2 Page 2 Newsletter Visit the archipelago along the coast of Trøndelag NEW DESTINATION - FRØYA Trondheim Port Authority is responsible for several destinations within the region of Trøndelag. Namsos already received 2 cruise calls in 2018 by Phoenix Reisen. This year we have launched Frøya as our potentially new cruise destination. Frøya and Hitra are islands along the coast of Trøndelag. Vessels up to 180m length can dock there and explore this remote paradise. An excursion manual was put together this year. Sivertsen Expanding season from February to October INCREASED OFF-SEASON CALLS This year we had 9 off-season calls and expecting even more in In March and April AidaVita and AidaCara even stayed over night. Fred Olsen Cruises and Cruise & Maritime Voyages called too, even as late as November. In 2019 Aida Cruises will open the season in February and continue calling throughout October. 3 Page 3 Newsletter CRUISE EXCURSIONS IN TRONDHEIM 8 new excursions this year This year we added yet another 8 new tours to the existing program. We focused on creating more offthe beaten track as well as culinary tour offers. The region of Trøndelag has much more to offer. We would like your guests to travel deeper and get the chance to visit the old mining town of Røros that is on the UNESCO World Heritage list or offer the guests to see muskox in their only wild habitat in Europe. In order to expand the cruise tourists reach, berthing time needs to be at least 12 hours. In 2018 we had 7 overnight calls, 5 of them with Aida Cruises. INFORMATION IS CRUCIAL As previously we will have locals in traditional costume welcoming the guests upon arrival handing out free city maps the first couple of hours. In 2018, an average of 82% of the guests left the ship to discover the city within the first 3 hours of berth. We will continue to send a mail to the cruise agents two days prior to every call to inform the ship about opening hours and What s on in Trondheim during the call. AidaSol called 11 times TURNAROUND PORT FOR PULLMANTUR In 2018 we handled 7 turnarounds with Pullmanturs Zenith. In 2019 we will handle another 7 turnarounds with Zenith. Guests satisfaction: average score of 85 We used Clarion Hotel&Congress 5 times and the facilities at Pirsenter twice. Both facilities received the same average score. Our hard work got rewared: Pullmantur guests gave us an average score of 85 throughout the season. Zenith

A stairway down to the fjord is to be built by the city. Trondheim Port Authority is also considering other investments in infrastructure at the cruise quay. 5 Newsletter Page 5 TRONDHEIM - A PORT IN DEVELOPMENT The building of our new bollard (200 t) was finished this summer. It is located 240m west of the cruise quay. At the same time we created more space for the excursion busses (up to 20) The new bollard also marks the edge of the roundabout that will be paved come Here, the buses can easily turn around to get to their designated parking spot. We also bought a moveable container that has a railing and a stairway that can be used to slacken descend on the sometimes steeper gangway. Additionally we now have a 8m and 12m gangway for rent. 200 t bollard built in 2018 TERMS, CONDITIONS AND PRICES 2019 In 2019 we will implement a price scheme that is based on EPI (Environmental Port Index). Being registered and using EPI will be worth it. Vessels registered with ESI (Environmental Ship Index) will also have advantages. DNV GL is creating a homepage where data can be entered and the EPI score will be calculated. The EPI project is led by Even Husby at Bergen Port Authority. 12 Norwegian ports are part of EPI, but only a few will implement it come The complete document will be shared with you as soon as it is available. Trondheim Cruise Network is a network consisting of private and public actors with a common interest in strengthening Trondheim s position as a port of call for cruise ships and coastal vessels. The primary goal for the network is to satisfy the cruise passengers and cruise lines. This will be achieved through product development and marketing of Trondheim, as well as improving the user experiences and facilities.
