14 Feel Family VOLOS VOLOS05 Makrinitsa and relax on the Beach Discover Family VOLOS VOLOS06 Landscapes of Greece by train Leaving the port, your first stop will be the village of Makrinitsa, located about 17 km from the town of Volos. It is located on the slopes of Mount Pelion and is known for offering a panoramic view of the Gulf of Pagasitikos and Volos. The town boasts unique architectural features, with its magnificent mansions and houses, its churches, as well as various water fountains and paths. Then we will visit Koropi, a picturesque and quiet village by the sea, home to Boufa, a large, sandy beach that surrounds the village. When you arrive at the beach, your guide will take you to the reserved umbrellas and deckchairs. During your 3-hour stay, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Pelion area, sip a refreshment and let the sunshine enhance your tan while relaxing amongst a cosmopolitan crowd. After a 30 minute car ride we will arrive at the village of Ano Lehonia. Once there, you will board the famous moutzouris-smudgy vintage train and enjoy an unforgettable experience. We'll climb the mountain on a dream route that runs through olive groves and the traditional settlements of Ano Gatzea, Agia Triada, Agios Athanasios, Pinakates and Argireika. The final destination will be the town of Milies.On this 90 minute train ride you will enjoy fantastic views of the sea and have the chance to take great photographs of various bridges, amongst them the five-arched bridge, or the sturdy iron bridge, unique in Europe.Once in Milies, accompanied by our guide, you will be able to explore the village on foot prior to returning to the port by coach.note: The operation of the steam train depends on the weather and can suffer cancellations. The train trip takes about 1½ hours and there are no bathrooms on board. The walk will take about 30 minutes and is on uneven and paved terrain.
