2 DAY 1: USA SPAIN (Wednesday) Fly through the night to Madrid. DAY 2: MADRID (Thursday) Bienvenidos a España! Your Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport and remain with your group for the length of your stay. Transfer to your hotel to check in, drop off your luggage and freshen up. Snack like a real Madrileño with some Churros con Chocolate! Follow your Forum Tour Manager on a walking tour of Madrid. Discover Plaza de España and see the Cervantes monument, La Puerta del Sol, the lively Gran Via, the trendy calle de Alcalá and the heart of Old Madrid. Walk to the heart of Madrid de los Austrias and visit the charming Plaza de la Villa. Alongside the square is Casa de la Villa, designed by Juan Gómez de Mora in the 17th Century. Next to it stands Casa de Cisneros, a 16th century palace with an impressive tapestry collection. Have dinner at a local restaurant. DAY 3: MADRID (Friday) Today after breakfast, visit the Museo National del Prado. The Prado is one of the most important museums of the world and houses masterpieces by Goya and Velazquez, including Las Meninas. It is considered by some art historians to be the greatest painting ever created. Free time for lunch in the iconic Parque del Retiro at the edge of the city center. This 350 acre park houses various sculpture galleries and statues, including the Crystal Palace. This afternoon, enjoy a guided visit of the Palacio Real - an immense 18th century palace twice the size of Buckingham Palace and one of the most beautiful in Europe. Explore the romantic Campo del Moro Gardens to the west of the Royal Palace which boast two beautiful and enormous fountains: Tritones and Conchas and Sabatini Gardens on the north side. Tonight for your dinner, enjoy an authentic surtido de tapas. DAY 4: MADRID (Saturday) Today after breakfast, board your bus and depart for Toledo - Spain s medieval capital. Toledo dates back to Roman occupation (Toletum) circa 192BCE. The ruins of the Roman circus are still visible just outside the walls of the city. Meet your local guide and discover the history of Toledo s on a walking tour. Enter the spectacular Cathedral of Toledo. Then, enjoy some free time to explore the city on your own. On the way back, visit a traditional sword workshop and learn how metal is forged into elaborate weaponry. Shop for souvenirs after!

3 Return to Madrid to enjoy the sounds and colors of Spain at a Flamenco Dinner Show. DAY 5: MADRID ALMERIA (Sunday) This morning, board a train to Almeria, in the east of Andalucía. Upon arrival at the Almeria train station, meet your pen pals and their families. Start your exchange program. While living with a host family, you will find out that Spanish is more than a textbook language. You will eat Spanish food, meet Spanish people and have an excellent opportunity to practice your Spanish in real life situations. DAYS 6-17: EXCHANGE PROGRAM (Monday - Friday) The exchange program is not organized by Forum Language Experience.
