1 Most of these files included in this document were requested by those who saw our booth. Contained in this document are ideas for the different lists/foods/grab-n-go. Hopefully this will help you so that you don't have to start from scratch. Thanks. Please see the other handouts for all the binder master lists, disaster kit, 72-hour kit check-off lists. Those should get you started on your preparedness journey. Best wishes.
2 72-Hour Kit Food Item Expiration Date # per kit Breakfast
3 Lunch Dinner Snacks
4 48-Hour Kit Food For my family of 7, I decided to do 48-hours of food which can be spread out to 72-hours if the situation calls for that. We are using pre-prepared foods and keep them in a bin in the house (our 72-hour kits are in the garage and I didn't want the food spoiling in the heat). One of my friends uses a rolling duffle for additional food. I like this idea. While I grab the 72-hour kits, my husband grabs the food bins. We also keep most of our 72-hour water by the food bins (have you ever tried to fit 3 gallons of water in a backpack and then ask a child to carry it?) If need be, we can put the food in the backpacks if we have to carry everything. On General Conference weekend, we will use the almost expired foods as snacks so we can rotate the food. Having the food all in one place makes it easy to rotate. This is a new method for us... we'll see how it goes. 13 We had requests for our sample Grab-n-Go Lists. These included lists are for a family of 5 kids + mom & dad. The oldest 3 are able to help gather & carry. Considerations for smaller children would alter the grab-n-go list. For some, having the oldest children each be in charge of getting a small toddler into the car might be the most helpful. Evacuate!
