2 EENA WALL TENTS We originally built these tents to meet the needs of Oregon elk hunters where severe weather and heavy snow loads are encountered. There is no more time honored, tried and proven design than the wall tent and EENA is the best available. All EENA tents are made of heavy-duty 10 oz. per square yard breathable, 100% cotton EENA Cloth, with a Marine finish made to our specs. This makes it extremely water repellent and mildew resistant. It is pre-shrunk and tightly woven for good heat retention and has high strength to weight ratio. This is by far the best material for the money that we have found in our over forty years of making tents, and we have no intentions of changing. Available in colored light marine green or white which ever you prefer. Heavy duty 7 nylon zippers at each end. Spur grommets used throughout. Properly reinforced (the best engineered tent on the market) at all points of strain, with no problem-causing fluff or nonsense to add cost. Like all wall tents, EENA s are best pitched with an A-frame of locally cut poles, however, pole sets are listed elsewhere in this catalog. Also available are pegs, rope sets, sod cloth, stove pipe holes, and windows. Sorry, sewn in floors are not available in these tents. As all EENA tents are made only to order, please allow us plenty of time to make one for you. WHAT S AN EENA? When we were looking for a name for our tents we wanted a name that would be northwestern, a name that would speak of the natives, the trees, the lakes, and the streams of our beautiful country. A name that would tell of craftsmanship and tradition, of rugged durability and perseverence over the elements. We thought about it a long time and then one Friday after work at our usual suds sipping session somebody said why not call them EENA? Hey great, we all said! What s an EENA? Long before the white man came, the tribes of the northwest spoke a common trade language called the Chinook Jargon. In this jargon the word for beaver, the critter most responsible for settling the NW and long known for his skill and craftsmanship in building lodges and enhancing his environment, is EENA. And so our tents were named and the discussion was closed and we all got down to some serious drinking. Easy slide together joints -- no pins, bolts, or clips to fight or lose. The STEEL kit pieces are made of 1-3/8 round galvanized steel tubing with 1 EMT conduit for the frame. 4 RIDGE POLE This Ridge Pole is really all you need to set up your wall tent under the worst weather conditions. These are the most easily transported set we ve seen. Eg: WT149 packs to 8 x 4 x lbs. They are quality Heli-arc welded. Made of 1-3/8 and 1 EMT conduit pipe. Steel cable underneath acts as a bow-string truss. The cable not only supports snow loads, etc. it gives you somewhere to dry clothes (the warmest, driest place in the tent), hang lanterns, etc. Easy slip fit without tools. As defined by EENA a porch is a place to take off those dirty boots, stack dry firewood out of the snow and in general, extend the useable living space of your tent. The sides (walls) are made to easily roll up and held with attached straps. 5 FLOOR TARPS These tarps make a tough, easily cleaned, removable floor for your EENA Wall Tent. They are made of 14 oz coated nylon in a green color. However, for added protection from prolonged rain, heavy snow loads or desert sun, a fly is a welcome addition to any tent. These flys are made of the same 10 oz. We designed these screen fronts for him. Since they have proven so popular, we ve put them in the catalog. They are made of poly no-see-um screen with nylon zippers. They are attached to the tent by nylon tie tapes, around the ridge pole and the webbing loops in the corners. They have a sod cloth and peg loops across the bottom. They tie out of the way when not being used or easily come out and stay home if they re not needed. They are quick and easy to put up, pack small and weigh very little, considering the amount of shelter afforded. 7 EXPLORER TENT Has the advantages of a Miner tent (see page 15) (4 pegs, 1 center pole, no guy ropes), while having much more head room and a vertical door to keep out rain. Its steep sides make it an excellent choice where heavy rain or snow loads may be a problem. Easily pitched between two trees, sheer poles or what have you. Long a favorite with the dog sledder, trap liner, etc. This tent features a heavy duty nylon zipper clear to the peak on each end which zips down from the top as well as up from the bottom to accommodate a ridge pole and provide ventilation. This arrangement also allows one side to be raised as an awning and admit the warmth of a camp fire. 9 MINER STYLE Once popular with the Klondikers and 49ers, it is now a favorite with river runners and outfitters. The easiest of all our tents to put up. Stake the corners and raise the peak with a pole or rope over a limb. The river rats use one 8, two or two 10 oars for poles (as shown). 12 EENA PACKING EQUIPMENT If you re just getting into horse packing, the best first investment is a good book, several of which are list in the EENA library (see page 23). Of course, the object of horse packing is to get X amount of freight from point A to point B with the least amount of damage to the cargo and no damage to the animal. If this is accomplished the job was done well and properly. It makes no difference whether it was done with a Crossbuck, a Decker or a Riding saddle. ALLKNIGHT STOVE This is the grown up son of the WarmKnight stove we ve been selling for years. The addition of a cast aluminum door and an airtighter design has lengthened the burn time considerably. Depending on the type of fuel, altitude, etc., burn time should approach 8 hours. It is made of 22 gauge black iron and stands 22 high with legs extended, 12 without, is 12 wide and 24 long. It has a biscuit warming, sock drying shelf that braces the legs and keeps most of the heat off the tent floor. It packs inside the stove. The legs are designed to prevent them from sinking into the ground, poking holes in the tent floor, etc. The pipe comes out of the back to have the largest possible heating and cooking surface. This stove uses standard 5 pipe that should be available locally in most parts of the country.
