1 Hotel Accessibility Pack Thank you for considering the Hilton Blackpool for your next holiday or Business Venue. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel, which you may find useful when planning your visit. Arriving at the Hotel You can use the Main Entrance of the Hotel on North Promenade or the lower ground car park entrance on Derby Road. Both entrances are fully accessible.
2 Please use the drop off points outside each entrance and park your vehicles in the parking spaces marked with the yellow lines right in front of the lower ground entrance. For the Derby Road Entrance, please follow the route to the entrance of the hotel through the car park and find the closest spaces for disabled drivers opposite the entrance. When you enter the hotel from the Derby Road entrance, turn left towards to springs night club and Living Well Health Club. The lifts are situated on your right hand side. If you require assistance, there is a phone situated on the wall at the hotel entrance opposite the automatic doors. Dial 0 and a member of our concierge team will help you with anything you need. At the North entrance of the hotel (street level) there is a permanent ramp at the right of the automatic doors. The door on the top of the ramp is also automatic.
3 After using the ramp to get into the hotel, please go left for a few meters and turn right where you will see the reception desk. We also have a seating area in front of the reception desk for you to relax.
4 To the left of the reception desk, you will find the lifts that will take you the Promenade Restaurant (1st floor), Cocktail Bar (1st floor), Living Well Health Club (Lower ground floor), Car park (Lower ground floor) and all bedrooms (floor 2-7). Most of our conference and banqueting suites are also on the Ground floor of the hotel and are all accessible. If you have entered from the car park entrance (Lower Ground) take the lift to the ground floor and go left towards Reception to check in. We have an induction loop on the left hand side of the reception desk. The surface of the ground floor Reception area is marble with carpet around the seating area with no steps or uneven surfaces. If you need a member of staff they are on call 24 hours a day at reception. When you check in, our team will tell you about our evacuation policy and we will make a note of any special requests you have if we need to evacuate. Additional Services If you want to order a newspaper or arrange a wakeup call, please contact a member of the reception team. We will deliver the paper to your room. Every guest s room has a hotel services directory which contains information about the facilities in the hotel. For extra help to use the directory or to view this in large print or Braille please contact a team member on extension 0.
5 Toilet Facilities There are three sets of public toilets in the hotel. They are situated in the Living Well Health club on the lower ground floor, in the Promenade Restaurant on the First floor and on the ground floor next to the business centre. We have an accessible toilet situated on the ground floor opposite the Green Room.
6 Getting around the Hotel. All lifts have an announcement system to let you know what floor you are on. The lifts have mirrors on the right, left and back walls. On the right and left side of the lifts you will find adverts for hotel facilities or forthcoming attractions and weekly restaurant and pool times. The Promenade Restaurant and Cocktail Bar are both situated on the first floor which you can get to via the lifts. On your right, you will find the Promenade Restaurant where you can take Breakfast and Dinner. The Restaurant provides our Famous Hilton Breakfast and in the evening we serve a Carvery with a selection of mouth watering main courses. For a special occasion the A la Carte menu offers the finest Mediterranean cuisine. Our comfortable Lounge and Cocktail bar stages entertainment throughout the summer season and most weekends. We serve snacks and lights meals throughout the day. These menus are also available in large print or Braille.
7 Living Well Health Club The Living Well Health Club is on the lower ground floor. Take the lift to the lower ground floor and the entrance to the leisure centre is on the right marked by a Springs Nightclub sign. We provide a changing room with direct access to the pool using a lift or hoist. The Living Well Health Club offers all guests a time to relax and unwind with its heated indoor swimming pool, Sauna and Steam Room. You can also treat yourself to a facial or massage with our beautician. You can make an appointment by calling Gemma on or you can make an appointment at the Living Well Health Club Desk.
8 The opening times are: Monday to Friday- 6.00am-10.00pm Saturday and Sunday- 8.00am-9.00pm Children can use the Swimming pool from 8.00am-8.00pm (Last entry is half an hour before closing time) There is always a team member on duty at the Living Well Health Club who will be happy to help. Bedrooms We have seven fully accessible rooms which are all located on the second floor. The rooms have wheel-in showers, wide doors and panic alarms. They also have hand and grab rails around the toilets, high level toilets, emergency pull cords and low level storage. The wheels in showers have seats and low level hand basins. Your room will have a desk, chair and a coffee table. If you need more space in your room we can remove any of these items. Please let either reservations know when you make a reservation or the housekeeping department once you have arrived at the hotel to arrange for the furniture to be removed. Vibrating pillows are available upon request from reception. A device will be placed under your pillow and in the event of an emergency it will vibrate to awaken you.

16 In an emergency If the alarm bell rings and you are in your room stay there! We will send a member of the team to your room immediately. He or she will knock on your door and enter using a master key. They will then help you to exit the building.
17 We will give you further instructions once we have helped you to a safe point. When you leave your room, please do not stop to collect your personal belongings other than medication that you may need. You will find a safe area on the second floor in close proximity to the fire escape. We will then help you to the nearest lift. We have a structured evacuation to help people who are nearest to the fire, if we move you to the lifer and you are waiting, this will be because you are in no immediate danger. If we have to use the fire stairs, we will transfer you into a lightweight evacuation chair and carry you down the stairs of the building. If a member of staff cannot reach your room, carefully open the door and check your route to the point of safety. If it is blocked of if there is smoke, go back into your room and close the door. The door to your room is fire resistant for up to one hour. As soon as the fire brigade arrive we will tell them your room number. Do not block the door with anything including towels, as this will prevent the fire brigade from entering your room. Do not open any windows as this can increase air circulation and increase smoke and flames. If the fire is in your room, leave your room immediately and close the door behind you. Break the nearest alarm to you. We test the emergency alarms on a Monday at 11.00am. The siren will sound four times for no longer than a minute each time. If we do a test at any other time, we will display a notice in all of the lifts and around the reception foyer.
