2 INTRODUCTION. From November 2019 to June 2020, the Cunard leet will travel over 149,572 nautical miles visiting incredible places across the globe. The most famous Ocean Liners in the world call at 123 destinations in 48 different countries, including 9 maiden calls for our current leet. Each voyage, whether it s a 2 night short break or a full 113 night world voyage aims to deliver reined journeys for our guests. Cunard has undertaken more world voyages and sent more ships across the world than any other passenger line, making us the true experts in world voyages. In fact, the concept of world cruising was invented by Cunard in 1922, when the elegant Laconia completed the irst ever continuous circumnavigation of the globe by a passenger liner, taking in 22 ports in 130 days. In 2020, Cunard s iconic lagship, Queen Mary 2, will embark upon a classic voyage of global exploration, taking in such diverse regions as the Mediterranean, Southern Africa, the Indian Ocean, Australia and Southeast Asia. 7 In December 2019 and the irst half of 2020, Queen Elizabeth offers a series of round trip voyages from international ports that offer deeper, richer and more regionally focused itineraries. In between these home-ported deployments will be exotic grand voyages that capture the imagination and spirit of adventure in travel lovers across the world. Australia and New Zealand - Early December to early March Queen Elizabeth will operate six roundtrip voyages from Melbourne and two from Sydney, covering the popular regions of South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand as well as a new itinerary that features the exotic paradise of Papua New Guinea. For the irst time ever, a Cunard ship will be spending Christmas in Australia and Queen Elizabeth celebrates this with a stunning Christmas and New Year voyage to New Zealand. This 14 night round trip from Melbourne will spend Boxing Day cruising serenely in the Fiordland National Park (home of the beautiful Milford, Doubtful and Dusky sounds) and will ring in the New Year 2020 with an overnight stay in Auckland. The Papua New Guinea voyage is a 14 night Sydney round trip which includes four ports of call in the lush and diverse mainland of Papua New Guinea and its Islands. Two of these calls, Conlict Island and Kiriwina in the Trobriand Islands will be maiden calls for the Cunard brand. 8 Japan - mid April to early May Cunard s Japanese deployment will consist of three nine-night round trip voyages and one of seven nights, embarking from the port of Yokohama, close to the heart of the capital city of Tokyo. The nine night voyages will highlight the multi-faceted nature and deep cultural roots of Japan s main islands of Honshu and Kyushu and are timed to take in the spectacular spring blooms across the region. The seven night cruise coincides with Golden week which is one of Japan s busiest holiday seasons and includes a maiden call to Fukuoka for the Dontaku festival. Overall, Queen Elizabeth will make ive maiden calls to Japanese ports in 2020, giving our guests a taste of the real Japan that will delight passengers across the world. Other Voyages Southampton to Melbourne The initial route out from Southampton to Australia in November 2019 will follow the classic routing via Cape Town and Fremantle to Melbourne. The voyage will take in the Atlantic Islands and Namibia on the way to South Africa and visits the Indian Ocean islands of Reunion and Mauritius en route to Australia. Guests can choose to disembark in Fremantle for Perth or stay on board to travel to Adelaide and Melbourne. Sydney to Yokohama At the end of the Australian home port voyages in March, Queen Elizabeth will travel north to Japan via Southeast Asia. The voyage will include a variety of exotic and iconic Asian destinations such as Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China and South Korea. Yokohama to Vancouver Following the period of dedicated Japan cruises, the ship will cross the North Paciic and Gulf of Alaska en route to Vancouver. This voyage will take in northern Japan, the remote and stunning Russian district of Sakhalin on the way to Alaska and British Columbia. 14 Queen Mary 2 will operate Cunard s only World Voyage in 2020 and will undertake her classic East-West Voyage to Australia and Asia, with the Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean and Southern Africa. The World Cruise can be taken as a round trip from either New York (113 Nights) or Southampton (99 nights). Shorter voyage options exist, ranging in length from one to three weeks and can be combined in many ways allowing guests to create the ideal travel experience from and to the iconic city of their choice. The beginning of the voyage is routed via the Mediterranean Sea and Suez Canal to the Arabian Gulf and across the Indian Ocean, entering Asia via the Malacca Straits.
