2 Dear Cub Scout Family: We are very excited to have your family attend Camp Whitsett Cub Weekend this Memorial Day! Driving directions to camp are included at the bottom of this letter. We encourage you to take your time driving through the river communities as traffic during this weekend may be heavier than normal. Check-in begins on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM. When you arrive at camp you will be greeted in the parking lot by a staff member who will guide you to your campsite. Some campsites have easier traffic access than others. Therefore you may wish to bring a cart or wagon to carry your belongings from the parking lot to your tent area. Each vehicle can approach their respective campsites to unload and must immediately clear the road to make space for other vehicles. When you return to the parking lot a staff member will assist you with a proper space for your vehicle. After arrival, you will need to find your designated unit leader and obtain wristbands for your family. Once you have a wristband, you are free to explore camp until lunch at 12:00 PM. Please be sure to submit your completed paperwork to your unit leader PRIOR to your arrival at camp. All required paperwork is included in this form. Adult and camps must fill out and complete a BSA Annual Health forms. Minors who wish to take part in our shooting sports activities must have a Permission to Shoot Firearms form. Please make photocopies as needed. This weekend provides an exciting experience for the whole family. There are activities for all age groups, including adults such as BB Shooting, Archery, Boating, Swimming, Fishing, Nature, Scoutcraft, and Handicrafts, and more. NOTE: If you have any dietary or medical restrictions of which we need to be aware, please contact us PRIOR to 2 weeks before camp. Please contact Joshua Bryan at or Joshua.Bryan@scouting.org if you have any questions before leaving on this exciting adventure. Once at camp, staff members are more than happy to assist you in any way that they can. We look forward to seeing you soon! Sincerely, Joshua Bryan Camp Director

4 CHECKING INTO CAMP Check in starts at 9:00 AM We recommend you have the main contact person be at check-in as soon as possible since they will be the one with all of the group s paperwork and will receive the wristbands for the group. Upon your arrival at camp, you will meet a staff member who will show you to your campsite. You can take your car close to the campsite to unload, but we ask that you move it back to our parking lot once you are done unloading. All participants will remain in their campsite until they receive their wristbands from the group s main contact and ensure that all needed paperwork is turned in. After you are checked in you are welcome to walk around camp. Lunch will be at 12:00 PM Leaders meeting at 12:30 PM to go over the weekends schedule and any other important information. *If your group plans on participating in any flag placements on Saturday please notify Joshua Bryan at (818) or Joshua.Bryan@scouting.org so that special arrangements can be made for the group.
