9 Preliminary logistics 1. The co-organization by the Academy of Athens and the MPI increases the external funding. 2. Having the MOP in a big hotel reduces the total cost (apart from being more convenient for all, allowing flexibility in the program). 3. Our collaboration with the University of Athens secures post-graduate volunteer help during the MOP (large LOC). We can easily accommodate any number of participants up to 250 (this MOP=150). We can offer: Regular registration fee: ~220 (320 $) Reduced registration (for ~80 students): ~100 (145 $) Free registration for 20 invited speakers. Accommodation at the Royal Olympic for 100 /day (145 $/day) (price locked for 150 rooms, with same price for double rooms!). The registration fee will cover, apart of course from the basics: A visit and guided tour at the Acropolis Museum. The MOP Dinner (by the sea or overlooking Athens) Further funding will be used to support students and young scientists towards (at least) free registration or travel support. Early negotiations and low touristic season (July-August) secure low prices. Athens is less expensive than most big european capitols!

10 The MOP Dinner Based on the current planning, the MOP dinner will be either by the sea or on top of one of the local hills (e.g. Lycabettus), with a panoramic view of Athens. Dinner and transportation will be free of charge for the MOP participants, and at a very low cost for accompanying persons.
