4 Note to Mom or Dad Trout Creek Bible Camp is an interdenominational, independent Christian organization. We are located 28 miles east of Portland situated on 184 acres of beautiful wooded land. We offer summer programs for campers from grades 2-12, as well as a Family Camp for all ages. Our campers participate in a wide variety of activities including swimming, go karts, paintball, zip line, mountain bikes, climbing wall, disc golf, hiking, crafts, various activity clubs, and many exciting group games, along with Bible Studies and Chapel. Campers will be under the guidance of a well-screened, thoroughly-trained counselor during their stay at Trout Creek. It is our desire to provide your child with a camping experience that is exciting, fun, and most importantly, one that challenges and encourages them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. After summer is over, it is our desire to provide encouragement to any camper who made a spiritual decision while at camp. Therefore, we may share limited information with local churches regarding decisions made. If you do not want us to share this information, please notify the camp office. Our purpose is to use an outdoor environment and facilities for evangelism and discipleship, focusing primarily on children and youth through Christ-centered relationships and fun activities. All are welcome at Trout Creek Bible Camp regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or religion. JAY HELD On August 7, 1979, Jay began following Jesus Christ. Since November 1980, he has dedicated himself to developing missional communities of Christfollowers. As an urban missionary, he has served on teams to start three urban churches, restarted two other urban churches, and ministered as a senior pastor in an inner-city, inter-racial church for nine years. Jay enjoys many activities: cooking, drinking good coffee, traveling with his family, being outdoors-hiking, riding, and running, to name a few. Two of his favorite activities are dating his wife and playing with his four children, Joy, Joel, Jonathan, and Jean. Jay is currently teaching at Multnomah University and is the Pastoral Ministry Department Chair. He is currently developing a Doctor of Ministry program at Multnomah Seminary for Church Revitalization. My great passion in following Christ begins with me understanding the time in which we live, and communicating Christ to those in it.
