8 Diversity of the Italian islands The extraordinary Italy tour as of 1.149,- The Berlin sails from Nice to Italy. The first port of call is Gaeta and then it's amount of onward to Naples. Do not miss out on a trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. The Aeolian Islands, also called Fire Islands, are located in the north of Sicily and are volcanic Islands. On the largest island you can expect a castle complex and cathedral as well as beautiful gorges and azure bays. The sulphur island of Vulcano is visible from far away and a bath in the sulphur fango is said to have a healing effect. In the evening we head for Stromboli, the only permanently active volcano in the Aeolian Islands. If you're lucky, you'll be able to watch it erupt.
