2 Bahamas Performance Tour 2015 Information Packet Please take the time to carefully read this packet of information regarding the trip. Enclosed you will find helpful tips for our field trip and forms that need to be returned. A tentative itinerary is also attached. Passport It is mandatory to have a US Passport to travel to the Bahamas. Any person not having a passport will not be allowed to board the ship and will not receive a refund for their cruise. Everyone needs to send to Mr. Conley a copy of the inside of your passport, by October 15, Attitude and Behavior Each student is a representative of our band, our school, Chesterfield County and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Students must behave in a manner that will reflect positively upon themselves and the organization they represent, at all times. Chesterfield County Public School Policy This trip is an official school field trip. All the rules regarding attitude, behavior, dress, alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, over the counter drugs, and prescription drugs are applicable as stated by the Chesterfield County Schools Standards for Student Conduct. Please consult your student handbook for specific information. Please recall the zero tolerance policy regarding drugs, alcohol and tobacco products. Mr. Conley s rules: At no time, may a student enter the cabin of a student of the opposite sex. Unless stated otherwise, all students will be in their cabins at 11:00 p.m. and lights out, TV s off, etc. at 11:30 p.m. Students may not leave their rooms during the night, unless there is an emergency. A chaperone will be on duty in the hall every night to monitor our security. Remember: our chaperone groups will stay together at all times off the ship. While on board, students are responsible to inform their chaperone of their location. Once assigned, you may not change chaperone groups. Ship Rules

3 We want your cruise to be a pleasant experience. The following rules will be enforced. 1. No Noise in cabin areas after 11:00 pm 2. Abuse of physical property will not be tolerated 3. No abusive or offensive language 4. No drinking of alcoholic beverages for those under the age of Purchase, possession and consumption of illegal drugs will not be tolerated. 6. Large radios ( boom boxes ) are not permitted on board. Headphones must be used with radios on deck The Bars and casinos on board ship are off-limits to the students. Drugs are prevalent in the Bahamas. Keep in mind that the majority of people trying to sell drugs are undercover agents, however, should you be approached to buy any type of drug JUST SAY NO! Should anyone be arrested in the Bahamas, you are out of the jurisdiction of the United States government and will be at the mercy of the Bahamian Government. Their jails are very outdated and their justice system harsh. Any incident will not be tolerated. Failure to comply with the above alcohol and illegal drugs guidelines set by the Cruise Line, Super Holiday Tours, and Clover Hill High School may result in the offender(s) being removed from the ship once we reach the next port of call. The offender(s) will have to make their own arrangements to arrive back home at his/her own expense and for the chaperone that has to stay with them until their parents arrive. Clover Hill High School will not be liable for your child s illegal conduct - the parent/guardian will be held responsible. This will be costly, perhaps as much as $3,000. Traveling From Clover Hill to Port Charleston & Back We will depart CHHS early Friday evening. I suggest bringing some light snacks and no more than two cans of beverage with you for the southbound trip. We are planning a breakfast stop. You will need money to buy breakfast. We will go directly from CHHS to board the Fantasy 5. This means the clothes you wear on the bus will be the clothes you wear to board. Each passenger must have in their own possession travel documents including Passport and his or her own tickets when checking in at Embarkation. These items will be collected and distributed by your chaperone. In a small carry-on bag, pack basic essential toiletry articles to "freshen-up" upon arrival to your cabin and your swimsuit. Your suitcases will be delivered to your cabin. You may not have access to the suitcase until Friday afternoon. The bus ride northbound will include one fast food meal stop students will need to have money. Bus Etiquette We will be traveling in 55 passenger coaches with a lavatory. All seats will be in use. The buses will contain a video system remember we only watch PG 13, PG, and G rated movies. It should have Wi-Fi and power outlets, too (no guarantee) Limitations No food or beverages of any kind may be brought on ship. This includes bottled water. Fruits and vegetables are not permitted from a foreign country into the United States. There is a costly fine.

4 What to Wear The weather should be very comfortable. Shorts and t-shirts will be the normal dress during the day. (T-shirts with offensive slogans are prohibited.) Don t forget your bathing suits, and please make sure the style is in good taste. (No string bikinis or thongs) During the daytime, dress in the dining room is not formal. You may also wear your bathing suit with a cover-up while in the dining areas. Shoes must be worn at all times. (Sandals are acceptable.) We do dress up for the dinners all three nights. No jeans, shorts, or t-shirts are allowed in the dining room at night. The following is suggested: Informal Ladies: dress pants, casual dress or skirt and blouse. Gentlemen: dress pants, polo shirt or open collar shirt without tie Formal Captain s Dinner Ladies: can wear prom dresses, any dressy Sunday dress or a semi-formal dress will be fine. Gentlemen: dress slacks and shirt, sport coat, and tie. A tuxedo is also appropriate but not required. Your Sail and Sign account must be set up with a valid credit card, cash, or travelers check upon check-in. No business or personal checks of any kind will be accepted. The birth date of the cardholder is entered into the master computer on the ship and anyone under the age of 21 will not be able to purchase alcohol. It is not necessary to buy any extra food on board ship with all that is available. Iced tea, water, milk, and coffee/tea are included with meals. Juices are offered at breakfast. Soft drinks onboard ships are approximately $2.50 per 20 oz bottle, which does not include a gratuity. An Unlimited Soft Drink Card can be purchased for about $20. This card provides unlimited fountain soft drinks, not bottled or canned items. Swimming Swimming will only be permitted if parental permission is granted. A swimming pool is available on the ship with no lifeguard on duty. Be safe, horseplay will not be tolerated. 24 Hour Medical Supervision A doctor is on board 24 hours a day should any medical attention be required. A professional fee will be charged for medical examinations and medication required.
