2 Tour Descriptions for Willemstad, Curacao COASTAL KAYAK & SNORKELING Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_26 Today you can experience Curacao in a very special way. No motors or huge groups of people just kayaking, snorkeling, nature and the open Caribbean waters! Departing from the pier, you ll be transferred to your kayaking stop. Once you ve been briefed by your guide, you re ready for your kayaking adventure. First you ll travel to an old pier where you ll be amazed at how the sun changes the color of the sea a beauty that is unique to the Caribbean. If you look carefully, you may even be able to spot red coral under the water. You ll pass by Fort Beekenburg, a well preserved fort, which was originally built in 1703 to protect the inner bay. You will also see an old typical manor estate known as the Quarantine House. Next, you ll head to Doctor s Bay for your snorkeling experience. You ll get a glimpse into the underwater world and may also see a shipwrecked tugboat that all types of fish call home. This is the #1 snorkeling spot in Curacao. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Maximum combined weight is 396 lbs. for 2 people. Normal physical condition required, not recommended for guests with heart condition or back problems. $78* $67* 3¾ hours CURACAO YACHT LAGOON TOUR Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_27 A 30 minute transfer will take you from the pier to your waiting boat. Stepping aboard the 50 foot, 2 deck luxury yacht, your Captain and crew will welcome you and look after you during your cruise. Sunbathe or sit back with a drink, while enjoying the scenic surroundings of the Spanish Water Lagoon. Here you'll see some of Curacao s most beautiful houses, luxurious yachts, small islands, mangroves and Table Mountain. During your 3 1/4 hour cruise, a stop will be made at one of the islands beautiful beaches so that you can have a quick splash in the sparkling blue water. The next stop will be at one of Curacao's best snorkeling sites a tugboat shipwreck, located on the protected southeast side of Caracas Bay. The tugboat, which sank 25 years ago, is home to a wide array of marine life. It is common to see colorful corals, morays, scorpion fish, lobsters, and schools of tropical fish during your approximately 45 minutes of snorkeling on your own with the included snorkel gear. Your tour also includes snacks such as watermelon, chips, cheese, pineapple, soda, water and fruit punch. We recommend a hat, sunglasses and non oil sunscreen. You will be required to wear a life jacket while snorkeling. Note: Participants must be at least 4 years of age. Those with conditions such as asthma, heart conditions, or other medical conditions may not be able to participate in the snorkeling session. 2/11

Travel into the countryside, passing salt flats and flamingos before arriving at the Hato Caves. This dramatic collection of grottoes is filled with stalactites, stalagmites and crystal clear pools, centuries in the making. At the foot of the Caves, is the Petroglyph Trail, where, time permitting, you may choose to take a short independent walk, passing an ancient slave shelter and exceptional 1,500 year old religious scenes carved into the rock walls. Afterwards, you'll head to the Curacao Museum which was founded in 1946, and combines contemporary art with an exhibition of life in 19th century Curacao. During your tour, you'll also enjoy a brief stop at the Chobolobo Liqueur Factory, giving you an ideal opportunity to taste and purchase the locally distilled Curacao liqueur. Cross the Queen Juliana Bridge and catch a glimpse of the wonderful view over Willemstad. $51* $41* 3½ hours DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_20 Touch, hug and kiss a dolphin while learning all about them. You will stand in waist deep water as the dolphin allows you to gently pet him or her. A trainer provides an interactive lesson on the dolphin s body and behavior. This program is a relaxed and fun way to meet a dolphin for all ages! You don't have to be able to swim to participate in the Dolphin Encounter. Note: Participants must be able to walk stairs of 6 steps and stand in waist deep water for minutes. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Pregnant women may participate. 4 Enjoy the unique and intimate experience of real interaction while swimming with dolphins in their natural lagoon. The dolphins will join and allow gentle petting and interaction. You'll also give them signals to which they will sing, spin, wave and much more. The program offers a unique blend of trained behavior and basic swimming and is perfect for people who have experience using fins. Life jackets are available and mandatory for children under the height of 1.45 m /57 inch. Since you won t be able to use your hands while swimming, the use of fins is required. The dolphin lagoon is about 18 feet deep. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and at least 4 3 tall. Bring your swimsuit and a towel. The Beach Express takes you to the other side of the island where nature reigns and the beaches are unspoiled. Enjoy the scenery as your host provides you with interesting information about Curacao. You'll pass by historic plantation houses, panoramic mountain views, salt flats and possibly wildlife and flamingos. After a fun and relaxing ride you ll arrive at local beach where you can enjoy swimming in the beautiful Caribbean waters, snorkeling or just relaxing. Note: Participants must be at least 2 years of age. Guests with respiratory problems will not be able to snorkel. $51* $46* 3½ hours HATO CAVES & CITY CENTER Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_29 Discover two highlights of Curacao, the Hato Caves and the historic city center of Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a short drive, you ll arrive at the impressive Hato Caves. It is home to beautiful limestone formations, the famous Madonna statue and a colony of seldom seen long nose fruit bats. A small path will lead you to the pre historic Indian wall paintings. The variety of stalagmites and stalactites are impressive. It is fun to join the guide in recognizing animals or figures in the various stone formations. Relax on the drive back to the city, for your walking tour. First you ll visit the Curacao marketplace where the locals shop for food and ingredients for their home cooked 4/11

5 meals. You ll also pass by the floating fruit and vegetable market which are Venezuelan schooners selling products from their boats. On the way to Fort Amsterdam, home to the Governor of Netherland Antilles, you ll pass the beautifully colored, picture perfect merchant houses on the quay of the harbor entrance. The last part of you walk will be to cross the floating bridge that connects both sides of the city. If the bridge is open, due to ship traffic, ferries will be used instead. Your guide will escort you back to the ship, right through historic Rif Fort. This area offers upscale shopping, dining and entertainment centers and you re able to spend time here at your leisure. Note: Participants should be able to walk sloping surfaces, steps and inclines and extended periods of standing. There are 50 steps to climb at the Hato Caves. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes. $41* $41* 2¾ hours HATO CAVES & OSTRICH FARM ADVENTURE Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_19 After a short drive, you ll arrive at the impressive Hato Caves. The underground system of passages goes from Curacao all the way to the continent of Latin America. It is home to beautiful limestone formations, romantic pools, the famous Madonna statue and a colony of seldom seen long nose fruit bats. After your tour through the caves, you re off to an Ostrich farm where you ll board a Safari truck and your local guide will give you detailed information about this spectacular farm. The birds are impressive and it s really interesting to interact with them. You don t have to be a hero and hand feed them, but it s a great experience! You ll also see the different phases and development of an egg to one of the biggest birds on earth. If you re really lucky one of the birds may be born during your visit. In the souvenir shop you can buy some authentic African art and souvenirs. Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes. $72* $51* 3½ hours SEA AQUARIUM & BEACH COMBO BY BOAT Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_25 Enjoy a scenic boat ride to the Sea Aquarium Park and Beach. You'll be picked up dock side to board The Pelican boat for your Sea Aquarium and Beach combination tour. Passing along the south coast, enjoy a panoramic view of the island while the narrator provides you with information about Curacao. The narrator will also explain how to 5/11

6 walk to the beach from the Sea Aquarium Park. This is a go as you please tour as you decide how long you would like to spend at each facility. There will be different presentations available for you to enjoy at the Sea Aquarium including a dolphin show, sea lion show, shark show and 30 aquariums. After your visit at the park walk to the beach where you will have a beach chair to use and enjoy a complimentary soft drink. After your visit at the beach walk back to the Sea Aquarium marina to take the Pelican boat for your return trip to the ship. This can also be done the other way around first to the beach and then the Sea Aquarium or if you prefer spend all your time at the park or at the beach, it's your choice. Wear your bathing suit and bring a towel. $83* $62* 4 hours SEE & SEA ISLAND TOUR Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_03 Board the Seaworld Explorer semi submarine and sit in air conditioned comfort five feet below the surface of the water. View sea life through large windows and enjoy the dramatic effect of passing over a wall that drops sharply several hundred feet. See tropical fish such as Yellowtail Snapper, Sergeant Majors, Parrotfish and Queen Angelfish, as well as delicate colonies of coral. Watch through your private window as a diver is surrounded by hungry fish that he feeds by hand. Once back on land, you'll cross the Queen Juliana Bridge for a view of Willemstad from 200 feet above the towna magnificent vista of the capital and the famous Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge, which provides a pedestrian link between the Otrobanda and Punda districts. From there, continue to the Chobolobo Liqueur Factory for a taste of the world famous Curacao Liqueur. Next enjoy a drive to the Punda district in Willemstad where your guide will point out the major landmarks you've seen them on postcards and now they're right in front of you. You may choose to stay in town and return to the ship on your own. Note: Participants must be able to safely navigate steps in and out of the semi submarine. $72* $72* 2½ hours WILLEMSTAD TROLLEY TRAIN Willemstad, Curacao Tour Code: WIL_02 Your memorable trolley takes you past the Queen Emma pontoon bridge and the floating market, where Venezuelan merchants sell fish and vegetables from their boats. Next see Scharloo, a former residential neighborhood lined with picturesque colonial homes built in the 1800s. A highlight of your Scharloo overview is a 6/11

7 stop at the recently renovated Bolo di Bruid, known as the "wedding cake house", the city's most photographed building. Leaving Scharloo, enter Pietermaai Cathedral, the largest and most impressive on the island. You will also view Queen Wilhelmina Park, which serves as the setting for frequent cultural events and Waterfront Arches, an imposing fortress that was the site of the fort is one of many structures that lend a sense of history and atmosphere to the city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 8 Activity Levels Involves walking over relatively level terrain, possibly some cobblestone, gravel or a few steps. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Involves a considerable amount of physical activity such as substantial walking over cobblestone streets, climbing stairs or steep terrain. They re not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. Comfortable, sturdy shoes are recommended. Involves physical exertion for extended periods. The terrain may be uneven or steep. It can also indicate a need for swimming in a light current, biking or horseback riding. Recommended only for physically fit and adventurous travelers. 8/11

C Card Must present a nationally recognized Scuba certification card, logged a dive within the past 12 months and bring a physician's note if you have a medical condition or are taking medication at the time of cruising. Debark Tour will conclude at the airport, a Norwegian Cruise Line program hotel or an assigned central location for your convenience. Guests are responsible for ensuring their debarkation tour is compatible with their departure flight times. Please allow extra time in case of unforeseen delays, and note that the tour will still run in it s entirely. Refer to the details section of the selected tour for more information. Family Recommended This tour is great for families. Flightseeing Tours Due to aircraft weight and balance limitations, the flight company charges an additional rate for passengers that weigh 250 lbs. or more.
