Bearing yard number F73 and later named Magari by her lucky Owner, this luxurious motor yacht marked the start of the new Vintage Series. This new collection of exclusive vessels has been specially created by the Italian shipyard to bring back into the limelight a classic style with a timeless appeal that of the legendary navettes in vogue in the early years of the last century in both Europe and North America. Not only navettes but also fast commuters, like those used by high finance tycoons to travel between their Manhattan offices and their exclusive residences, or those that became historically famous as the preferred motorboats of US presidents. These vessels stood out for their utterly unmistakable aesthetic featuring a hull with a high vertical prow, elegantly combined with soaring sides and extended aft sections.

In this issue of Yacht Première, we have the privilege of presenting a portrait of the second Codecasa 42, this time with yard number F75, which as we go to press has yet to receive a name from her future purchaser. Like her sister ship F73, which won Best Interior Design in 2011 at the Nautical Design Awards Motoryachts Section, the new F75 also has an interior design by Annamaria and Franco Della Role. However, although the decorative style of the two vessels has affinities in terms of the formal concept and basic choices, such as the ivory finish of the woods used for the cladding of the walls and furniture, some different solutions have also been used on board the new yacht, such as the large dark mahogany strips used to cover the floors of the interiors. The interiors have also been further embellished with marble inlays, while the feeling of light in the fittings has been enhanced by the selection of fabrics for the furniture and panels, specially selected in pale tones ranging from ivory white to beige and cream to colourful. Different hues also distinguish the aesthetic of the sister ships at first glance, while they share the same exterior design in solid, reassuring shapes crafted by Codecasa s in-house staff, they each have two-tone livery in different colour combinations: the F73 has a hull painted dark blue and a superstructure painted pure white, while F75 has a hull painted pearl grey and a superstructure in ivory white. Launched at the Darsena yard in Viareggio in June last year and completed the following month, the new Codecasa 42 Vintage Series F75 build was produced with naval architecture developed by Codecasa s in-house team in accordance with the Lloyd s Register of Shipping (LRoS) classification standards for Maltese Cross, 100 A1, SSC Yacht, MONO G6 and LMC, and also complies with the requirements of the MCA regulations. The all-metal yacht has been built using an AH36 high-resistance steel hull and two types of light aluminium alloy for the superstructure, 5083 H111 and H321. The vessel has a length overall of metres, or 139 feet 5 inches, a beam overall of 9.00 metres, or 29 feet 6 inches, and a maximum draught of 2.60 metres, or 8 feet 6 inches. Under full load, the yacht s displacement is 430 tonnes, while her lightship displacement is 350 tonnes. The engine room contains two Caterpillar 3512C engines, each with maximum power of 1,230 kw / 1,650 BHP supplied at 1,800 rpm. These are connected to ZF 4661 reduction gearboxes to power the Detra S-class 5-blade propellers. With lightship displacement, the yacht has a top speed of knots, while when travelling at the cruising speed of 11 knots, the vessel has a range of 4,000 nautical miles. 00

Consequently, this brand new yacht offers a highly advantageous relationship between initial investment and operational management costs. Moreover, in spite of her relatively limited length, the Codecasa 42 Vintage Series F75 build offers large internal spaces and extensive external areas, distributed across three decks plus the sun deck. As this luxury motor yacht was expressly designed for ocean crossings, she has a layout suitable for long stays on board, carefully designed to accommodate up to 12 passengers (in one master stateroom and four guest staterooms), as well as up to eight crew (in one captain s cabin and three crew cabins). On the huge panoramic sun deck with its fully equipped bar section protected by a hard top supported by the main mast, forward there is a relaxation area with sofa and coffee tables, and to aft a sunbathing area with sun beds. The bridge deck to aft features an additional sunbathing area with sun beds as well as open air storage for the service and emergency tender, not to mention an alfresco covered dining area with a dining table and chairs. Inside, there is a well-lit sky lounge, equipped with two sofas and coffee tables, a fully equipped pantry connected to the galley below via a dumb-waiter, a lobby with a practical day head / powder room, and the wheelhouse with a pilot s chair and instrumentation panel. The basic choice for the interiors is the ivory finish of the woods used for the cladding of the walls and furniture, combined with large dark mahogany strips used to cover the floors. 125
