3 14 DAY CRUISETOUR ITINERARY... Day 1 Travel to Fairbanks on August 31th. Day 2 Fairbanks. In the morning, your Adventure Specialist will introduce you to the city of Fairbanks. Explore Fairbanks natural sites and historic landmarks before taking in the beautiful landscapes when cruising down the Chena River on the Riverboat Discovery sternwheeler. Also visit the Museum of the North which houses a large collection of Alaskan artwork and historical exhibits. Day 3 Start your day with an exciting journey to Denali aboard the luxurious Wilderness Express a glass-domed traincar. From 3:30 p.m., Denali is yours to explore. Experience Denali s overpowering magnificence on a range of optional activities, from bush pilots taking you up into the skies, to leisurely hikes on quiet trails. Overnight at Denali Park Village. Day 4 In the morning, you ll venture deep into the impressive Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Explore the area s lush landscapewhile searching for Alaska s wildlife. After your tour, Denali is yours to discover, with the hinterland open to bike, off-road, or hike. Overnight at Denali Park Village. Day 5 Spend the morning exploring Denali on your own or consult with your Tour Director to book an optional land excursion, before boarding the Wilderness Express to Talkeetna. From 5:00 p.m., Talkeetna is yours to discover. Explore the nature trails that surround the lodge or ask your Tour Director about optional activities. Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. Day 6 For most of the day, Talkeetna is yours to explore. Located literally at the end of the road, Main Street provides a place where you can mill with the bohemians, aviators, and adventurers who call the town home. In the late afternoon, you ll board the Wilderness Express to Anchorage, Alaska s largest city. From 8:00 p.m., Anchorage is yours to discover. Explore the attractions of the big apple of the north while dining or strolling under the late-evening sun. Overnight at the Anchorage Marriott. Day 7 Start the day with a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center to learn about Alaska s indigenous cultures before boarding your deluxe motorcoach for the drive to Seward. In Seward, join the Millennium for your 7-night cruise to Vancouver. Note: All tours and activities as described, other than optional activities, are included in your Cruisetour vacation. Day 10 Skagway (Port of Call). Step back into gold rush history at the Trail of 98 Museum. Take a trip along the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad or other optional tours. Day 11 Icy Strait Point (Port of Call). Fifty miles west of Juneau and at the mouth of Glacier Bay, lies historic Icy Strait Point. Travelers have the unique opportunity to experience Tlingit culture, superior wildlife viewing opportunities and years of Alaskan history. Day 12 Ketchikan (Port of Call). Our first stop is at the salmon and totem pole capital of the world. An optional tour can show you native carvers at work or you can explore notorious Creek Street on your own. Day 13 Inside Passage Cruising. Spend a full day cruising the protected waters of the Inside Passage. Enjoy the procession of birds and sea mammals on British Columbia s spectacular coastline.
