Business Report The Hooksett Lions Club Train Show was on Sunday, April 21, That is where we held our biggest make and take of the year. This year we had new A-10 kits for an aircraft kit and Ford Mustangs for a car kit. Five Members showed up to help 48 youngsters (and parents/grandparents) build the kit of their choice. We set up shop around 9:30 and were done packing up around 2:30. I know the five of us enjoyed ourselves, and judging by the comments we were getting, so were the kids and parents! An unnamed club president forgot our breadboard sign, but that didn t slow us down. Rumor has it that treasurer Ed Mele actually built his first car model on that fateful day! Thanks to the members who came to help get youngsters started in our great hobby. At last month s meeting, Mac reported on the Maine show. They had 270 entries nicely spread out in their classes. They had a good location where everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, including the busy vendors. For the most part, the judging was good, with only a couple of categories he didn t agree with. As for the Amps show he went to in April, he did very well, getting golds and silvers for his work! Past member Frank Moore came to visit and informed us that the owner of Nashua s Hobby Town franchise decided to leave the fold and will be opening as In and Out Hobbies. He said he

2 got sick of being told what he had to carry or not carry and wants to go with what his customers want. Paul Lessard said the train show in Sutton, NH was interesting, but not as big as it used to be. Just a reminder that Vinnie Farruggio is thinking of switching internet providers and may not be able to host our site much longer. He is willing to teach someone with web space and the interest needed to manage it everything he knows! Right now he is using a program called Front Page. He has been doing our site for years and with everything going on in his life he would like a break. If you are interested in taking over, tell the club officers at the meeting or give Vinnie a call. You don t even have to attend every meeting to do this service! John Rauscher is trying to get a showing of the foreign film The Cosmonaut arranged in Hooksett.
