4 Day 2 The Tropikist Rest and recuperation (B) Today is a day of rest and recuperation after the flight and to give you a chance to settle in and get to know the hotel and the facilities on hand. And the Tropikist is a great hotel in which to just chill out and relax. There s the Bayside Restaurant or perhaps the swim-up poolside bar to just get your breadth back and relax. Day 3 Island Tour (B, L) Leaving at 9 am, today is about giving you the chance to see the very best of beautiful Tobago. We include sightseeing along both the Atlantic and Caribbean sides of the island; from lush green rainforest to stunning secluded beaches, exhilarating waterfalls and historical sites, we take in some of the most breathtaking views of the Caribbean along with sites such as Fort George (with obligatory cannons and spectacular views!) but also the island s Rain Forest Reserve and selected secluded locations such as Englishman s Bay and Bloody Bay. The tour also includes lots of coastal and forest species of wildlife and if you want to get a feel for the history of Tobago, this activity is a great place to start, and remember to bring your swimming clothes so you can dive into the spectacular Argyle Waterfall to cool down. Lunch is included at Jemma's Treehouse, the most famous restaurant on the island. (For some dates the restaurant may be substituted for similar when closed.) Here you can experience traditional Tobagonian recipes, which utilise the fruits and produce you have been shown on your island journey. At the end of the day, around 5pm, we ll return you to the hotel for an evening of leisure. Day 4 Buccoo Reef and Nylon Pool (B) After breakfast at the hotel, we ll pick you up and transfer to Crown Point pier for a boat excursion to Buccoo Reef. Buccoo Reef has been named one of the spectacular sights to behold in the world, so what better reason to visit? This two-hour journey (from Crown Point) will take you to this natural wonder, where even non-swimmers will delight in the underwater world with a glass bottom boat ride. Buccoo is one of the major reefs easily accessible to nonswimmers, particularly at the "Nylon Pool where you can disembark and swim on the sand bank where water is not more than 2.5 feet deep. You will be treated to many species of fish life and natural formations of the reef. All the known hard corals and most of the soft ones can be found around Tobago as well as hundreds of different reef fish including the giant manta rays. Turtles species such as the endangered leatherback, the green loggerhead and the hawksbill all nest on beaches along Tobago's west coast. After the tour you will be able to have lunch at Crown Point (not included in price) and spend the remainder of the day on this fabulous beach. Transfer back to the hotel would be around 5pm at your request with free time in the evening. Day 5 The Tropikist another day to relax (B) Today is another day to relax and chill out at the hotel. There s plenty to do around the hotel and naturally there s the beach also if you like to feel the sand between your toes! Day 6 Out and about locally (B) Call Sarah or Lesli on

5 with the morning free to enjoy the hotel s facilities. After lunch we ll transfer you to Scarborough where you can wander around and explore the Capital of the island. Scarborough is the economic and cultural center of the region of Tobago, and its skyline is dominated by Fort King George, an 18th-century fortification named after King George III that now hosts a historic/archaeological museum. There s also a few shops and bars worth a visit! Day 7 Diving with the Hotel (B) After breakfast at the hotel, today s activity is more water-based and we ve arranged for you to discover scuba with a two-dive experience; one in the hotel pool for you to become familiar with the equipment and become competent, and the second to experience a live dive from the local beach. Whether you have experienced this sport before or not, Scuba remains a thrill, which is why this experience is not to be missed. Depending on when you dive the remaining time at the hotel is free for you to enjoy as you wish. Day 8 Mountain biking a busier day! (B). Before lunch we ve included the opportunity to enjoy Tobago in an off-road manner: by Bike. Whether you are a beginner or you have a bit more experience we have a trail that suits you. One trail recommended for the Beginner is on the south-western end of the island starting in the small village of Canaan. Here, we take back roads to a flat, single track running through the mangrove and leading eventually to one of Tobago's most famous and picturesque beaches. For the Intermediate rider, there are many trails that provide a mixture of gentle slopes to moderate inclines, most leading to either a beach or waterfall. One such trail begins at an elevation of approximately 1500 feet and follows a wide, open trail along the side of a mountain, descending quickly with some sharp corners into a small valley. The momentum of the downhill section almost carries you up the following incline, leaving little time to admire the spectacular views of the ocean far below you. The trail continues downhill passing a river and one of Tobago's historical ruins of a European Fort before reaching the beach. Local wild life seen on this trail can include a variety of birds such as the silent Racket-tailed Mot Mot, Jacamar and noisy flocks of green parrots, which we hope to have time to show you! In the evening there is again free time to enjoy the hotel facilities or the local culture.
