5 DAY 1 - DEPART CANADA Evening departure to Seville, Spain. (In-flight Meals). DAY 2 - SEVILLE, SPAIN Welcome to Seville! Upon arrival we will be met by our private local guide and taking us on a panoramic city tour we will visit Plaza España, Maria Luisa park, Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 area (exhibition buildings). Then we continue our drive to our hotel for check-in followed by our late lunch. HOSPES HOTEL or similar - 2 nights. (In-flight Meals, L) DAY 3 - SEVILLE, SPAIN Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy Seville city tour and entrance to Cathedral and Giralda and Reales Alcazares. Situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Seville has a rich Moorish heritage, and used to be a prosperous port that carried out trade with the Americas. The streets and squares in the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia are lively and busy. They treasure many constructions that have the world heritage designation, and many districts are full of traditional culture, like Triana and La Macarena. The main monuments in town - the cathedral, the Reales Alcázares Palace and the general archive of the Indies - have the UNESCO World Heritage designation. The Gothic cathedral stands in the white-washed Santa Cruz neighborhood, built on the Almohad Great Mosque of Seville. Some of the Moorish elements still remain - the old minaret, which is the famous Giralda, and the orange tree Courtyard. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon is at leisure. Tonight enjoy a great Flamenco show and dinner. (B, L, D) DAY 4 - SEVILLE - CORDOBA - GRANADA After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Cordoba. Entrance to the Great Mosque. Cordoba is situated in the interior of Andalusia where past and modernity blend in together. This thousand-yearold city, which has the world heritage designation, is a living legacy of the different cultures that settled here throughout its history. Not many places in the world can say they have been the capital of Hispania Ulterior (Further Spain) under the Roman Empire, and capital of the Umayyad Caliphate. This splendor can also be seen because of the intellectualism of this city of knowledge, where figures like Seneca, Averroes or Maimonides were born. If you walk round the old quarter you will discover a beautiful network of alleyways, squares and white-washed courtyards surrounding the great mosque-cathedral, which reflects the importance of the city in the middle ages, and is the symbol of the city. Lunch at local restaurant. Departure to Granada. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival. MELIA GRANADA HOTEL or similar - 2 nights. (B, L) DAY 5 - GRANADA, SPAIN Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit Alhambra in the morning. The Alhambra is a beautiful complex of buildings and gardens. Its leafy tree-lined walkways provide pleasant shade and coolness, enhanced by the abundance of water that flows in its streams. It was the largest political and aristocratic center of the Muslim West. The Palace premises comprise beautiful rectangular courtyards and numerous fountains, as well as the Nasrid buildings that served as living quarters for the monarchs and their servants. The oldest building is the Alcazaba citadel. One of the most important structures is the La Vela tower, which offers one of the loveliest views of the Alhambra. The courtyard of the Lions with its fountains is one of the most beautiful in the compound. Lunch will be a local restaurant. Free afternoon to explore this city on your own. (B, L) DAY 6 - GRANADA - MADRID, SPAIN After breakfast we depart for Madrid, capital city of Spain. We will make a halfway stop in the town of Valdepenas, where you will enjoy lunch and wine cellar tour. Then we continue on to Madrid. Dinner will be at our hotel. Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a cosmopolitan city that combines the most modern infrastructures and the status as an economic, financial, administrative and service center, with a large cultural and artistic heritage, a legacy of centuries of exciting history. Strategically located in the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula at an altitude of 646 m above sea level, Madrid has one of the most important historic centers of all the great European cities. The historic center, also known as the "Madrid of Los Austrias" (in reference to the Hapsburg monarchs), and the spectacular Plaza Mayor square. Near the Plaza Mayor is the area known as the "aristocratic center" where the jewel in the crown is the Royal Palace, an imposing building dating from the 17th century featuring a mixture of Baroque and classicist styles. Beside it is the Plaza de Oriente square, the Teatro Real opera house, and the modern cathedral of La Almudena, The Puerta del Sol square is surrounded by a varied and select area of shops and businesses, and the "Paseo del Arte" art route whose name derives from its world-class museums, palaces and gardens are further elements in an array of monuments which includes particularly the Bank of Spain building, the Palace of Telecommunications, and the fountains of Cibeles and Neptune. 6 DAY 8 - MADRID - TOLEDO - MADRID, SPAIN Today you will enjoy another excursion with lunch outside the city of Madrid. Toledo is one of the Spanish cities with the greatest wealth of monuments. Known as the city of the three cultures, because Christians, Arabs and Jews lived together there for centuries, behind its walls Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues. This great diversity of artistic styles makes the old quarter of the capital of Castile - La Mancha a real open-air museum, which has led to it being declared a World Heritage Site. The same Mudejar style can be seen in the church of Santo Tomé, famous for housing El Greco's famous picture entitled El entierro del Conde Orgaz (The burial of Count Orgaz). A 14th -century Mudejar tower stands above the rest of the building, which dates from the 12th century and has Visigothic elements on its main façade. One of the most outstanding buildings in the city is the Cathedral, considered one of the high points of Gothic art. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. (B, L) DAY 9 - MADRID - SALAMANCA - VEGA TERRON, PORTUGAL Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you will depart Madrid for an excursion to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the center of Spain s Castilla y León region. You will have free time to explore on your own, followed by a guided city tour that includes the university buildings, Salamanca Cathedral and the uniquely adorned House of Shells. Lunch will be served at one of the local restaurant. Later, you will be transferred to Vega Terrón to board your river ship AMAVIDA with AMAWaterways your home for the next 7 nights. This evening, meet your fellow passengers at the Captain s Welcome Dinner. (B, L, D) DAY 10 - VEGA TERRÓN - PINHÃO, PORTUGAL After breakfast, tour Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, a small fortified village perched high on a hilltop with steep, narrow streets and incredible views. We will stop to taste some of the area s freshly harvested produce. Rejoin the ship in Barca d Alva and enjoy lunch on board before departing early this afternoon for Pinhão. After arriving this evening, you will be treated to Moscatel de Favaios (a sweet fortified wine) and traditional Portuguese foods at a wine estate, Quinta Avessada. Your dinner with the quinta s owner and his delightful family will be an unforgettable highlight of your trip. The ship moors overnight in Pinhão. (B, L, D) DAY 11 - PINHÃO, PORTUGAL This morning, you will have an excursion to ancient and picturesque Lamego, home to one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Portugal, the Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies). Other attractions include a Gothic cathedral, a museum, and charming cafés. In the afternoon experience a unique port wine tasting at Quinta do Seixo, a lovely 108-acre country estate that offers an interactive wine museum and breathtaking views of steeply terraced hillside vineyards, the Douro River and the nearby village of Pinhão. All port made here is destined for Sandeman, a company known around the world for its quality wines. (B, L, D) DAY 12 - RÉGUA, PORTUGAL This morning, enjoy an excursion to the palace and gardens known as the Palacio de Mateus, located in the beautiful region of Trásos-Montes near the city of Vila Real. The interior of the house features various religious images and exquisite furniture, artwork, and hand-carved wooden ceilings. The exterior is equally stunning, with gardens that are among the most beautiful in all of Portugal. This afternoon your ship departs for Caldas de Aregos. The ship moors overnight. (B, L, D) DAY 13 - CALDAS DE AREGOS ENTRE-OS-RIOS Today you ll take an excursion to Quinta de Avelada, a historic family-owned wine estate near the city of Penafiel. Upon arrival, you ll enjoy a tour of the winery followed by a delicious wine and cheese tasting. Afterwards you will have some free time to explore the grounds and admire the estate s famous gardens before returning back to your ship. Later, cruise to Entre-Os-Rios, arriving 20

Savor a pre-dinner glass of port wine and the breathtaking view of the river valley from the terrace of the centuries-old Alpendurada Monastery, followed by a traditional home cooked meal. Your guided tour of the historical quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, includes the Cathedral, one of the city s oldest monuments; the main square, ringed with shops and cafes; and the São Bento Railway Station, known for its blue and white tile panels depicting scenes from Portuguese history. (B, L, D) DAY 15 - PORTO, PORTUGAL Today, enjoy an excursion to Guimarães, one of the most historic towns in Portugal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture in The birthplace of Portugal s first king, Guimarães claims to be the cradle of the nation and boasts a historic center that is one of the most attractive and bestpreserved in all of Portugal. Say farewell to your friends at the Farewell Cocktail party. The ship moors in Porto. (B, L, D) DAY 16 - PORTO FATIMA - LISBON, LISBON After breakfast we will disembark our river boat in Porto and travel to Fatima. This is one of the most important spiritual shrines in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Visit the Basilica to see the tombs of Jacinta and Francisco Marto, the Chapel of Apparitions where Our Lady appeared in 1917 and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Then make your way to Houses of the Three Children in the nearby village of Aljustrel and a little further on the village of Valinhos, where the 4th vision of the Virgin Mary took place. This is followed by a visit to the village of Loca do Anjo where the children were visited by the Virgin Mary on two occasions. After our lunch at a local restaurant we continue to Lisbon. Enjoy a full day Cascais & Sintra city tour with English speaking guide. Entrance fee to Sintra Palace included. The morning starts with a tour of the charming town of Sintra, colourful town houses nestled in the wooded Serra de Sintra valley give a romantic air to this once regular haunt for Portuguese Royalty. The Palacio Nacional and Palacio de Pena are a must with their yellow and red Neo Renaissance turrets and cupolas and sweeping views across Sintra and Cascais Natural Park. After Sintra you make your way to Cabo da Roca Europe s most westerly point, where the land ends and the sea starts Enjoy magnificent views across the Atlantic and the beaches of Cascais. This resort town offers many great shops and outdoor restaurants where you can have your own lunch with fresh seafood and other local specialties. Return to Lisbon late afternoon. Single occupancy rates for our packages are available upon request if not listed in our brochure. Please note that all our advertised prices, any special promotions and itineraries are subject to change without notice and at any time. Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. reserves the right to correct errors and omissions. 2. All our prices include your cruise with all your meals, entertainment and activities, round trip airfare from Toronto (where stated with the tour package or cruise, other Canadian departure cities are available upon request), transfers from airport to pier and/or hotel, all your shipboard gratuities (tipping) and all port and departure taxes (except for local taxes, that are payable by cash in person) such as airport improvement fees or visa entry fee in some countries, which cannot be pre-collected in advance by the cruise line and/or airlines. 3. Deposit requirements on our cruises, train and land/tour packages are listed below each itinerary. A $250 per person non-refundable fee will be charged on all reservations that are cancelled prior to the final payment. A $500 per person non-refundable fee will be charged on all river cruise/tour reservations that are cancelled prior to the final payment. From time to time different and higher penalties do apply to some special cruise, land or train tour packages, please see the inclusion box under each applicable package for more details. After final payment is made further penalties will apply. In most cases final penalties for our cruises and cruise/tours are as follow prior to departure (per person): day - $500 penalty will apply, days - 25% penalties will apply, 75 to 60 days - 50% penalties will apply, 59 to 31 days - 75% penalties will apply and 30 days or less prior to departure 100% penalties will apply, no refunds will be made for any portion of your package. Please Note: Train journeys have different penalty/cancelation structure as listed under each train tour. 4. All prices are subject to any new port, departure taxes, fees and surcharges (e.g. new fuel surcharges) that may be imposed by the airlines and/or the cruise lines at any time prior to your departure, even after your final payment has been made, these fees still can be applied to your invoice. 5. First class hotel stays (4 and 5 star equivalent or better) are included with our packages (where stated) in our cruise/tour itineraries, train and land tour packages offered by Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. 6. Most of our cruise/tours in this brochure are fully hosted/escorted from Toronto. *A minimum number of 20 participants is required for all of our cruises and cruise/tour departures in order to have an escort/host accompany the group from our office. If the number of participants falls below the required minimum, the cruise/tour will not be escorted by one of our hosts, but the price and all the inclusions are still being protected at our group pricing by Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. for your benefit. 7. Most cruise lines have adopted a new way of handling their documentation via internet. No longer will they provide printed documentation for their cruises in regards to shore excursions, pre-immigration, electronic airline tickets, and travel summary of transfers, hotel stays etc. Under the new process everyone will be responsible and required to complete their own pre registration online directly with the cruise line via their web site. Which also allows everyone to obtain the final cruise documents such as: Cruise e-boarding pass, airline s e-tickets and your travel summary. 8. If airfare for your cruise or cruise/tour is provided by the cruise line it is entirely at their discretion, as to the airline and flight schedule to be used. In most cases they are not assigned until about 3 to 4 weeks prior to your departure. Any special requests to change the schedule or airline from the one that has been assigned for you by the cruise line and/or tour operator will involve additional charges and fees imposed. Please note that cruise lines will allow to request air deviation prior to the final payment, which is subject to cruise line s final approval. These requests always will involve extra non-refundable charges and fees imposed by the cruise lines/air lines. Please note that, there may be also a differential fare difference on top of the deviation fee to be added to the booking which are non-refundable. Now, many airlines do impose extra charges and fees for checked baggage at airport check-in. These fees may vary from airline to airline and are subject to change without notice. Please note that no seat pre-assignments are allowed on flights issued by the cruise lines and/or the tour operators booked on a group block basis at any time. This is totally beyond Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. control. For those who don t wish to fly on a group basis, you may wish to arrange own independent flights for any of our packages in order to be able to fly with the airlines of your choice and be able to pre-assign seats to your own preference. 9. A booking also can be made on a guarantee basis, means that a certain rate is paid for a specific category. This guarantees a stateroom by the cruise line at the category that it was paid for. Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. strongly recommends Travel Insurance coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, medical, baggage, flight delay, due to weather, mechanical, etc. All insurance premiums must be issued prior to final payments and are non-refundable after been issued. 11. Please be advised that your Passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon the return from your trip and have at least 2-3 full blank pages in for any visas you may need while travelling. Each person is responsible to obtain any required entry visas and any necessary health vaccinations for countries visited, prior to your departure from Canada. 12. The Company and/or associated companies accept no responsibility for any losses, additional expense, distress, disappointments or frustrations, whether physical or mental, resulting from delays due to mechanical breakdowns, changes in flight, train, ship or other services, passengers' failure to obtain necessary tourist visa(s), government refusal to issue you a visa, your health problems or your disabilities existing prior to, arising during or as a result of your travel, weather, strikes, political unrests, quarantine or other causes or acts of God. All tour itineraries and fares may be affected by alteration in cruise ship, air or railroad service of the various countries and by other causes. The right is reserved for the Company to withdraw any tour announced in this program, substitute hotels, and to make such alterations in the itineraries as may be found necessary for the convenience of the parties and the proper execution of the tour(s). Such right is also reserved to decline, to accept or to expel any person as a member of any cruise or tour at any time whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the cruise/tour group without any refunds. The Company also reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure. In such case, full refund of all payments will constitute full settlement with the passenger. The passengers' contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and purchaser of these tours and/or passenger. Any and/or all transportation companies herein mentioned shall have or incur no responsibility or liability to any travellers aside from their liability as common carriers. The Company's associated parties reserve the right to make alterations or adjustments to the arrangements as may be necessary.
