Sochi is an important tourist destination within the country, since the very beginning of the 20th century. In fact, Stalin owned his favourite dacha (or summer house) next to the city. And the fact is Sochi is topping the list of four million tourists arriving every year in Sochi in search of sunbathing and beaches (humid subtropical climate, with mild temperatures in winter and warm temperate in summer), as well as some finest spas, thanks to the medicinal waters of the area. You can discover nature at its purest form and the North Caucasus Mountains off the coast are other attractions that make Sochi a flamboyant place. View to the Sochi Park and Olimpic Village, Sochi VOLOGDA Vologda is a large city located next to the Vologda River in Russia. It is the administrative and cultural centre of the Vologda region and a transport hub for northwest Russia. Vologda became a city of significant importance because of its location and its navigable waterways that connected it with Moscow, Novgorod and the White Sea. Vologda SUZDAL Suzdal This city, located 200 kilometres away from Moscow and the banks of the Kamenka River, is part of the Golden Ring that brings together the ancient cities of Central Russia. It is an important tourist centre with a wide range of ancient Russian architecture, mostly churches and monasteries. Some of them are considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Strolling around the streets of this small city is like being placed inside an open-air museum with some 200 architectural monuments. In addition, being a rather small city, with just over 11,000 inhabitants, it only takes you 10 minutes to reach the city centre from any outskirts. You can add 2-days (or more) tour to Suzdal or Vladimir or another city of Golden Ring to any standard trip.
