3 Situated between Kos and Leros, Kalymnos is the fourth largest island in the Dodecanese. Kalymnos is best known as home of the world s finest sponge divers. 8 Historical Review The temple of Delios Apollo Statue of Delios Apollo, now at Kalymnos museum. The Temple of Delios Apollo was built in the 4th century B.C. The History of Kalymnos can be traced back to 2000 years before Christ.
