Depart for the Portuguese border towards Lisbon via a visit to the region of Extremadura. You will explore one of the best-preserved and most beautiful towns in Spain, Trujillo. Beginning in the Plaza Mayor, its splendour extends up the hillside into a labyrinth of mansions, leafy courtyards, fruit gardens, quiet plazas, churches and convents enclosed within the walls circling the upper town. Trujillo was once home to wealthy Spanish Conquistadors who returned from the discovery of the Americas in the 16th Century. In the early afternoon you will arrive in Lisbon. Enjoy an optional Fado (traditional Portuguese music) Show (to be paid for locally). Day 2 (Thursday) Lisbon (B) After breakfast enjoy a morning city sightseeing tour of Lisbon taking in sights such as the Alfama district, Tower of Belem and the Jeronimos Monastery which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon you will have free time to explore this city at your own leisure. Alternatively there is an optional tour (to be paid for locally) to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. Day 3 (Friday) Lisbon Fatima Lisbon (B) Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Fatima and explore at your own leisure. Perhaps visit The Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima which is one of the most famous Marian shrines in the world and attracts over 4 million tourists a year. In the afternoon return back to the Lisbon for afternoon at own leisure. Considered Europe s second-oldest capital (after Athens), once home to the world s greatest explorers like Vasco da Gama, Magellan and Prince Henry the Navigator it became the former launching pad for many of the world s greatest voyages around the world. Day 4 (Saturday) Lisbon Caceres Cordoba (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. Depart back to the Spanish border and continue to Caceres to explore this ancient city which has a strong blend of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance influences. Explore the old town which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon depart for Cordoba where dinner is provided. Overnight at Hotel in Cordoba Day 5 (Sunday) Cordoba Seville (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit the famous Mosque-Cathedral and narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. The Mosque-Cathedral is regarded as one of the most accomplished monuments of Moorish architecture and is a reputation of the Islamic architecture that flourished here more than a millennium ago when Cordoba was the capital of Islamic Spain and one of Western Europe s biggest and most cultured cities. After you will continue to Seville where dinner is provided and optional flamenco show is on offer (to be paid for locally). Overnight at Hotel in Seville

2 Day 6 (Monday) Seville (B, D) After breakfast begin a half-day city tour of Seville visiting the Barrio de Santa Cruz with its narrow streets, the Parque de Maria Luisa and Plaza de Espana which was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition to showcase Spain s industry and technology exhibits. It has been used as a filming location for movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars. The rest of the afternoon is yours at leisure. You can join an optional artistic tour (to be paid for locally) which includes a visit to the Royal Alcazar of Seville. The palace is renowned as one of the most beautiful in Spain and is the oldest royal palace to still be in use today. Dinner is provided. Overnight at Hotel in Seville Day 7 (Tuesday) Seville Ronda Marbella (B, D) After breakfast depart for Ronda. Once you arrive in Ronda you will have free time to explore its charm, particularly in the old town area. It is famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge which overlooks the Guadalevin and surrounding countryside. This view is worth the visit in itself! In the afternoon you will continue onto the coastal city of Marbella. Dinner is provided. Day 8 (Wednesday) Marbella (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. Today is yours to explore this glamorous city. It s fair to say there is a little part of history to be found in every corner of the Old Quarter, with its Moorish architecture and famous Los Naranjos Plaza also known as Orange Square. Dinner is provided. Day 9 (Thursday) Marbella (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. Today is a full leisure day. Perhaps walk the Golden Mile which is a stretch between Marbella and Puerto Banus, on which are located some of the most luxurious residences in Marbella, such as the Palace of King Fahd, as well as some landmark hotels, among them the Melia Don Pepe, Hotel Marbella Club and the Puente Romano Hotel. Day 10 (Friday) Marbella Tangier Rabat Casablanca (B, D) After breakfast depart for Algeciras or Tarifa to board ferry crossing the Strait of Gibraltar towards the top of Africa. After clearing customs you will enjoy a brief city tour of Tangier. This city has for centuries been Africa's gateway from Europe. Its blend of cultures and influences is unique in Morocco. After you will depart for Rabat for a walking tour of the capital of Morocco. It s a grand city, full of fine buildings and welcoming people, with plenty to see and plenty to do. Over the centuries Rabat has been owned by the Phoenicians, Romans, Almohads and Merenids and you ll find plenty of monuments in the city to these past cultures including a visit to Hassan Tower and the Royal Mausoleum of Mohammed V. 3 Day 11 (Saturday) Casablanca Marrakech (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a brief city tour of Morocco s most famous city, Casablanca. It s a cosmopolitan place packed with art galleries, fine restaurants, top fashion designers and cutting edge nightlife. At the same time it s full of striking architecture such as the King Hassan II Mosque and the Mahkama du Pacha. Depart for the Land of God Marrakech where you will take a city tour and take in the magnificent Djemaa El-Fna Square which is full of musicians, dancers and story tellers who pack this area in the heart of the medina throughout the day and night. Dinner is provided. Overnight at Hotel in Marrakech Day 12 (Sunday) Marrakech Meknes Fes (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is yours to explore Marrakech, perhaps take a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque (only viewable from the outside for non-muslims), or take a stroll through the markets of Marrakech (adjacent to Djemaa E-Fna) where you can buy anything from spices to shoes. Continue onto Meknes and enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of this old walled city. Explore the Pl el-hadim Square with the famous Bab el-mansour within distance for the perfect picture opportunity. In the early evening you will arrive in Fes where dinner is provided. Overnight at Hotel in Fes Day 13 (Monday) Fes (B, D) After breakfast begin a half-day city tour of Fes. Within its sturdy walls you ll find the place where old Morocco still exists, in the elaborate architecture, the historic medina and the throngs of people that make their home here. Fez has the best preserved old city in the Arab world, the sprawling, labyrinthine medina of Fes el-bali, which is incidentally also the world's largest car-free urban zone. Visit the Medersa Bou Inania, Bab Boujaloud, Merenid Tombs, Tannery and the University of al-qarawiyyin which is considered to be the oldest existing and continually operating university in the world by UNESCO and Guinness World Records. The rest of your afternoon is yours to explore more of this fascinating city or surrounding areas such as the ancient Roman site of Volubilis. Overnight at Hotel in Fes Day 14 (Tuesday) Fes Tangier Marbella (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will be departing Morocco via Tangier to the ferry terminal for arrival back to Spain. Once you arrive back in mainland Europe, continue onto the the coastal city of Marbella. Dinner is provided. Day 15 (Wednesday) Marbella Granada (B, D) After breakfast continue to Granada. It was the last Muslim city to fall to the Christians in 1492, at the hands of Queen Isabel of Castile and her husband Fernando of Aragon. You will get the opportunity to visit The Alhambra and Generalife Gardens which is Europe s love letter to Moorish culture, a place where fountains trickle, leaves rustle, and ancient spirits seem to mysteriously linger. It isn t hard to see why this is one of Spain s most visited attractions! In the early evening you can join an option tour (to be paid for locally) through Sacramonte which is a traditional neighbourhood where the gypsy communities relocated after the fall of the Moorish empire. 4 Day 16 (Thursday) Granada Toledo Madrid (B, L) Breakfast at the hotel. You will visit the Imperial City of Toledo which has been declared a World Heritage Site due to its extensive cultural and monumental co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures. This is where the city gets its moto City of the Three Cultures. Behind its walls Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues. This great diversity of artistic style makes the old quarter a real open-air museum. You will have a sightseeing tour of Toledo followed by lunch, before departing in the late afternoon.
