Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia and the cultural center of the country. It contains a large number of architectural monuments and modern buildings. Particularly noteworthy are the Narikala fortress located on the bank of the River Mtkvari and the Metekhi Church. In the VI century, the oldest cathedral in Tbilisi - Anchiskhati was built, while the Jvarismama church was built in the 16th century. Another cathedral - Zemo Betlemi - was constructed in the 18th century, as were several other buildings in the historical center of the city. The Holy Trinity Cathedral, built in our times, is one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world. We will begin our tour to Tbilisi by visiting the Holy Trinity Cathedral, then we will walk along the old town, see the Metekhi temple built in the 13th century and located on the cliff. After enjoying the view, continue along the cable car and climb the Narikala fortress, which was founded in the 4th century AD, offering a panoramic view of Tbilisi and the Botanical Garden. From Narikala fortress we will walk down to the mosque and open the oldest part of the city with interesting houses with open carved balconies. We will continue our trip by visiting the district of the sulfur baths of Abanotubani and Legkhvtahievi, listening to the legends, about how Tbilisi was founded in the 5th century.

2 The second day - Tbilisi. We will climb the Turtle Lake and visit the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, located in the Vake district in the central part of the city. On the territory of the museum there are more than a hundred exhibits from all regions of Georgia: authentic houses, outbuildings, utensils, barns, water mills, wine cellars, forges, cowsheds, etc. Officially, the ethnographic museum was opened in the 1960s. Visiting the museum, you can reach the Turtle Lake - a favorite place for resting for the Tbilisi residents. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Directly from the lake, the cable car trains, will bring you down in 6 minutes. Further we will rise on Funicular on the Mountain Mtatsminda, height meters above sea level. Mtatsminda is one of the most beautiful natural, historical and cultural places of the city. It is covered with coniferous forests and looks proudly at the capital. From Mountain Mtatsminda there is a beautiful panoramic view of Tbilisi. Observation platforms are installed here for viewing the panorama of the city. There are several means to reach Mtatsminda, the funicular cable car being among them. At Mtatsminda currently operates the largest leisure park in Georgia with attractions, restaurants, bars and other entertainments. there is also a television tower. In the middle of Mtatsminda mountain, on the slope, there is a cathedral named after Saint David Garedji. In the courtyard of the cathedral is located a pantheon where Georgian writers, public persons and the greatest sons are buried, including Ilia Chavchavadze, Akaki Tseretedi, Vazha Pshavela, Galaktion Tabidze. In the pantheon also rests the famous Russian writer and playwright Alexander Griboyedov.

Visit the picturesque monastery of Jvari, sung by M. Y. Lermontov in the poem "Mtsyri". From the hill on which the monastery is located, there is a breathtaking view on the merging of the two rivers Aragvi and Mtkvari as well as the Svetitskhoveli temple, the religious center of Georgia, where one of the greatest shrines of the Christian world - the Robe of the Jesus is stored. As well we will visit the Samtavro temple. In Samtavro there are many sacred objects: a part of the life-giving pillar, the miraculous icon of the Iberian God Mother, the miraculous icon of St. Nino, the graves of the holy kings Mirian and Nana, part of the stone from the grave of St. Nino and other relics.

4 Гори We will visit the house-museum of Stalin - the exhibition is chronologically divided into several halls, in which many exhibits that belonged to Stalin, including furniture, personal belongings and gifts, were exhibited. Uplistsikhe is an ancient cave city, one of the first cities on the territory of Georgia carved into the rock. The city emerged at the end of II-the beginning of I millennium BC, experienced several ups and downs, was finally abandoned in the XIX century and is thus a multilayered archaeological site, one of the most important architectural monuments in Georgia.

6 Prometheus Cave The cave was discovered on July 15, 1983, although the entrance in the form of a large arch was known for a long time. Since 1985, the cave has been converted into an excursion facility. The total length of the cave is about 11 km, of which 1,060 m2 are open to visitors. The cave was named after Prometheus, as according to the Ancient Greek Mythology Prometheus was chained to the mountains around this district. In May 2011, the cave was opened for visitors. Near the entrance there is a monument to a local resident who has guarded the cave for many years.

Martvili Canyon The canyon is located in the village Gachedili, a few kilometers north from Martvili in Megrelian region. The river Abasha crosses the limestone rocks where a mesmerizing canyon was formed. The length of the canyon is 2400 meters and the depth reaches 40 meters. Paleontologists recently discovered here traces of prehistoric animals that lived here million years ago. Scientists have found footprints of dinosaur paws and bones, as well as traces of a cave man.
