1 y RV PRODUCTION Overview of towable and motorised recreational vehicles manufactured in Australia. Data Provided by nemaustralasia
2 This research is undertaken in partnership between the National Association and the Individual State Caravan and Camping Industry Associations. This joint investment allows the Industry to undertake research at a level not seen previously to support advocacy, benchmarking and marketing initiatives across the country. Caravan Industry Association of Australia is proud to work collaboratively with each individual State Association to lead and champion a robust, compliant and sustainable Caravanning and Camping Industry.
3 RV Production Figures - y CONTENTS Monthly Summary Towable Production Towable Production by Length Towable Production by Weight Motorised Production Motorised Production by Length Motorised Production by Weight Data Tables INTRODUCTION The RV Manufacturing Report is a monthly snapshot that examines the growth, trends and changes across Australia s RV manufacturing sector. The report compiles data which is independently collected by nemaustralasia on behalf of the industry to provide insights into towable, motorised and overall production, with analysis provided by length, category and weight. Methodology: Through a monthly reporting mechanism, manufacturers report their production numbers to nemaustralasia who independently verify and deidentify the data before providing to industry. A total of manufacturers provide data. Data is only reported for those units manufactured in Australia and does not include recreational vehicles that are imported. Revisions: Manufacturing statistics are subject to revision after they are initially published, although the revisions made are typically quite small as a proportion of the monthly results. Revisions may arise because: an amending entry has been supplied to nemaustralasia, errors have been identified and corrected by the nemaustralasia after initial processing, or errors have been identified through queries by clients about the published data. In addition, from time to time, data may be 'stepped' as additional manufacturers are added to overall sample - a note will be provided in this report when this occurs. Working Days Monthly analysis can vary depending on total working days in a month in comparison to the previous year with the dates that Easter and Public Holidays fall upon influencing growth. Therefore, month to month comparisons are subject to significant swings in comparison to the previous period. The use of a Rolling Annual method in this report aims to provide a more general trend in production and remove the peaks-and-troughs that monthly analysis can provide. Disclaimer: This document has been carefully prepared, but it has been written in general terms and should be seen as broad guidance only. The document cannot be relied upon to cover specific situations and you should not act, or refrain from acting, upon the information contained therein without obtaining specific professional advice. Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd, their partners, affiliates, members and/or directors, employees and agents do not accept or assume any liability or duty of care for any loss arising from any action taken or not taken by anyone in reliance on the information in this document or for any decision based on it. Data Adjustments: In y Manufacturing figures, a step up was undertaken to include new manufacturers into the sample and improved data collection from existing manufacturers. Caution should be used when comparing to historical data. Removing the step up in y, total outputs experienced an approximate % increase on the previous year as opposed to %.
