2 WELCOME TO CHRISTENSEN FAMILY YMCA CAMP! Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 Welcome to our 2016 camping season! Your child will have a fun-filled, positive summer with many camp options available. Our YMCA summer camp strives to provide positive experiences and opportunities to all children through a variety of wholesome outdoor and recreational activities including sports and noncompetitive games, swimming, enrichment and fun field trips! We believe that through these wholesome activities we will foster the growth of all campers in mind, body and spirit! Our camp creates an opportunity for children to enhance self-esteem, build friendships and develop a greater sense of their potential in a safe and fun environment. Character Counts! Values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are reflected in daily camp life and all the fun we have! NO YOUTH DENIED This 128 year old policy of the Board of Directors has, and will remain, in effect. Any child may belong to the Fremont Family YMCA regardless of income or family situation. If you know of a child who would like to belong, but cannot afford to, please notify the YMCA staff. Financial assistance is available for all programs. 12 Where character counts Christensen Family YMCA Camp The Fremont Family YMCA has developed our day camps into a model for other YMCA camping programs. For years, thousands of children attended day camp at the YMCA s Camp Christian. This year, we are opening our new Christensen Family YMCA Camp for the first time. We want every child ages 4-15 to be able to take part and not be held back due to the inability to pay. Once again this year, due to the generous support of several local businesses and organizations, the Christensen Family YMCA Scholarship Fund is able to assist families in need. If you have a child ages 4-15 who would like to attend day camp this summer and you think you qualify for scholarship assistance, please fill out the application below and return it to the YMCA one week prior to the start of camp. If you need any further information, please contact camp director Jeremy Winn at CAMP BEGINS THE FIRST FULL WEEK IN JUNE!
