2 CENTRE This program enables our students to improve their French while discovering the art, culture, gastronomy and countryside of the French Riviera. FULL PACKAGE PROGRAM INCLUDING Mini-group course: 20 lessons/week from Monday to Friday (6 students max. per class) Accommodation: in our studios (single or double occupancy in Residence Castel Arabel or Aragon). Half board: breakfast and lunch from Monday to Friday in the school restaurant Activity program: 3 half-day excursions or activities/week and 1 full day excursion during the weekend. IMPORTANT NOTES Minimum entry level: A1. The activity program offered below can be subject to changes. 3 CENTRE ANTIBES FONDATION MAEGHT GRASSE PERFUMERY SAMPLE OF ACTIVITIES HALF DAY EXCURSIONS Antibes The old town is famous for its ramparts along the sea and the long wall along the harbour. There are plenty of little streets to explore, a lot of restaurants to taste Provencal cuisine, and lots of shops to buy original gifts. Saint Paul de Vence / The Maeght Foundation It is a beautiful medieval fortified village, one of the most intact medieval examples of the region, whosemuch of the ramparts are still there. The Maeght Foundation is a true museum in nature. This exceptional site contains one of the most important collections in Europe, with paintings, sculptures, drawings and graphic works from the 20th century: Bonnard, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Giacometti, Léger, Miró... Grasse perfumery (Fragonard) and Gourdon Grasse offers different laboratories and workshops allowing to understand the fabrication process involved in creating a perfume. The museum displays an exceptional and rare collection of perfume artefacts spanning 5000 years of history. Gourdon is a Cliffside village situated in the territory of the CASA*. The identity of the towns and villages from the CASA has been forged over the ages by the fruits of their land and their particular association with ceramic and glass craftwork: shops of handmade jewelry, olive wood, original design ceramic, Provencal clothes, perfume, candy and candles and more *CASA = Communauté d agglomération de Sophia Antipolis CANNES MONACO LA CORNICHE D OR 3

4 OUR STUDENTS IN ANTIBES PROVENCAL TASTING FRENCH COURSES Cannes Cannes is the «star» of the French Riviera, famous for the International Film Festival and its Palais des Festivals which rolls the red carpet out for international stars of the silver screen every year. Luxury hotels, cars, beaches attract tourists from around the world. Monaco With its exceptional location, between mountain and sea, Monaco is a highly cultured place with many museums, the best hotels in the world, the sumptuous gastronomy and well-known restaurants. Fréjus / La corniche d Or Fréjus is a city of art and history with a rich roman and medieval heritage: arenas, aqueducts, theaters, archaeological museum (and the two-headed Hermes), military heritage. The episcopal city is listed on the guide of Var High Places. La Corniche d Or: Carved into the rock, the Corniche d Or connects Saint-Raphael to Cannes. A dozen coves and small beaches follow one another in a wild setting. The steep streets of Trayas lead on the hills of one of the most beautiful panoramas in the region. HALF DAY ACTIVITIES Game of Petanque (or boules) The sport that is closest to French hearts especially in the South of France. It is traditionally played with metallic balls on hard dirt or grave beneath plane trees. Provencal tasting products in the school A tasting of local food produces «tasting» session. Try out the olive oils, pâtés, tapenade, flower syrups, etc. FULL DAY EXCURSION Nice Warm climate, diverse scenery, rich plant life, beautiful blue seas It is possible to find all this in Nice, the capital of the Côte d Azur. It is home to a large number of museums (Chagall, Matisse, Museum of Modern Art, etc.) and theatres. Aix en Provence A tour of Aix en Provence is a chance to travel in time. Its architectural and cultural heritage is accessible to everyone, treasures that you will discover simply by walking around the town. Aix en Provence, the capital of Provence, is a living history book, with a rich heritage thousands of years old. Discover its museums, the old town and Villeneuve («new town»), the Mazarin Quarter, the Course Mirabeau 4
