PG3501 Maritime Safety and Prevention of Marine Pollution, Asia & Pacific Islands A regional training course for simulator instructors from Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam was held in Singapore from 21 to 25 June A sub-regional training course for maritime English instructors from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam was held in Haiphong, Vietnam from 14 to 25 June A national training course on flag State implementation is scheduled to be held in Myanmar in November A national training course on safety regulations for non-convention sized ships is scheduled to be held in Vietnam in November PG3604 Maritime Development in the Pacific Islands & Asia PG9006 (global) A regional training course for instructors, examiners and assessors from Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu is scheduled to be held in Suva, Fiji from 31 August to 10 September A regional seminar on implementation of the 1993 Torremolinos Protocol for China, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Russian Federation, Thailand and Vietnam is scheduled to be held in Beijing, China from 21 to 24 September CIS/EASTERN EUROPE PR177 Regional plan for the co-ordination of SAR and GMDSS, Black Sea PR476 Seminars on facilitation of international maritime traffic A training course on SAR and GMDSS for Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russian Federation, Turkey and Ukraine was held in Constanza, Romania from 30 March to 2 April A regional FAL seminar scheduled for the Eastern European countries in September 2004 has been postponed to 2005.

Training courses IMO Model course 3.21 for Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO)(two courses) were held in Venezuela in March 2004; IMO Model course for PFSO was held in Guatemala in May and a Course for ISPS Code auditors in July 2004; and IMO Model course 3.21 for PFSO was held in St Kitts & Nevis in May Regional A course for ISPS Code auditors for Central America and the Dominican Republic was held in Panama in May 2004; A sub-regional seminar/workshop on the implementation of the ISPS Code scheduled to be held in July 2004 for Dominica, Grenada and St. Lucia has been postponed to 2005; and A refresher course on the ISPS Code is to be held for the Caribbean States & territories in Jamaica before the end of 2004 PG9009 Train the Trainers programme for Maritime security(global) The Secretariat has prepared and is conducting in 2004 sub-regional train-the-trainers courses in the following venues: Singapore, Canada, South Africa, Ghana and Dubai in Regional training courses have also been scheduled for 2005 for: Eastern and Southern Africa in Tanzania; West and Central Africa in Senegal; Arab States in Tunisia; Mediterranean countries in Malta; Pacific Islands in New Zealand;
