You will be spellbound by the majestic twin peaks our famous landmark, the Pitons, as they rise out of the sea as you approach the original capital of Saint Lucia, Soufriere. Board a minibus as we take you to explore the natural wonders of the Soufriere area including a tour of the drive-in volcano. Stop at the Toraille Water Fall where you can cool off with a swim! Visit Fond Doux Estate, a 250-year old working plantation and estate. A premier Nature Heritage Site with spectacular views of the natural landscape. Walk lush trails filled with flowering trees, birds, and explore ruins of an earlier historical era. See the drying and polishing of chocolate beans before settling in at the plantation restaurant to sample a sumptuous buffet lunch. Take a detour into the rainforest for a 45 minutes hike to a fresh spring waterfall where you can cool off. Continue onto Soufriere for a tour of the drive-in volcano. After, a three course lunch will then be served at the Dasheen Restaurant at the Ladera Resort overlooking the majestic Pitons. Then return via catamaran out of Soufriere with a stop at Anse Cochon for swimming and a chance to view the picture-perfect Marigot Bay before returning to the resort. Spend the afternoon at the Botanical Gardens and Diamond Water Fall where you have the opportunity to explore the tropical gardens and relax in their warm mineral baths. ADRENALINE ZIP LINE Daily (9:35 AM 1:35 PM) Cost: US$85 This exciting zip line tour begins with a short walk through a tropical rainforest before you arrive at the first of 18 platforms high up in the tree canopy. PLANTATION ATV Daily (9:00 AM / 2:00 PM) Cost: US$135 Welcome to the ultimate Saint Lucian ATV experience! Witness the stunning vistas and country life in action as you ride through farmland and plantations. The ride from the hotel to the Atlantic coast is an excellent way to see the island. Change from the bus to bikes at the welcome center located in the rainforest. Take a ten minute hike to the island s largest waterfall. Bathe in the cool pool that surrounds its base or just relax and take in the tranquil setting before finishing the second half of your hike. SOUFRIERE VOLCANO MUD BATH Wednesday - (12:30 PM - 4:30 PM) 4 hr. Cost: US$65 Adult & US$35 Child This ½ day tour offers a fantastic view of the beautiful west coastline via air conditioned bus. Try to catch can a marlin, sailfish, mackerel, barracuda, tuna or dorado. This tour comprises a training component especially for the use of the decked units. It starts from the Marigot Bay dive shop and runs along the sheltered west coast of the island into the Roseau River. This canopied river estuary is the feeding grounds for many of the northern island bird habitats. Round trip transfers are included. You will then continue south to Soufriere where the majestic Pitons rise out of the sea. Then stop off for a tour of the rum distillery where you can experience the tasting of locally produced rums and liqueurs, and have a chance to purchase your favourite Saint Lucian rum product. On the return journey, there will be a stop in the lovely Marigot Bay. Hike in the heart of the rainforest amidst the mighty chataniere and the fragrant gommier trees. Listen for the call of the national bird, the Jacquot, a parrot that roosts above the canopy. GROS PITON HIKE* Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays (6:40 AM - 4:30 PM) Cost: US$130 Adult & US$100 Child Life has its rewards and you will find many of them on the Gros Piton Nature Trail. Travel by coach along the scenic west coast of the island through lush tropical vegetation to the Fond Gens Libre, village of the free people community, and the welcome centre. From this point, you are joined by a knowledgeable guide, who will lead you along the trail which winds around the mountain at a gradual gradient. Enjoy panoramic vistas in every direction and see Petit Piton in the distance. The first half of the trail is moderate and can be enjoyed by everyone, while the second half involves a steep ascent to the summit suitable to the more adventurous hiker. After a strenuous but exhilarating climb and a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, return to the bus for the ride back to your hotel.
