9 CONCLUSIONS Yachting & Superyachting represent high value added tourism: St. Martin s Marine industry exceeds its Hotel & Restaurants contribution to the island Docks & ongoing Repair & Maintenance are opportunities for the Caribbean: St. Martin & Antigua have captured the «yacht base» business while serving primarily the cruising grounds of St. Barts, Antigua & the BVI Southern Caribbean opening up to bring more yachts down to stay & visit: St. Lucia (Rodney Bay & Marigot Bay marinas) and Grenada (Port Louis marina) Barbados (Port St. Charles + new marina planned) opening up to this market Guadeloupe offering a 50m floating dock / superyacht repair center Martinique in Le Marin with advanced plans for a major Dockyard upgrade (12M ) and marina Docks (up to LOA 100m) Superyachts while on cruise spending 67% of their time on 1 to 4 day-stays at each destination: Captain s strongly dislike to have to make guests wait to be able to go ashore Electronic clearances done in advance will make the Caribbean easy to visit and the greater will be the business for all islands!
