This navy blue shirt, featuring the updated DOF Group logo, is appropriate for all regions. All employees onshore and offshore (excluding DOF Brasil for this round due to their roll out this summer) will be getting one of these new polo-shirts. For staff onshore the shirts will be handed out in office. For crew every ship needs to make an order in TMv2 for one shirt pr. crew member. Please note that the shirts for men are a bit big in size. 3 Skandi Aker Travelogue Captain Ketil Morgan Karlsen, Skandi Aker As everybody knows, Skandi Aker was delivered as OCSV in November 2010 to DOF. After the delivery and the entire test was performed. We went into a period of construction work in Ghana were we were involved with getting the first oil for Tullow, and saw the first flare boom ignited. Some construction work for DOF Subsea in the North Sea was also performed successfully. Then AKOFS started the challenge of converting her to a Ship Shaped Deepwater Riser Well Intervention and the first vessel in DOF to be classified according to DNV Well Notation. The work started first in Norway and then AKOFS decided to bring the vessel into Maritex shipyard in Tallinn were we spent a lovely summer even all the work that was going on. We then set sail for Moldefjorden for a short test before we sailed in to Tomrefjorden and STX Langsten. The deep water riser concept on an OCV is new to the industry that brought up many design & re-design issues as further into the conversion we went. In between the shipyard stay, a lot of testing had to be done and procedures to be made, and most of the test was performed in Sognefjorden. The Very first time we were in Sognefjorden about to start testing we were suddenly given orders to head for Mongstad to become part of emergency response team ( also known as the hell fighter ship according to the newspaper) for Total Elgin Gas Leak. April 2012 we arrived in Mongstad to demobilize before heading for Peterhead were mobilization for the gas leak had to commence. After 2 months in Peterhead we were given the go ahead to go back to Norway. After nearly 3 years of outfitting, testing and commissioning we have now achieved our initial goal and 23:19 hours on the we finally landed successfully the stack on the DALIA 709 (Block 17) Angola. With winter approaching and the danger of being iced in, we loaded the equipment onboard and headed for Norway to finalize the design. We picked the Subsea Stack (LRP/ EDP) in Sandefjord and get some headlines in the newspaper and one of many Pølsefest was performed and enjoin by many visitors. Page 2

Communication Manager Following the standard set by Skandi Bergen, Skandi Captain left the shipyard in Denmark bearing yet another beautifully painted DOF logo. This is another milestone for the DOF Group s branding efforts towards making the connection between the Skandi name and the DOF brand. With 70 vessels in operations, the DOF vessels are an important branding channel for the DOF Group. How it is done: The logo stencil was delivered by an external graphics production supplier in Denmark. It came in three layers, for sticking the stencil to the side of the hull. Allignment was done by the use of small magnets. The yard workers then painted the DOF logo using vessel superstructure color code (White). They had to tweak the logo a little to fit the Marin Teknikk bow shape (looked a little odd at first, so we corrected it). Page 3

5 Sale of Skandi Bergen The DOF Subsea Group has entered into an agreement where the vessel Skandi Bergen is sold to an international buyer. Delivery to the new owners is expected early Based on today s USD/NOK exchange rate estimated gain on sale of tangible assets will be approximately NOK 200 million. From CEO, Mons Aase: The Skandi Bergen is truly a great vessel, where all of our lessons learned from the newbuilding team, marine crew and the project teams have been incorporated. The sale price achieved reflects the high quality of the vessel and is an acknowledgement of the DOF Group s state of the art fleet. It will be sad to see the Skandi Bergen leave the DOF fleet in early 2014, however the sale will increase the financial solidity of the Group and help ensure that we have the financial strength to support growth within the various business areas of the Group. As the vessel was designated for subsea project activity in the Atlantic region, we are currently in the market to hire third party vessels in order to execute the increased activity in the region. The strategy plan for the Atlantic region is unchanged, and the sale is a part of the long-term strategy for the DOF fleet. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all employees that have contributed in the building of the Skandi Bergen. 6 European Expert in Maintenance Management Certificate Jørgen Samuelsen - MMS Manager Jørgen Sjo Samuelsen started in DOF Management AS in October 2009 as Senior MMS Coordinator, and he has 18 years experience within the field of maintenance and maintenance management, where the last 7 years has been within the Shipping Industry. First year in DOF he managed the maintenance and purchasing system in DOF Management, and continue with the implementation of TMv2 as common Maintenance Management System (MMS) for all vessels- and subsea assets in the DOF Group. In line with the extensive growth of DOF the last years, a Global MMS Team was established in DOF Management for Maintenance Management and to provide Global MMS Support. Maintenance Management: To gain more knowledge about modern maintenance management he attended a course organized by the Norwegian Society for Maintenance (NFV), The Path to World Class Maintenance and passes the exam: European Expert in Maintenance Management. This certification is approved by the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFMNS). The certification is based on the specification of the minimum qualification requirements for a Maintenance Manager. The knowledge I acquired through the course and independent study against the certification will form an important basis in my work within DOF s maintenance management. Continuous improvement of the maintenance management process is an important factor to improve upon company- and operational performance and ensure sustainability for DOF in the future. Jørgen Sjo Samuelsen Manager Maintenance Management DOF Skandi Saigon & Skandi Stord in SAR Operation Skandi Saigon Bridge Around 0630 a passenger was reported missing from the Shetland Ferry while inbound for Aberdeen. Aberdeen, Peterhead and Fraserburgh lifeboats scrambled and started co-ordinating a rescue operataion. Shortly there after Skandi Saigon and Skandi Stord, which were anchored in Aberdeen bay, called Aberdeen Coastguard to volunteer. Over 20 merchant ships, 2 helicopters and 3 life boats where engaged in the SAR-mission, which lasted from early morning to sunset, covering a large area. On Skandi Saigon all available crew were scrambled to the bridge for lookout. The FRC was stand-by and used to check out possible objects, which unfortunately turned out to be only drifting canvas and some clothing. In this operation, Norwegian ship owners were over-represented: bulk carriers from Wilson, a tanker form Knutsen OAS, vessels from DOF, Olympic, Havila, Solstad, Simon Møgster and Gulfmark Norge; all showing good seamanship by participating in the search for the missing person. Even with all of the efforts late into the evening, we were unfortunately not able to find the missing person. Page 5

8 Events Skandi Caledonia transferred to DOF The ownership of Skandi Caledonia was formally transferred to DOF ASA on the 4th September Skandi Saigon Registy now NIS On Monday the 16 September, Skandi Saigon changed the register from NOR to NIS, with new call sign LDFR3.
