London, KY (606) Fax: (606) Laurel, Estill and Wolfe Counties Teen Counselor Training was held March 17th and 18th at Feltner 4 H Camp in preparation for our summer camps. Sign ups for Summer Camp and Cloverbuds are taking place now. Contact the 4 H office at for more information or go to our website at laurel.ca.uky.edu/content/4h camp to fill out an application. Bring it by our office or mail it to us with your $10.00 deposit to hold your place or you can pay the entire amount at this time. Scholarships are also available. We had 5 participants from Laurel County to attend Teen Summit this year. Teen Summit is a yearly conference for middle school youth where they learn leadership and teambuilding skills. 2 DOLLARS AND SENSE East Bernstadt Art Club showcasing their tin foil sculptures and practicing the sculpting of movement and curvatures. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in Laurel County Schools got a small taste of the real world as they participated in the 4-H Dollars and Sense program. Students visited booths where they managed a budget by selecting items to purchase and learning about the balances of purchasing needs versus wants. The program helps youth see the real world application of money handling and the responsibilities associated with financial management. The chicks are hatching Mrs. Turner s room at Sublimity! After the chicks dry in the incubator, they are kept in a brooder box with a heat lamp, feed and water until they are big enough to be moved outside. Students monitor the eggs, study the growth of the chicks, adjusting the humidity and temperature in the incubator and the eggs begin the hatching process in 21 days. Mrs. Valentine s and Mrs. Massey s 4 H clubs at Keavy Elementary doing their windowsill gardening projects. Grand Adventures Club members did a great job decorating cupcakes at their last meeting. The next club meeting is set for April 5:30 p.m. at the Extension Office. Our topic will be container gardening.

Of course campers still participate in all the traditional camp activities offered at 4-H camp, including canoeing, swimming, archery, nature, and recreation, as well as a host of fun nighttime

This will be many campers first taste of sleepaway-camp so staff and leaders take great care to create a caring community in which a clover bud camper can grow in confidence and begin to enjoy the

Of course campers still participate in all the traditional camp activities offered at 4-H camp, including canoeing, swimming, archery, nature, and recreation, as well as a host of fun nighttime activities. Applications are now available at the Laurel County Extension Office or by calling Tiny Pizzas Ingredients Directions 1 standard-size bagel, cut in half Tomato sauce Shredded mozzarella cheese Toppings: like diced green pepper, chopped onion, pepperoni or ham Seasonings: Like oregano, basil & pepper Preheat oven to 325 F. Spread tomato sauce on each bagel half. Sprinkle the shredded cheese all over the tomato sauce on each half. Add your favorite toppings. Put a light sprinkling of seasonings on each half. Put your bagel halves on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven on low heat for about 5 to 8 minutes. You ll know they re done when the cheese is bubbly. Let cool for a minute, then enjoy your tiny pizzas!
