You'll go through the entrance skipping the line (not the security lines, though). You tour ends here, so you can take in all the time you want at the Iron Lady. Most people stay between 1.5 and 2 hours. Please note that you ticket inlcudes ticket to the 2nd floor, but you can purchase the ticket for the top floor on the spot (it costs about 3 euros/person) and the lines are very short. Enjoy the English commentary as you get to the Louvre Museum. Stop at number 4. From here you will go get your skip-the-line Louvre entry tickets at a kiosk near the Louvre Pyramid. With your tickets in had it's time to visit the Louvre Museum. Most visits take between 3 and 4 hours. As part of this tour, your guide will show you the majestic 13th-Century Reims Cathedral, where the coronations of the Kings of France once took place. You will also visit Mumm and Mercier, two famous Champagne houses, where you can taste Champagne and admire the picturesque landscape of the region's vineyards. Set off from our agency in the center of Paris at 8 a.m. for a memorable day in the Champagne Region to the east of Paris (arrival scheduled for around 10:30 a.m.). Begin your excursion with a guided visit of the cellars of the famous Mumm Champagne house, where you will learn about their expertise and the secrets behind the creation of their many Champagnes. At the end of your tour, taste the famous "Red Ribbon" Champagne, one of the most popular Champagnes in the world. 11 Page 11 of 19 DAY 4 Guided tour of Versailles A UNESCO world heritage site, the Palace of Versailles was the home of Kings Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI and their court from 1682 until the French revolution in Accompanied by your guide, you will discover the Palace of Versailles, a symbol of royal power: its baroque architecture, sumptuous decor, artwork and furniture made by the greatest artisans at the time. you can then enjoy some free time to wander around the French formal gardens surrounding the palace. You will leave our agency situated in the center of Paris for a 45 minute train (RER) journey to the Palace of Versailles along with your guide. Entrance to the Royal Palace of Versailles You will be given a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles allowing you to immerse yourself in French royal life. It is spread out over a surface area of 67,000 m² and made up of more than 700 rooms. You will be able to access the most beautiful rooms in the palace without having to queue: the king s apartments with their 7 living rooms decorated on the theme of a god, the salle du Sacre and the majestic Hall of Mirrors, a reception room designed by renowned architect Jules Hardouin- Mansart. On June 6, 1944, known as D-Day, the Allies opened a new European front against the troops of the Third Reich during the Second World War. It was the largest military operation in history, which marked the beginning of the Battle of Normandy and would lead to the end of the Second World War. More than 150,000 soldiers from America, Britain, Canada and many other nations landed by sea and air on a number of beaches along the Normandy coastline (Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Juno Beach, etc.) and at the steep cliffs at Pointe du Hoc. Leave our agency in Central Paris at 7 a.m. for a unique day in Normandy. Relax on the luxury air-conditioned coach journey and admire the beautiful landscapes of the Normandy countryside as you reach the Caen Memorial Museum at around 10:15 am. The Caen Memorial Museum, also known as the Peace Museum, tells the story of the various stages of the Second World War, in particular the Battle of Normandy and the advance of the Allied forces across France. You will have the chance to see everyday objects from life under occupation, maps, and models of military vehicles, as well as film screenings that recreate the emotions of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Your first stop will be at the Pointe du Hoc, overlooking the hundred-foot-high cliffs between Utah and Omaha beaches. Stormed by the American Rangers on June 6, it was one of the key German fortified sites along the Normandy coast and was equipped, at that time, with extensive heavy artillery. You will then visit the famous American Cemetery at Saint Laurent, located just above Omaha Beach, near the town of Colleville-sur-Mer. This 170-acre site is home to 9,387 white marble headstones, lined up perfectly across the grass, a memorial, a chapel, and the Garden of the Missing. It pays tribute to the American soldiers that died during the Battle of Normandy and is one of 25 permanent burial sites in the United States and abroad. A small trail leads down the hill to Omaha Beach, giving you the opportunity to walk across the sand. You will have one hour to explore the site. Following this visit, you will stop at Arromanches, a historic town known for its artificial port, which was built to assist the Normandy landings. On D-Day, the harbour saw the unloading of almost 10,000 tons of equipment. You can still make out the floating reinforced concrete "Phoenix" constructions in the water. Otherwise, you will make a short photo-stop near the sandy Juno Beach and its cemetery, one of the key D-Day landing beaches for Canadian troops on June 6, Return to Paris scheduled for approximately 9 pm. There are many sites that you still have time to visit, such as the Musee d'orsay, the Musee Rodin, The Picasso Museum and the Musee Carnavallet. Here are 2 half-day options if you are looking for ideas: 1. Latin Quarter. Start your tour with a visit of the Luxembourg Gardens for about 45 minutes. Then head to the Place du Pantheon and tour the Latin Quarter where the Sorbonne is located (30 mn). Walk to Place Saint-Germain des Pres, heart of the Parisian classical neighborhood. Take the Hop on and Hop Off bus to the Musee d'orsay for a visit. (2 hours). 2. Marais Start your tour at the Place des Vosges, the oldest and arguably the most beautify of all Paris squares. Walk 15 minutes to the Musee Carnavallet, rich with Paris history, and one of the best museums in the city. (1.5 hour visit). Continue walking towards the Seine and go the the Sainte-Chappelle, which displays some of the most striking stained glass artwork done in the middle ages. (1 hour visit). Next to the Sainte-Chappelle you can also visit the Conciergerie where Marie-Antoinette was jailed and spent her last days.
