2 BRIEFLY ABOUT THE PROJECT Adria.MOVE IT! project was applied to the first call for proposals of the IPA Adriatic CBC programme in Partnership covers three countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro) and 6 partners (City of Dubrovnik as the Lead Beneficiary and City of Umag, City of Novigrad and Municipality of Lopar Croatia, Municipality of Piran-Slovenia, Municipality of Kotor-Montenegro) The total amount of project eligible costs is ,70 Project was approved at the end of 2010 and begun with implementation in March of 2011 Adria.MOVE IT! is nearing completion and all activities will be wrapped up by 28th of February 2014.

3 PROJECT OBJECTIVES The general objective of the Project is to promote sustainable mobility for improvement of quality of life in the Adriatic area and greater efficiency and safety of traffic. Specific objective 1: improvement of mobility and accessibility through more sustainable transport solutions. Optimization of traffic flows implies the rational use of transport channels, the maximum efficiency of use of limited space for transport and other purposes, and encourages use of clean, quiet, energy-efficient means of transport in order to reduce environmental impacts. Specific objective 2: Increased quality and attractiveness of public transport. Special emphasis will be placed on modelling of public transportation because the assumption is that the project partners have an outstanding possibility of action on the design and operation of public transport.

6 MAIN PROJECT RESULTS As joint public procurement was not allowed in the project, most of the project activities had to be implemented individually by each partner. However the results, especially of studies was interlinked and upgraded with partnership. Of course the most visible results arose from the tangible activities-pilot investments: 1. Dubrovnik constructed its first bycicle path in the area called Petka, which is a nature protected area 2. Piran introduced a bike sharing system, purchased 100 bycicles, electric vehicles and 2 electric bus shuttles 3. Kotor constructed a pedestrian walkway on the side of one of the busiest streets 4. Umag constructed a bycicle pathway in a populated area 5. Novigrad constructed a bycicle pathway to the city centre 6. Lopar constructed a walkway and accessway to one of its beautiful beaches In the next slides you will find some photos from pilot investments and various events

13 SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY SOLUTIONS All Beneficiaries performed various studies on sustainable mobiltiy solutions as per there major difficulties and needs. - Here are some examples of developed solutions: In Dubrovnik the major issue being faced is the extreme numbers of visitors during summer months. one of the biggest causes of this congestion is traffic of tourists from cruisers parked in the Gruž port, which are transported to old city mainly by buses. The proposed solution is a underground tunnel-walkway from Gruž to Pile-entry to old city In Kotor one of the major issues is also the flow of turists from the cruisers however the issue in Kotor is that they cross the only street going through the city and access to old city core. The proposal there is to construct a walkwayviaduct, or to move the main road behind the city as a bypass In Piran which is closed for traffic (except for local residents) the proposal is to prolong the bus route to the last hotel in the city and to totall close of traffic also to residents.
