2 his event will address present state and future perspectives in the field of civilian applications of high energy materials, from traditional use to advanced systems. It concerns engineers and scientists from both the academic and industrial worlds. The workshop will last two days and include oral presentations. OBJECTIVES The HEMs 2011 workshop organised by 3AF aims at promoting communication between leading international researchers, designers, manufacturers, and users in selected technical areas. The format of the meeting favours detailed discussions on specific topics of interest. The selected topics for this workshop will focus with state-of-art (present state and future perspectives) in the field of traditional, untraditional as well as advanced civilian applications of High Energy Materials.

3 TOPIC AREAS OF INTEREST ARE : Energetic Materials Formulation Design, Characterization and Diagnostics Disposal/Dismantling of Energetic Systems Space Chemical Propulsion, Gas Generators, Airbags, Power Generation, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, other applications HEMs for Civilian Advanced Systems SCHEDULE Receipt of Extended Abstract (~ 500 words) - March 30, 2011 Acceptance Notification - May, 2011 Full Paper Submission - August 31, 2011 Paper selection is based upon review of extended abstracts. Please include prime author s name, address, address, phone and fax numbers. All accepted abstracts will be distributed to Workshop participants at registration. The Programme Committee will notify all authors of its decision in May This notification will be accompanied by detailed instructions allowing authors to prepare and send their paper to the 3AF Secretariat by August 31, 2011.

All accommodation reservation is accessible online at Hotels have been selected on the basis of category and distance from the conference centre (5 to 20 minutes walking distance).
