SPECIAL EVENTS AND TOURISM a) Recreational and Events Coordinator Verbal Update The Committee discussed events surrounding Winterama including the derby, the use of a shuttle bus for Winterama, the Rotary Winterama parade, and the sponsoring of an arm wrestling competition. The Winterama schedule is finalized. There has also been a change to the summer concert series as the focus has switched to entertainment. b) Huronia Historical Parks Verbal Update Huronia will be open the Monday of Winterama. The committee discussed the return of ghost tours, the skate trail, and ticketing for Pumkpinferno 6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES 7. DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION AND STREETSCAPING a) Decorating Working Group Verbal Update None. 8. MATTERS FOR CONSIDERATION a) 2018 Workplan The Committee discussed the undertaking of a supply and demand style analysis of downtown parking by Town staff and the possibility of future parking development in the downtown core. 9. BUSINESS RETENTION AND EXPANSION a) Verbal Update from the North Simcoe Community Futures Development Corporation Update next meeting. 10. QUESTIONS & INQUIRIES a) Cupcake Festival 2018 Page 2 of 3 February 7, 2018 Page 4 of 13
5 There will be no cupcake festival this year due to Main Street reconstruction. b) Development Application Main Street 11.
