3 2 Campsite General 2.1 Marshals Campsite Instructions Campsite co-ordinators for this season will again be John Taylor and Paul Hartley. They do an excellent job to ensure that all are as comfortable as is possible. They work hard between events in contact with circuits to improve facilities in both size and layout but they cannot perform miracles...yet.... The campsites at race meetings this year will open at 15.00hrs the day before first free practice. You will not be able to access the site until this time. For example at a typical 3 day meeting the campsite will open Thursday at 15.00hrs and be expected to be cleared by 10.00hrs Monday. John travels from the North East, he sets off as early as he sensibly can but cannot be sure to arrive before lunch. The time allows him to take stock of any minor changes and ensure that the electric distribution boxes and fire lanes plan is still functional. All campsites will be open until 10.00am the day after racing has finished. Showers and toilets are provided. Generator power will be available from as soon as the contractors can get the site laid out until approx 19.00hrs on race day evening. Don't forget your long leads. The intention is always to get the power working by between and at the latest but the first area to be set up will always be the main paddock. The access here is far more restricted and all teams will be in position early on the Thursday. If there is a problem with the paddock that needs to be resolved first but the generator team will always be working to get the campsite fully powered as soon as possible. To ensure everyone gets into the campsite you will be directed where to park on arrival. This is done for everyone s benefit so please respect these instructions. Marshals who have caravans may be requested to park their cars in the marshals car park to provide more room for other marshals access to the campsite.if you are asked please carry out this request we would not ask if it was not required. As we learnt from bitter experience at the end of last year if a professional team wish to steal a desirable tow car they will target the caravan to steal the keys rather than break into the car. Parking the car away from the caravan will make things more secure. Marshals with tents will be allowed to keep their cars next to the tents as a secure lock up. Marshals who arrive on site after 20.00hrs please contact John Taylor or Paul Hartley on site, they usually set up as first unit by the entrance gate, so they can allocate your pitch. Don't just set up where you want, you may block a fire lane. If you have trouble locating them just ask another marshal. There is a permanent 23.00hrs noise curfew on all our campsites please do not break this rule as it may cause offence to your fellow marshals. This also applies to vehicle access to the campsite (no engine noise after 23.00hrs) If you are bringing a guest they must be staying in your unit. Separate tents/caravans for guests will be directed to the public campsite we have no facility to provide free camping on the public site for marshals or their guests. Page 3

4 2.2 Sign On Times Sign on times We aim to keep to the same times for each event and for a typical 3 day event these are Thursday to (intended only for those marshalling on the Friday) Friday to Saturday to Sunday no sign on opening A few circuits have local restrictions which vary these basic times. 5 3 Brands Hatch Marshal parking and campsite Turn left just before security gate at main entrance and follow the road behind the Thistle hotel. Continue on gravel road and over speed humps past spectator entry gates on right. When you get to the last gate on right immediately opposite is a wooden fence and gate turn left and go through gate and Marshals campsite is on right hand side after compound. To ensure everyone gets into the campsite, you will be directed where to park on arrival. This is done for your benefit so please respect these instructions. Marshals with caravans will be asked to park their cars in the adjacent car park area in order to make room for more units. Awnings will not be allowed at this meeting unless you have people sleeping in them. For daily travel use the triangular field opposite the paddock gates. Bike parking by sign on please /text reg number to john@racesafe.org Signing on, pass collection Signing on and pass collection will be in the Hailwoods foyer in the outer paddock. Overall and coat collection Will be for the compound adjacent to the scrutineering bay top end of pitlane Marshal transport will run from pitlane and post 3 (Paddock hill) for 30 minutes before the on post time each day. Subsistence Hot meals will be by voucher issued at signing on, redeemable at Kentagon or Hailwoods. They can be used for either breakfast or on Friday or Saturday for an evening meal. 6 4 Cadwell Park Marshal parking and campsite Marshal car parking is adjacent to the marshal s campsite; access is via the main circuit entrance. The campsite is located adjacent to the paddock and rider s living area, please see the map. Access is through the main circuit entrance road, turn left and follow the road towards the hairpin. This is a sloping site and toilets and showers are in the main paddock about 5 minutes walk away. There will be a generator on site but you might need a long cable. As for previous rounds you will be directed where to park on arrival There is a permanent 11pm noise curfew on all our campsites. If you are bringing a guest they must be staying in your unit. Separate tents / caravans for guests will be directed to the public campsite. Signing on, pass collection Will be in the Marshal s office in the upper collecting area (see map). Overall and coat collection Will be from the equipment trailer parked adjacent to the scrutineering bay will run from the upper collecting area for 30 minutes before the on post time each day. Subsistence Hot meals will be by voucher issued at signing on redeemable in the clubhouse they can be exchanged for either a breakfast or for an evening meal. Getting the numbers through the clubhouse at breakfast time has always been an issue, please be patient. 5 Donington Park Marshal parking and campsite The preferred way into the campsite, and most certainly on Thursday, is to follow the signs for Donington Park Paddock which will bring you on to the

Stay on this road, going past the Paddock Entrance and Park farm and use the old market Melbourne entrance further along on the right. Go up the old track and head towards your left. Signage should be in place directing to the support teams paddock and hence the campsite security gate. The access from the Melbourne road by the paddock entrance is open from to each day. From this gate take the roadway towards the paddock entrance but turn left at the crossroads and follow the circuit wall and signs for the Launch Pad. This internal roadway leads directly to the campsite security fence gate. Parking for daily travel is available adjacent outside to the campsite gates, bikes will be able to park on hardstanding inside the gate with the route as above. There is a permanent 11pm noise curfew on all our campsites. If you are bringing a guest they must be staying in your unit. Separate tents / caravans for guests will be directed to the public campsite. There will be a generator, toilet and shower facilities on site but you might need a long cable. Additional facilities are available in the paddock. As for previous rounds you will be directed where to Park on arrival. Signing on, pass collection and breakfasts Will be in the Launch Pad foyer and cafe adjacent to the campsite. Marshal transport will run from the Melbourne track access gate for 30 minutes before the on post time each day. There will be a pedestrian gate between the campsite and the paddock. Subsistence Breakfast will be by voucher issued at signing on to be exchanged in the Launch Pad facility. 7 Oulton Park Marshal parking and campsite The site location is on the Rally cross circuit right in the heart of the venue. This is an exclusive area for marshals, medics and their guests.

9 7 Oulton Park Marshal parking and campsite The site location is on the Rally cross circuit right in the heart of the venue. This is an exclusive area for marshals, medics and their guests. Entry to the campsite is through the main entrance and over the Warwick bridge. Move across to pass through the right hand paybooth to get your photo id pass or epass scanned. Then turn immediately right into the rallycross circuit. On first arrival day this area may be congested with the teams holding area so please go directly onto the campsite. The campsite will be laid out as five bays making a total of nine or ten rows. We ask for your co operation by parking in these rows and slightly closer together than usual, also to please park tow cars in the side areas as you would in a car park. By having the car alongside each caravan the power cable runs simply cannot reach everyone, the cars do not need power hook up. Parking for daily travel There is hard standing within the campsite for motorcycles. Cars can be taken to any public area adjacent to corners but access is not available via the track. We would still suggest that entry via East Gate and parking opposite the startline will still be the best location for ease of entry and exit. It is only a short walk over the bridge to sign on. Signing on, pass collection Signing on, pass collection is in the Rally cross office adjacent to the campsite and main entrance. (see map). 10 8 Silverstone Marshal parking and campsite There are slight differences with the location for the campsite between BSB and MotoGP events. They are in adjacent fields and the access to the circuit for both is the same but initial access to the campsite and sign on location varies. For both generators will be provided, but you may need a long lead. There is a permanent 11pm noise curfew on all our campsites. If you are bringing a guest they must be staying in your unit. Separate tents / caravans for guests will be directed to the public campsite. The simple point is that access to the campsite, parking and sign on is not through the circuit main gates for either location. For BSB Follow Red Route on map on next page Marshal car parking and campsite is on the outside of the circuit perimeter by gate 5, adjacent to the Copse tunnel. This is a spacious and mostly flat site with temporary toilets and showers on site. For access and initial parking to collect passes etc approach the main circuit entrance but about 10 metres short of the barrier at the last roundabout take the first exit and follow this outer access road as far as you possibly can. It crosses a car parking area and continues as an access road through a copse of trees and behind the technical college until it enters the marshal campsite. Signing on will be in the Scrutineering bay office just inside the paddock at the end of the Copse tunnel. All required marshal food vouchers and guest passes will be issued at sign on. For MotoGP Follow Yellow Route on map on next page For MotoGP we have a much larger campsite field complete with marquee to act as sign on and social venue. Access is from the Silverstone village. Do not attempt to reach the main circuit entrance, on leaving the A43 turn into the Silverstone village. At the correct turning there will be large MARSHALS CAMPSITE signs and then over the A43 on a private access road. This leads directly to the campsite. Signing on will be in the campsite marquee. All required marshal food vouchers and guest passes will be issued at sign on. Access to the circuit from the car park and campsite This is through gate 5 which is part of the campsite perimeter. This leads immediately into the public areas behind the National start straight grandstands and next to the Copse tunnel to post to post will run from the circuit side of gate 5 and also pit lane exit and Copse Apron by the Scrutineering bay. The Copse tunnel runs between the campsite and scruitineering bay/paddock. Meal arrangements A catering unit has been arranged to be on the campsite. This will be providing breakfasts sub rolls each day from but with a new and much improved bakery provision. In addition we will be providing evening meals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. In short at Silverstone since there is no permanent building available for catering we supply both breakfast and evening meals. Page 10

The campsite is located on the outside of the circuit just beyond the start finish line. This is a level site with toilets. Showers are in the main paddock about 5 minutes walk away. There will be a generator on site but you might need a long cable. There is a permanent 11pm noise curfew on all our campsites. If you are bringing a guest they must be staying in your unit. Separate tents / caravans for guests will be directed to the public campsite. On Sunday access for daily travel is available via the Coram gate to avoid congestion at the main public entrance. 13 10 Thruxton Marshal parking and campsite There is no marshal parking in the inner paddock. Please use the marshals campsite. Access is through the main circuit entrance, then turn right at the top of the hill just before the paddock tunnel and right again into the campsite. This is an excellent flat and spacious site with temporary toilets and showers. There will be a generator on site but you might need a long cable. The field is part of a working helicopter training concern. The campsite is not available until hours and if you arrive before this time please park temporarily in the public car park area by the main gate. The site must be left in a totally litter free condition on Monday. This means depositing refuse bags inside the skips not just neatly piled alongside, the crows will rip open. There is a permanent 11pm noise curfew on all our campsites. If you are bringing a guest they must be staying in your unit. Separate tents / caravans for guests will be directed to the public campsite. Signing on, pass, jacket and overall collection Signing on, pass and overall collection will be in the driver s signing on office next to the scrutineering bay in the paddock. Signing on and the pitlane is a 5 minute walk from the campsite, transport to post will run from pitlane for 30 minutes before the on post time each day Subsistence A breakfast will be provided by voucher issued at signing on redeemable in the paddock diner sorry but catering at the circuit will not supply the evening option.
