3 The Start Menu 1 To access to all the CATIA V5 Workbenches The number of workbenches depends on the licenses configuration. In Ecole Centrale de Nantes, we have ED2 (Education Package). 7 The standard Windows Toolbar 3 Geometry: This is a toggle tool to hide or to show the geometry Specifications: This is a toggle tool to hide or to show the specification tree Compass: This is a toggle tool to hide or to show the compass Reset compass: Reset the compass back to its original location and orientation D. 9 The Specification Tree 4 To Hide/show, press F3 If we click on the Specification tree, we can translate or zoom as a part. The color of the part change, light gray. 10 Mouse Handling geometry / tree with the mouse or compass Select + CTRL/MAJ : multi-selection Move ou Popup Turn ou Zoom Crossing the room to the tree -> GREY PIECE : click on a white branch of the tree or the frame on the bottom right D. 11 The compass 5 In the part design, allow to make translation or rotation Select an hold to move the compass onto geometry In an assembly, allows us to modify the orientation and rotation of a part relatively to other parts D. 17 The View Toolbar 11 Set the fly or examine mode Permit to see all graphics currently on the screen Move the part around on the screen Allows us to rotate the part in the 3D space. The rotation center can be change by pressing the middle mouse button first. Zoom In/Out Permits us to see a plane in a true length view Hide/Show a given entity Change to the no show space This toolbar exist for all the workbenches D. Chablat / S.
