The rustic city of Ketchikan has been called the totem pole capital of the world. Tours show off the city's streets, restored from the pioneer days; the harbor's salmon canneries; and the world's oldest

4 collection of totem poles at the Totem Heritage Centre. Sportfishing, kayaking, hiking, bear watching and Misty Fjords seaplane excursions are also popular. Secluded in the Tongass National Forest, Tracy Arm boasts some of the most spectacular views in rth America. At the head of the fjord, you will observe dramatic views of the twin Sawyer Glaciers, which are surrounded by towering mountains that rise over 7,000 feet over the blue water. Other popular excursions include cruising along the straits and sounds of the Tongass National Forest, prospecting for gold at the original site of gold discovery or visiting the Alaska State Museum and the Alaska Brewing Company.

5 Skagway - As the northernmost point of the Inside Passage, the town reflects its mining past in the false-front buildings and gold rush relics. Tourists can experience the majesty of White Pass summit and the Yukon territory aboard the railway, paddle to Glacier Bay and Chilkoot Bald Eagle Preserve, get a close-up view of the natural beauty on a wilderness safari, soar over glaciers on a helicopter tour or, for those who catch the fever, pan for gold. Victoria revels in its English essence at the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island. Afternoon teas, double-decker buses and English inns, gardens and pubs are common in this capital city. The most popular attraction is the world-famous Butchart Gardens, flaunting 50 acres of floral magnificence. Other must-sees include the historic Empress Hotel, the Scottish-style Craigdarroch Castle and the Royal British Columbia Museum, where tourists will find a reconstruction of a turn-of-the-century street. DAY 10 Reykjavik Grand Excursion & Whale Watching Enjoy a trip out to sea to see the whales and on land to get to know the capital city of Iceland. Start the day on a whale watching tour, operated from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík. The most commonly seen whales on this tour are the minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins and porpoises but other species are sometimes spotted as well. After an invigorating tour out at sea, we go on to explore Reykjavík and learn about its history and culture. Among the stops on the way are Hallgrímskirkja church, Bessastaðir, the official residence of the President of Iceland, and Harpa. Day 11 The Golden Circle & The Lava Tunnel See Iceland above and underground. Begin the day with witnessing the inner workings of a volcanic eruption while we walk in the path of a lava that flowed thousands of years ago. The lava tunnel is one of the biggest in Iceland and gets up to 30 metres wide and 10 metres high. The lava tube ceiling has caved in near the entrance, which creates beautiful columns of light. The fantastic range of colours of the tunnel wall is caused by the different mineral types of the rock. This is a tour for the senses. Experience a new world, hear the talk of the cave and sense the forces of nature like you have never done before. Learn new things and step out of your comfort zone. Scenes from the Hollywood movie ah, with Anthony Hopkins, were shot in this lava cave.

7 After the tour we drive back to Reykjavík where you have one and a half hour before the next tour departs. This gives you time to take a stroll downtown or have a picnic by the pond, which is only a short walk away from BSÍ Bus Terminal. The next tour takes you to three of Iceland s most stunning sights; Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park. The Geysir geothermal area boasts spouting springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland. All geysers in the world get their name from the now mostly dormant Geysir hot spring, from which the area also gets its name. At Gullfoss you are given the opportunity to stand next to the amazing waterfall, watching enormous quantities of water tumble violently into a deep, meandering gorge. Day 12 Reykjavík - Blue Lagoon Spoil yourself by bathing in the famous Blue Lagoon on your visit to Iceland. The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The spa is located in a lava field in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula, southwestern Iceland in a location favourable for Geothermal power, and is supplied by water used in the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power station. Tour includes return bus fare and admission to the Blue Lagoon Day 13 rthern Lights by Boat Today is a free day during the day to explore Iceland at leisure. This evening we will go hunting the northern lights from the ocean is an amazing experience; sailing away from the coastline of Reykjavik and seeing the aurora borealis out on the rth-atlantic ocean with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you won't forget. During the tour our expert guide will tell you all about the northern lights, the folklore and superstition, as well as explaining the underlying scientific facts that make this magical light show possible. The tour takes 2 3 hours, departing

8 from Reykjavík s old harbour; viewing the beautiful coastline of the capital and the city lights on the way out to search for the lights. In only minutes we will be on a prime location for viewing the auroras. Included are warm overalls since it does get chilly in the winter and usually much of the time is spent outside gazing at the night sky. Day 14 South Shore Adventure his tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. We take you along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country s most scenic regions, as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs. South Iceland is special for that it is one of the flattest regions on the island. Because of that, most of all grain farming in Iceland is done there. The high mountains to the north, shield the area from the harshest winds from the north. Among the stops on this tour are at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to walk behind it. Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. The waterfall was also used in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. We will also stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be dangerous, and we kindly ask our guests not to go too close to the ocean and go by guidelines. Additionally, we will stop by Sólheimajökull and walk up to a small lake which has formed in front of the retreating glacier. DAY 16 Fly from Reykavik to Seattle Your tour of Iceland comes to an end today. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Seattle USA. In summer, the area attracts almost as many visitors to its trails, waters and rock faces. Peer into turquoise Lake Louise in Banff National Park, three miles from the town of the same name, and be amazed by the colour.
