1 San Juan Shore s You can choose from a variety of activities in San Juan to add to your Disney Cruise Line vacation fun! You may request your shore excursions through our Special Services team as early as 60 days prior to your scheduled sailing by calling New & Old San Juan City Tour (3 hours) Enjoy the best of both worlds. On this exciting tour of the city, you ll first explore New San Juan s sleek and ultramodern Condado and Isla Verde section. Here, contemporary condominiums and luxury hotels line the streets en route to Two Brothers Bridge, where you ll pause for a photo opportunity while taking in the stunning views. Then it s on to Old San Juan to visit the 17th-century San Cristobal Fort and pass by El Morro Castle and other historical monuments. Your last stop is Fortaleza Street, the city s main shopping area in the heart of Old San Juan. You may then choose to ride in comfort on the airconditioned tour bus or take a 20-minute stroll along the famed blue-cobblestone streets back to the ship. With elevations as high as 3,526 feet and 200 inches of rainfall a year, this 28,000-acre oasis teems with abundant flora and fauna. A scenic 1-hour ride to the rainforest will take you past quaint towns and rural communities for a glimpse of authentic island life. Upon arrival, your rainforest exploration begins at Baño Grande, a natural swimming pool, and continues with a 20-minute interpretive walking trail through the Palo Colorado Forest. Along the way, you ll observe a variety of unique vegetation and wildlife. After your hike, it s a short bus ride to a pair of excellent photo opportunities before taking the 1-hour return trip to the ship: the Yohaku Observation Tower for a bird s-eye view of the forest and the spectacular aquatic display at La Coca Waterfalls. This tour is more than a visit to the largest rum distillery in the world it s also a trip back in time as you learn about San Juan s fascinating history and the development of the island s sugar cane industry. After a 30-minute ride, your visit will include a stop at the Bacardi Theater for an informative history presentation and a demonstration on how to mix a variety of rum cocktails and sample the results. Your tour concludes with a visit to the Bacardi shops and museum before the 30-minute ride back to the ship. After a 1-hour drive, your adventure begins at Hacienda Buena Vista at the beautiful Palmas del Mar Resort, where you ll receive instructions before mounting a Puerto Rican Paso horse. Your equestrian escort will take you along the beautiful southeast coast of Puerto Rico, where you ll see the islands of Culebra and Vieques set like jewels in the sparkling waters of the Caribbean. You ll also enjoy verdant views of the southernmost part of the lush El Yunque rainforest. After your ride, you ll stop at the ranch for refreshments before the 1-hour return trip to the ship. 2 San Juan Shore s (cont.) Pinones Preserve Bike Tour (3 3.5 hours) Freewheeling fun! A 30-minute ride to the Piñones area in Carolina takes you to this cycling opportunity. Helpful guides will provide you with instructions, bottled water, bikes and helmets for a scenic ride. This 11/2- to 2-hour tour along an oceanfront boardwalk and mangrove trails features spectacular scenery, including the Piñones Marshlands. The terrain is primarily flat with a slight incline. And remember to wear swimming attire under your biking clothes: At the end of the trail, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the ocean prior to the 30-minute ride back to the ship. After a 1-hour bus ride to Seven Seas Beach in the town of Fajardo, get ready for the eco adventure of a lifetime. First, you ll meet with the friendly staff for an informative orientation before gearing up for aquatic excitement. The crystalline waters of Seven Seas await your exploration via kayak and snorkeling you ll have approximately 2 to 21/2 hours to kayak and swim among colorful reefs abundant with living coral and a variety of fascinating sea creatures. Afterwards, it s a 1-hour trip back to the ship. Please note: The maximum allowable weight for kayakers is 250 lbs. Adult Price: $79 (ages 10 and up) Departure Time: 8:45 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. Hyatt Dorado Beach Golf (7 7.5 hours) Try a new course of action! Casual duffers and scratch golfers alike will love teeing off at the scenic Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort, where a pair of par 72 courses designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. awaits. After a 1-hour ride to the course, you can play where the pros play amid rolling fairways, scenic vistas and challenging shots. Bring your own clubs or rent a set of Callaway from the resort, and you re ready for a great day of golf! Greens fees and a shared golf cart are included. Enjoy a relaxing round before taking the 1-hour return trip to the ship. Adult Price: $159 (ages 10 and up) Departure Time: 7:45 a.m. Catamaran Sail & Snorkel (5 5.5 hours) Time for a cool change. A 1-hour bus ride takes you to a spacious catamaran. Once aboard, a delicious buffet lunch and complimentary bar await. After a sail to a secluded beach, the catamaran will drop anchor in knee-deep water so you can relax under the boat s shaded awning, catch some rays on the beach or snorkel in 3 to 20 feet of crystal-clear water. See if you can spot the many parrotfish, blue head wrasse, yellowtail, palometa and other marine life that call the Caribbean home before embarking on the 1-hour ride back to the ship. After a 1-hour ride to Fajardo, where you ll receive a safety orientation, it s time to board a comfortable boat for the 10-minute ride to the island of Icacos. At this scenic stop, you ll gear up for your snorkeling adventure. Enjoy a leisurely swim among the vibrant reefs, corals and fish before getting back on board for beverages and snacks. Old San Juan, the second-oldest European settlement in the New World, is best explored on foot as visitors have done for centuries. After a short bus ride to San Felipe del Morro Fort, a knowledgeable cultural guide will regale you with tales of the city s intriguing past as you visit historic sites. Points of interest include Ballaja Barracks, Las Americas Museum, Dominican Convent, La Rogativa Monument, El Convento, San Juan Cathedral, Felia Rincon Gautier Museum, Cristo Street and Cristo s Chapel, with a break for photographs along the way. After the tour, you may stay to shop at Cristo and Fortaleza streets and take the 20-minute walk back to the ship at your leisure. After a 1-hour ride, your destination is El Yunque Rainforest, the only tropical rainforest in United States territory. Put on you re walking shoes and stroll among wild orchids, waterfalls, giant ferns, tropical hardwoods and other natural wonders; your knowledgeable guide will point out flora and fauna along the way. And bring your camera you ll want to capture the panoramic views provided by the 3,000- foot-high peaks of the Luquillo Mountains. Your first trail stop will be at El Baño Grande, a natural swimming pool of crystal-clear water, and then it s off to the Yohaku Observation Tower for more photo opportunities. Your final destination is the spectacular La Mina Falls, where you ll be able to enjoy a refreshing swim remember to wear bathing attire under your clothes. Afterwards, the trip back to the ship is 1 hour. Please note: No strollers are permitted on this excursion. This tour transports you to the island s historic center with visits to the world s largest rum distillery and the blue-cobblestone streets of Old San Juan. At the distillery, you ll discover Puerto Rico s storied past, learn how to mix different Bacardi cocktails and receive a sample of the results. Then it s time to stroll amid the lacy wrought-iron balconies, wonderful shops and centuries-old structures of Old San Juan. Your tour will include stops at Fort San Cristobal and shopping time at Fortaleza Street, the city s famed retail district. From there, you may return to the ship via bus, or stay and browse before taking the 20-minute walk back to the ship. Bask in the sun-splashed offerings at the San Juan Marriott Resort, where you ll have carte blanche to enjoy the resort s palm-fringed beach, shower facilities and elaborate pool, complete with water slide and swim-up bar. You ll have approximately 2 hours to relax on one of the resort s comfortable beachside lounge chairs, cool off at the pool and revel in the tropical atmosphere. The trip to and from the beach is 30 minutes each way. Enjoy! 4 Castaway Cay Shore s As you step off the ship directly into paradise at Disney s Castaway Cay, you ll know you ve arrived in a magical place. Swaying palm trees, white sandy beaches and crystalline water beckon, as a multitude of activities await, including snorkeling, biking and boating. Explore the tropical landscape, take a nap in a hammock or float out to sea as you sock up the warm sun. You may request your shore excursions through our Special Services team as early as 60 days prior to your scheduled sailing by calling Snorkel Lagoon Equipment Rentals (all day rental) Discover species and creatures of the ocean in our environmentally friendly snorkel lagoon. Pick up your gear at Gil s Fins and Boats and make your way to the educational area, where you can learn more about our 12-acre snorkel lagoon. In the water, you can follow the Discover Trail (for beginners) or the Explorer Trail (for the more advanced swimmers). Your all-day equipment rental allows you to enter and exit the water as many times as you like. It s great first-time snorkel experience. Snorkel, mask, fins and vest included. This excursion is operated by Disney Cruise Line. Adult Price: $25 (ages 10 and above) Child Price: $10 (ages 5-9) Castaway Cay Bottom Fishing (3 3.5 hours) Experience the clear turquoise waters of the Abaco Islands while anchored for a threehour bottom fishing experience. This excursion allows any fisherman the opportunity to perfect their skills or just experience the fun and challenge of reeling in their catch. You will be joined by up to 5 other fisherman (6 years of age or older). All fishing tackle and bait is provided along with bottled water and soda. Be sure to bring along a hat, your camera and some sunscreen. (Children 12 and under must wear a life vest. You ll skim the sparkling Caribbean waters for approximately 17 minutes while the banana boat is pulled along by a jet ski. Adult Price: $14 (ages 10 and above) Child Price: $14 (ages 8-9) Departure Time: Every 30 minutes beginning at 8:50 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on the Disney Magic. The Wild Side (4 hours) It s time to venture into uncharted territory as you explore the wild side of the island. Snorkeling, biking, and sea kayaking are all part of this adventure, exclusively for teens. Teen excursion availability is limited and subject to the teen count onboard. This excursion is operated by Disney Cruise Line. Adult Price: $35 (ages 13-17) Departure Time: 8:20 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. (Disney Magic only) Parasailing (45 minutes; 5-7 minutes airborne) View Castaway Cay from a whole new perspective as you soar approximately feet in the air! This aerial adventure is approximately 45 minutes total, with 5 7 minutes airborne. You ll board a 63-foot catamaran that will whisk you away to a prime snorkeling spot amid the colorful reefs that encircle Castaway Cay. You ll be provided with snorkeling gear and a brief orientation, and then it s time to explore an amazing underwater world teeming with fascinating aquatic plants and animals. After snorkeling, complimentary snacks and beverages will be served before the return trip to Castaway Cay. During a forty-minute walk to your kayak launch site your knowledgeable guide will make the Bahamas geology and history come alive! When were the Islands of the Bahamas born? Where did the Bahamian people come from? Then you embark on a one-hour kayak excursion through the ecologically sensitive mangrove environment. Here you will learn about the importance of the mangrove ecosystem as a nursery for immature marine life and a habitat for birds. Your kayaks glide over shallow waters teeming with tropical fish, sponges and colorful coral formations. Enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters off a secluded pure white sandy beach, where you will also explore the wonders of the seashore s tidal zones and their diverse vegetation. A twenty-minute hike brings you back to your tram stop. This tour is a must for those that want to experience the natural beauty of Castaway Cay. Your window to the world under the sea is aboard a 46-foot glass-bottomed trawler, which will take you on a 1-hour narrated eco tour. The boat s expansive underwater windows provide a commanding view of the barrier reefs that protect Castaway Cay see how many different types of fish, sea creatures and corals you can spot from your unique vantage point. After the journey, you ll return to the Castaway Cay Marina with plenty of fish stories to share! This shaded game room and recreation area features table tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, pool tables, foosball, giant checkers and even more fun--and free- activities!
