1 CORFU Departures from 15 July till 19 August The island of Corfu is located just off the West coast of Greece. Corfu enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate along with excellent beaches making it a popular destination for holiday makers. Corfu is very green compared to other Greek islands: hot and dry summers along with winter rain creates lush vegetation which is dominated by over 2 million olive trees. These olive trees on Corfu are the main cultivation, although Corfu's tourism now provides the most income. Corfu town, known in modern Greek as Kerkyra is beautifully preserved and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Here Renaissance, Baroque and Classical repertoire came to be successfully applied to local artistic traditions. Palaces, fortresses, austere public buildings of the Venetian rule uniquely blend with lines of drying washing in tiny alleyways and small secluded squares. Strolling through a complex of narrow cobbled streets with stairways and vaulted passages, the socalled kantoúnia, will make you feel as if you ve travelled to Genoa or Naples. Rooms are comfortable, ideal for people who don t need much for their holiday. All rooms have 2 beds, a private shower room, a fridge, a balcony and fan (no television, no air-conditioning and no kitchen facilities) and they are cleaned daily. Bed linen is changed on arrival and towels are changed twice during the week (if extra towels are needed a fee will have to be paid). This property is located in the centre of Gouvia village very close to the clubs, bars, supermarkets, restaurants and the beach. Gouvia village is situated on the east coast of Corfu within good proximity of Corfu town. Buses run daily from 7.30 am till 23:30 pm every 15 min. The ride to Corfu town takes approx 15 minutes. 4 CORFU OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS Friday - Corfu Town & Sea Lion Show Transfer to Corfu port where we will sail with a glass bottom boat. Experienced drivers will swim, surrounded by fish, will feed them and will show us some of the strangest forms of life in the sea. Sea lions, with their trainers, perform a unique show. Then we will walk to town where, together with our guide, we will explore Corfu s cosmopolitan capital, with its Palace, built in Maltese stone, Saint Spiridon Church and the Town Hall. We will also have some free time at leisure. On our return to the hotel, we will stop at Jumbo multi-store for incredible bargains! Adults 40, Children 30 Saturday - Full Day Mountain Pantokrator & Cooking Lesson Full day guided tour visiting the traditional village of Spartylas, where we will have a short stop for coffee. We will then continue to Pantokrator, the highest mountain in Corfu with its famous monastery and spectacular views of all the island. From here we will move down to Ipsos, one of the most popular sea side resorts, where there will be some free time for souvenir shopping or swimming/water sports. After all of this we will be served a typical Greek lunch at a sea front family tavern where we will also have the opportunity to learn and join in the preparation of local dishes. Adults 45, Children 35 Sunday - Full Day Paxos Parga Transfer to Corfu town from where we will catch the boat sailing for Parga a famous tourist resort in Mainland Greece. Once in Parga there will be time for swimming and to stroll around the narrow streets full of shops, restaurants and cafeterias. We will then head towards Paxos island with crystal waters, where we will have time to swim and to wander around or have lunch (extra) at one of the traditional local tavernas. Adults 35, Children 25 Monday Full Day Aqualand This is the ideal place for all the family. Forget your worries, relax, sunbathe and swim. A truly incredible water park (entrance included) with a choice of 38 slides and the 3 rd largest wave pool in the world. Giant and multi slides black hole for twisters, kamikaze for the daring, hydro tube, crazy river for the sun seekers and a Jacuzzi to relax in. Children s area with special slide pool. Fast food, souvenir shops and bars are also available. Adults 37, Children 27 Tuesday - Full Day BBQ boat trip A barbeque boat with Greek food will take us to Sivota and the famous blue lagoon (mainland Greece sandy beach) beautiful beach. Moving on, we cross a small channel to an impressive cave, used during the 2 nd World War as a gunnery post by the Greek navy. A wonderful half hour opportunity for photographs as we edge our way inside its cavernous interior. While on board, an extremely good value light lunch will be served, consisting of chicken fillet, spicy local sausage, tzaziki (a yoghurt dip), colourful Greek salad and fresh seasonal fruit or watermelon. 5 Wednesday - Full Day Albania Transfer to Corfu port where we will have the chance to visit the tax free shop before our departure, by boat, to Albania s Saranda Port (trip lasts around 70 mins). It is very important to have a valid passport for this excursion. Upon arrival you can either spend the day exploring Saranda town at your own leisure or buy a guided coach excursion (extra approx. 20 per person) visiting the open market, the shopping centre with the local products, the famous Blue Eye Spring and the village of Karahatz with its luxurious restaurant Foinike for lunch (included if the coach excursion is bought). On the return transfer to the port you will make a short coffee break (extra) at lekures Castle with a panoramic view of the Ionian Sea and Butriti Lake. A 10 immigration fee per person has to be paid on the boat to the Albanian immigration officers. Adults 35, Children 25 Thursday - Full day Paleokastritsa Achillion Full day guided tour visiting koum-kouat distillery where we will have the chance to watch the production and taste all local Corfu products. Afterwards, we will continue to Paleokastritsa with its famous monastery where you will have some free time at leisure before we drive up to Makrades for a fantastic panoramic view Bella Vista (don t forget your cameras). Free time for lunch (optional) and then we will proceed to the Jumbo Store for some incredible bargains. Our last stop will be at Sissy s palace, better known as Achilleion Palace (entrance extra).
