1 1 st International Staff training Week: Internationalisation Bridge between European Union and Western Balkans The University of Sarajevo (UNSA) invites our institutional partners to the 1 st International Staff Training Week (1ISTW), which will take place from October 15 th to 19 th, 2018, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 1ISTW is a five day programme which will include seminars taught by UNSA, social and cultural activities, and tasting of our regional products. The 1ISTW will focus on the Internationalization of Universities outside the European Union context, with bilateral meetings with Partners and create synergies with each Partner University. You will be able to present yourselves and to have a networking between partners, academics, students and IRO officers. Also, as a part of our Staff week, we have incorporated the implementation of our Scholarship fair (more below). We will also joined forces with our partner university Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar, so you will have an opportunity to visit this city, the university, present your institution and enjoy the offer of the beautiful southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Application deadline is prolonged until September 21 st, Registration can be done here. The Ninth Scholarship fair (9SS): Scholarship fair offers an opportunity to raise awareness of internationalisation and it is participated by institutions (government and non-government institutions, embassies and diplomatic consulates, civil society centres, local communities, culture centres, universities) who present and offer variety of education's aid (scholarships, financial aid, credits, loans, etc) for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the study opportunities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. Participation at the Scholarship fair is free of charge. Promotional materials: We encourage you to bring any promotional materials with you, as you will have a possibility to meet with thousands of visitors and share your stories and study offer during the Scholarship fair as well as during the visit to Mostar. Registration fee: As this is our first event of this kind, this time there will be no registration fee. However, participants have to pay for travel, accommodation and the other dinners themselves. Erasmus+ grants: Our Erasmus+ KA107 partners can apply for an Erasmus+/ International Credit Mobility Staff Training Grant for our University. The grant can be used to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and meals during their time in Sarajevo. We will provide administrative support for the needed documents and signatures.

2 Accommodation: Sarajevo offers wide range of Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. For Hotels you can find here and for Bed and Breakfasts here. Travel to Sarajevo: For most of you, the common used way to travel to Sarajevo is by plane. Sarajevo Airport is located 12 km away from the City centre. It is connected with a bus line (Airport - Baščaršija/City centre). Transport service is available to all interested persons at the price of 5,00 KM (2,5 ) for a drive in one direction, and 8,00 KM (4 ) for a return ticket. The time table is given here. You also have an option to take a taxi which you will find at the exit gate of the Airport. The estimated price is 18,00-24,00 KM (9-12 ) depending on your destination. Other option is the bus and/or train from other regional cities (Zagreb, Beograd, Split, Dubrovnik) with better flight connection. Location of the event(s): The 1ISTW and 9SS will be held at the of the University of Sarajevo which is in the centre of the city. Weather Having in mind that this is second half of October, we expect mild to a bit cold weather. Temperatures are expected to be app C. Language Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian is official language of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but a lot of people do speak English and some other foreign languages. Currency The official B&H s currency is Kovertibilna Marka - KM (BAM): 1 = 1,95 KM (app. 2 KM). ATMs are widely dispersed in Sarajevo, while many places accept credit cards.
