2 CUB & WEBELOS SCOUT RESIDENT CAMPING Resident camping is geared toward an introduction to the outdoor program of the Boy Scouts of America by providing council facilities and certified camp staff for our campers. 1. The objective is to provide Cub Scouts, Webelos, parents, and other volunteer leadership with a meaningful fun experience and to strengthen parent-son relationships. 2. Webelos Resident camp is only for Webelos. Boys going into grades four and five in the fall of The program is the same at Camp Hansen and Camp Brown. 3. Cub Resident Camp is only for Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts. Boys going into grades two and three in the fall of The length of each camp is 3 days and 2 nights. 5. Cub Scouts,Webelos Scouts and Leaders will stay in the same campsite. (see the last page of this section titled Personal Tents ) 6. The camp provides a dining hall for meals.. 7. The facility used, meets all Cub Scout camping standards and will be inspected on National Standard criteria. 8. A trained staff is employed by the Council for the Cub & Webelos Resident Camp programs. 9. Program facilities include swimming pool, BB gun and archery ranges, sports fields, cooking areas, nature area, etc., developed around Cub Scout needs and skills Program Theme is Wild Wild West 10. The program is designed to provide a two-year program theme cycle for Webelos Scouts capable of keeping the degree of challenge in perspective for boys and their parents. Cub Resident Camp will center on fun and adventure with some Wolf and Bear requirements. 11. A ratio of one adult for every boy is desirable. However, a 1 to 5-adult to Scout ratio is required and two deep leaders are also required at all times. A minimum of 2 deep leaders for the first 5 scouts and then a ratio of 1 leader to each 5 scouts is required. Additional adults however provide the opportunity for more meaningful relationships to develop between the adults and the Cub/Webelos Scouts. Leaders may alternate between the sessions, some leaders can serve for a day, then another will serve for a period of time to meet leadership requirements. All packs will merge into villages and all adult leaders in each village will work together and share leadership responsibilities. 2

3 YOUR ROLE AS LEADER With the camp staff available and handling a number of the programs, what is the role of the Cub Scout/Webelos leader? It is not the staff s intent to take over the operation of your group. Their support, though, should give you more time to devote to the real task at camp THE BOYS. A boy s development generally happens two ways at camp, as an individual and as part of a group. As an individual, he will be learning through instruction by staff, working on some Wolf and Bear requirements (Cub Resident Camp), five activity badges (Webelos Resident Camp), or projects, challenging himself at the swimming pool and building more self-confidence through the accomplishment of goals. Your role as a leader will be to give him guidance and discipline as needed as he chooses his projects, encouragement as he tries new things, motivation to keep him on schedule with his goals, understanding and counseling if things are not going right. In addition to youth discipline, leaders are responsible for knowing who can pick up a youth incase he has to leave early by filling out prior to camp the Youth Leaving Camp Early Request form if you know a Scout needs to leave early, meeting with his parent's) or guardian to review the BSA Personal Health History form and to see if there are any medical, dietary, medication needs, sleepwalking concerns, etc. Special Dietary requirements must be discussed with the Camp Cook and Camp Director prior to your arrival at camp. As part of his village, he will learn responsibility, cooperation, and leadership. That is much to ask of a young boy, but this is also why camp is such a good experience. Your role as a leader will be to help the staff members maintain discipline, and to make and carry out plans. At resident camp, two staff members are assigned to each of the three villages for check-in. Please remember that camp staff members at times also need a breath of fresh air. Don t expect them to take responsibility for the village. The disciplining of your boys is your responsibility, not that of the camp staff. Your village will also travel together at camp to meals and programs. While adult leaders will primarily be responsible for the boys from their pack, all leaders will work together and share some leadership within the village. Remember that every adult and youth at camp must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. This means that all adults at camp must be a registered member of your unit. This can be leaders, assistant leaders or committee members. Some activities will require leaders to help with instruction. These will include BB's, archery, crafts, etc. Please be sure leaders are aware of tools, etc. they should bring with them for crafts. These will be announced at your District s May Roundtable, please have someone attend and posted on line at the council s web site. Good Luck! Boy development can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding. 3

4 NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN VILLAGE AT CAMP BROWN Camp Brown is the council s main Cub/Webelos Scout camping facility. Most of the facility improvements made will be for the establishment of a Webelos/Cub Scout Resident camping program. Cub Scout camping represents the future of Scout camping in helping to retain youth in Scouting and preparing them for Boy Scouts. A Native American Indian village is the first theme village at Camp Brown to be used for Cub & Webelos Resident Camp. Eight Te pee s were purchased allowing thirty-two Scouts per session to sleep in te pee s. Leaders will need to bring separate tents. Programs will be enhanced for this village to encompass a few Native American programs, even though the yearly overall camp theme may be different. Sign up for this village will be on a first come, first served basis and require a deposit (see Cub Camp Leader Guidebook) and the balance of the fees to be paid by April 30th. 5 CHECK-IN Cub Resident Camp and Webelos Resident Camp (3-day camps) check-in At Camp Brown is between 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. the first day. Please do not arrive before 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served the first day at 12:00 p.m. Camp Hansen Check in will begin at 2 pm. All camp leaders should check in immediately at the camp office. Leaders will be required to verify any youth no-shows with the Camp Director. If the pack had five preregistered and only four youth checked in, the leader needs to list the fifth Scout s name and why he is not attending. When your campsite village (maximum of 32 Cub Scouts) has checked in, a Staff member will take the village on a tour. This tour includes the health lodge, swimming pool, dining hall and program areas. Be prepared for check-in: By completing the following steps, your actual check-in at camp will run more smoothly and quickly. Prepay all camp fees at the Scout Service Center prior to your arrival at camp. (Bring any receipts you have from the Service Center with you because it often helps clear up misunderstandings.) Before you leave home, collect all BSA medical forms (see Appendix). Make sure you have one for each Cub Scout and LEADER. Check to see if they are properly signed by their parent or guardian. Please have them in alphabetical order. Please refer to the information in the front of the book, Personal Health and Medical Record. Call the Scout Service Center at (785) if you have any questions. Medical Health History and Physical Evaluation forms are available at the Scout Service Center and at Roundtables. If a Scout/leader is taking medication while at camp, the Medication Form (in appendix) must be filled out before camp, then turn in to the Camp Health Officer at camp. This will speed up your check in and better inform our health officer of the medication being taken. Complete and be ready to turn in four (4) copies of your unit s camp roster found in the appendix. One copy goes to the Camp Director; one is for the Health Officer and one is for the pool and a fourth copy for the Climbing Tower. Your pack will need their own copy as well. This is helpful especially if you will be having rotating leadership for your pack. Call the Scout Service Center or Scout Camp about two weeks before your camp regarding any special dietary needs. If a severe dietary restriction, we want the parent to speak with our cook. Remember, we place your food order about a week before you arrive. Due to safety considerations, personal vehicles will not be permitted in camping areas. If you have a camper or a leader with accessibility needs, please let us know as soon as possible so transportation around camp can be arranged. Camp will provide pick up trucks and trailers to haul gear to and from your campsite. 5

6 GENERAL INFORMATION SWIM CHECKS Everyone will take a swim check following a medical recheck on day one (unless the unit has done this in advance). This swim check is to determine ability groups. Cubs and leaders will be classified as either a learner, beginner, or swimmer. The Staff can help with swim lessons during your group s swim times. Swim check can also be completed prior to camp as long as they are conducted by a certified BSA Life Guard. Forms for this can be picked up from your District Executives or from the Scout Service center in Salina. LATE CAMPER ARRIVALS All Cubs Scouts and leaders arriving late must check in at the Camp Office upon arrival. Medical forms must be given to the Health Officer, and a medical recheck must be made. Arrangements will be made for a swim check. VISITORS AT CAMP/FAMILY PICNIC Visitors to resident camp are welcome. Please stop by the camp office and let us know you are in camp. Visitors are required to adhere to all policies of the Boy Scouts of America and those outlined in this manual. Camper identification wristbands are required for all BSA campers and visitors. At check in all campers will receive a wristband, this is part of the camp s Youth Protection plan. The last meal of each resident camp session is a family picnic. Parents and families are invited to visit camp, eat with the pack, and enjoy the closing ceremony. Camp Brown Parent/relatives can arrive after 11:30 a.m. with the picnic served at 12:30 p.m. Please secure a count of the number of guests for the family picnic and give to the Camp Director upon check-in. Camp Hansen Parents can arrive at 4 pm on the afternoon of the 3rd Day. Visitors cannot participate in programs ie: swimming, bb-gun, archery, etc. Visitor s meals are available at the following rates: Breakfast $3.00 Picnic Meal Costs Lunch $3.00 $5.00 over 12 years Dinner $5.00 $3.00 under 12 years Daily Meal Charges $11.00 under 4 years of age free AUTOMOBILES All cars will be unloaded and parked in the camp parking lot. Please lock all vehicles. Only emergency and service vehicles are permitted on camp roads. If a camper/visitor has a disability and needs help getting around camp, please contact the Scout Service Center, before camp. PAYMENTS/REFUNDS The fee is $75 per Webelos/Cub if paid on or before April 30, 2010 ($90 if paid after April 30) and $35 per adult. A $30.00 per youth deposit is due with registration form to reserve space in Camp. This is not refundable, but is transferable to another session of 2010 resident camp. The balance of the youth fees are due April 30, 2010 to receive the discounted price and to hold reservations. Refunds require a written request no later than August 1, 2010 stating why a Scout could not attend. The request must list the Scout s name, Pack and whom a refund should be issued. The refund must be signed by the Cubmaster, and if any medical reason, by a doctor. The balance of the fee will be refunded to the unit or the individual making the request. Fees are non-refundable for homesickness. If a Scout or leader becomes ill while attending camp and is sent home by the camp medical staff, they are eligible for a prorated refund (by day) of the balance fee. If a camper leaves without being sent home by the camp medical staff, there is no refund. Refunds will be issued by August 30,

7 TRADING POST The camp operates a well-stocked trading post for the Scouts in camp. It is filled with souvenirs, T-shirts, sunscreen, bug spray, Scout equipment, handicraft items, soda pop, candy, and snacks. TELEPHONE It is sometimes difficult to reach a Scout or leader immediately for incoming telephone calls. Therefore, a message will be taken and delivered to the appropriate person as soon as possible and they will return the call. If the camp phone needs to be used for a quick call, all out-going calls must be placed (collect or calling card) The telephone numbers are: Camp Hansen and Camp Brown Both camps have answering machines, in case no staff member is by a phone. CAMP MAIL A special mailbox for out-going mail is located in the Dining Hall. The mailing address for the camps are: Scout s Name Scout s Name Cub Scout Pack Number Cub Scout Pack Number Dane G. Box Lane Kirwin, KS Abilene, KS SMOKING All buildings and facilities (campsites, program areas, and staff areas) under the control of the Coronado Area Council are designated as non-smoking areas. Smoking outside entrances/exit doors is not permitted at any location and will not be permitted within 100 feet of the participants of any Scouting function, meeting, or activity. Leaders are asked to only smoke in designated areas: Camp Hansen is the parking lot and Camp Brown is behind the southeast corner of the dining hall. FLAG CEREMONIES There will be a camp-wide flag ceremony each morning and evening. Please wear your Scout uniform for the evening flag ceremonies and for dinner. DEPARTURE FROM CAMP We discourage Scouts from being taken to town for any other than the most essential reasons. When it is necessary for boys and leaders to be in town, their conduct should exemplify the very best of Scouting. Scouts and Leaders must check out of camp at the Camp Office. Any Scout that leaves camp during the session must have a permission slip signed by the parent or guardian. Pack Leaders are considered the guardian of youth at camp and will also need to sign a release form (see Appendix for the Scout Leaving Camp Early Form). ACHIEVEMENTS AT CAMP Leaders will be given sheets at camp on what the camp staff is instructing and other programs offered (i.e. cookout meal, camp segment program). Leaders will need to keep track of what Scouts have done and take this information home so the youth receives credit. Activity badges are offered at Webelos Resident Camp and most of these requirements will be covered. Cub Resident Camp will cover some Wolf & Bear require- 7 ments. Leaders will also track Scout s progress on the Camp Segment program.

8 PETS No pets of any kind are permitted in camp by participants or visitors, even at the picnic. TREES Our camps have lots of trees. PLEASE DO NOT CUT ANY GREEN TREES OR STANDING TREES. No green wood is necessary for a project. Help keep your camps and their nature areas for future Scouts. Use of pocketknives should be limited to Webelos Resident Camp and then be supervised. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES The possession of alcoholic beverages in camp is strictly prohibited. Those unwilling to abide by this policy will be asked to leave the camp. FIREWORKS, FIREARMS AND ARCHERY EQUIPMENT The possession of fireworks, firearms and archery equipment by Scouts and Leaders is strictly prohibited. SODA POP Soda pop is available at camp, as are canisters for empty pop cans. PLEASE put empty pop cans in these canisters. We recycle to help the environment. LOST AND FOUND A Lost and Found department will be set up in the Dinning Hall or Camp Office. Please check your belongings before leaving. We cannot mail these articles to you when you return home. Mark shirts and equipment with name and pack number. Lost and Found will end up at the Council Service Center after camp, and given to Goodwill in early August. SHOES TENNIS OR HIKNG SHOES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. Tree stubs, rocks, thorns, some broken glass, and other hazards make this necessary. (No sandals or open toed shoes.) EMERGENCIES REPORT ALL INJURIES TO THE HEALTH OFFICER. IN CASE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS OR INJURIES, NOTIFY THE CAMP DIRECTOR AND HEALTH OFFICER IMMEDIATELY. LIQUID PROPANE-FILLED LANTERNS AND STOVES Many units in recent years have begun to use liquid propane-filled lanterns. The BSA has a policy for handling this equipment and fuel. The camp maintains a storage facility for extra liquid propane fuel and it must be checked in to the Camp Director. Charcoal starter or other liquid fuels will not be used to start fires. Liquid/gas fuel lanterns, etc. can only be operated by adults. Only battery operated lanterns may be taken inside a tent, personal or camp tent. NO FLAMES are allowed in tents. WHAT NOT TO BRING Your son is not to bring the following items to camp: thongs, sandals, hatchet, hand axe, radio or cassette/cd player, extra food or goodies, fireworks, slingshots, candy or seeds of any kind. Pocketknives can only be brought to Webelos Resident Camp and must be kept by adult leaders except when being used by youth with adult supervision. Extra food (ie: smores, marshmallows) can be brought by 8 leaders for your entire village (32 boys plus leaders).

HANSEN SCOUT RESERVATION SESSION 1: JUNE (Friday-Sunday) SESSION 4: June (Sat.-Mon.) SESSION 2: June (Friday-Sunday) SESSION 3: June (Saturday-Monday) 1. The length of camp is 3 days and 2 nights. 2. The Webelos Resident Camp maintains the pack and den concept. Cub Scout trained leadership is required at all housing and program levels. To the maximum extent possible, packs should camp as units (dens). Adult leadership provided by the pack should include the Webelos den leader, the assistant Webelos den leaders, and other adults. Leaders may alternate between sessions. Boys will be in separate villages that stay together during the camp. Each den will have a two staff members assigned to it for check-in and during program times. Adult leaders in each village need to work together so that the village stays together. 3. Some of the general programs, ie: campfires, will be held together. Activity badges offered are on a two-year cycle. At check-in, leaders will be given a list of program items covered by the camp staff and the pack leaders will need to track the Scout s progress. 4. Day 3 (last day) has a picnic meal. There are no activities (pool, archery, bb guns etc.) available for family members. Family members are encouraged to arrive after 11:30 a.m at Camp Brown, have lunch and stay for the closing ceremony. The picnic lunch will begin at 12:30pm. Program areas are open until 4:00 p.m. Camp Hansen visitors need to arrive at 4:00 and stay for Dinner. 5. Aquanaut Activity Badge is offered every year as requested from leaders, especially from rural communities. Outdoorsman Activity Badge is also offered every year, since much is earned by just attending. 9 AQUANAUT

10 HEALTH LODGE AND EMERGENCIES Our camp maintains a well-stocked health lodge that is staffed by a certified first aider approved by our camp physician. This individual is prepared to treat the everyday mishaps that occur in the outdoor program. For those incidents that are more serious and require medical attention, special arrangements have been made with the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg for Camp Hansen and Memorial Hospital in Abilene for Camp Brown and their ambulance services. The camp reserves the right to send a Scout and adult camper to a hospital for diagnosis and treatment if, in the judgment of the health officer, it is advisable to do so. Whenever possible, a reasonable effort will be made to notify a parent or guardian before such action is taken. ALL CHARGES FOR SUCH HOSPITALIZATION, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT THAT ARE ABOVE THE COUNCIL PROVIDED ACCIDENT INSURANCE POLICY ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL OR THE SCOUT S FAMILY. THE CORONADO AREA COUNCIL PROVIDES LIMITED ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR BSA REGISTERED WEBELOS/CUB SCOUTS AND LEADERS THAT ATTEND CUB/ WEBELOS RESIDENT CAMP, FUN WITH SON OVERNIGHTS AND SPRING CUB SCOUT ADVENTURE CAMP. CONTACT THE SCOUT SERVICE CENTER FOR INFORMATION, IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. This insurance is a secondary or excess type of policy and is in effect after a camper s own insurance is used. Usually this insurance covers the deductible that the camper s insurance does not pay or the Council s policy becomes the primary insurance if the camper has no insurance. SPECIAL MEDICAL ATTENTION: Any Scout or Leader currently under a doctor s care is required to notify the health officer regarding his/her ailment and should bring a written statement from the doctor. Scouts and leaders will not be permitted to have medicine, pills, etc. in their possession. (Exception are inhalers and bee sting kits and only when a medical statement from the physician is shown.) Even aspirin, Tylenol, etc. is checked in to the camp health officer and logged (recorded) when given. Scouts/leaders on medication must bring a completed Medication Form that describes the medication (see appendix). EMERGENCIES REPORT ALL INJURIES TO THE HEALTH OFFICER. IN CASE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS OR INJURIES, NOTIFY THE CAMP DIRECTOR IMMEDIATELY. FIRES: Instructions will be given at camp and you will hear the siren tested. In Case of a fire Leave the immediate area and notify a staff member.. You will be notified of the ALL CLEAR. DANGEROUS WINDS: Instructions will be given at camp and you will hear the siren tested. All campers will go to the Dining Hall. Avoid being under large trees. The ALL CLEAR will be announced. KNIVES: No knives need be brought to Cub Resident Camp, Fun with Son Overnights or Spring Cub Adventure Camp. They will not be used in the program areas. Knives can be brought to Webelos Resident Camp. Whittling Chip will be taught to leaders and youth. Specific times and supervision will be allowed for the use of pocketknives. Please have the leaders keep all knives until these times. No sheath knives are allowed. VALUABLES All valuables (money, watches, etc.) should be kept by the unit leader, especially when attending the aquatics program. Some leaders establish a bank to allocate funds. PICK UP YOUR MEDICAL FORMS AND TURN IN EVALUATION FORMS (GIVEN AT CAMP) BEFORE LEAVING CAMP!!!!!!!! 10

11 RESIDENT CAMP SUGGESTED PERSONAL EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST This is a list of items that we suggest you bring to Cub/Webelos Resident Camp & Fun with Son Overnight. We would like to have everyone possible in uniform for retreat (flag ceremony) and dinner in the evening. Be sure your clothing is suitable for Fun and Adventure and labeled with your name. Be sure to bring a large collection of smiles and energy. We will have a pick-up truck to take personal equipment to and from your campsite. Uniform Short-sleeved shirt Shoes suitable for hiking Towels/washcloths Required/prescribed medication (tennis shoes are o.k.) Comb Socks (3-4 pair) Change of shoes, as desired Soap/shampoo, etc. Neckerchief & slide Raingear (if forecasted) Canteen or water bottle Insect Repellent (non-aerosol) Sweater, jacket, or sweatshirt Shorts Flashlight Underclothing (3-4 sets) Sunscreen/lip salve Moccasins or Slippers Personal First Aid kit T-shirts, etc. Twine/Rope for clothes line Camera with extra film Toothbrush and Paste Sun glasses, baseball cap Suitcase/duffel bag Swim gear Baseball glove for recreation/ Cub Scout book (optional) spare time Tent (see below) *Camp has a pick up truck to Bed sheet (hot nights & mosquito protection Folding chairs for leaders Sleep bag/blankets haul gear to and from your campsite. It is suggested that you have at least one pair of long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, and a light jacket or sweatshirt to wear at night if cool. Some campers bring plastic totes to store clothes and personal equipment. PERSONAL TENTS Leaders must bring personal tents for Webelos/Cubs and themselves at Brown Memorial Camp. And leaders can bring personal tents if camping at Camp Hansen. Camp Hansen has large two person wall tents with no floors that can be rented for $10 or campers can bring their own tent. Campers are encouraged to bring sheets of plastic for a ground cover and string to tie/lace the four-corners of the tent together. BSA policy on sleeping arrangements: Male and female leaders require separate sleeping facilities. Married couples may share the same quarters if appropriate facilities are available. When staying in tents, no youth will stay in the tent of an adult other than his or her parent or guardian. Male and female youth participants will not share the same sleeping facility. Note: Tents with inside dividers (rooms) are still considered one tent and not separate facilities. Personal Ice Chest Coolers you may not store perishable food in these coolers in your campsite. Coolers with perishable food must be stored in the dining hall walk in refrigerator. And no alcoholic beverages are allowed on camp property. 11

12 CORONADO AREA COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA CUB SCOUT & WEBELOS SCOUT RESIDENT CAMP FACT SHEET WHAT IS CUB & WEBELOS RESIDENT CAMP? Webelos Resident Camp is a three-day/two-night camping experience for Webelos going into four and fifth grade the fall of 2010 and adult leaders. Cub Resident Camp is also a three-day/two night camp for Cub Scouts going into second and third grade the fall of 2010 and adult leaders. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE? It is learning how to work together and play together. Boys gain experience, knowledge, and self-reliance with the help of their leaders and a trained camp staff. Webelos Resident Camp has a two-year cycle of activity badges. WHO MAY ATTEND? - Any registered Scouts entering the Second through fifth grades in the fall of 2010 may attend Webelos Resident Camp. Since this is not a Family Camp Siblings should not be present. We do not have the facilities at this time to offer the suitable accommodations for siblings. The National standards for Cub and Webelos Resident Camps prohibit siblings from attending. Ideally, a parent should attend with each Scout. If two boys are attending from different families, two deep leadership is required to get the Scouts to camp and for check-in, after that a pack must provide at least 1 (one) adult leader for every 5 (five) Webelos Scouts. There must always be 2 deep leadership as a minimum. Leaders may alternate their time in camp provided minimum leadership requirements are met at all times for Cub Scouts entering grades two and three this fall for Cub Resident Camp. Furthermore all campers must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. This includes all adults as well as all youth campers. ACTIVITIES - Resident Camp activities center around separate villages. The theme is Wild Wild West and the villages will travel together to programs. Activities will include BB & archery shoots, nature hikes, swimming, campfires, one cookout meal, a family lunch picnic on the last day and many more programs. Webelos Resident Camp will offer Aquanaut, Athlete, Readyman and Outdoorsman activity badges. Cub Resident Camp will offer some Wolf & Bear requirements and electives for arrow points. DATES - A total of four Resident Camp sessions are offered. Three-day sessions, called Webelos Sessions, are only for Webelos. Camp Hansen Webelos session 4-June 26-28(Sat.-Mon.) Cub Resident Camps: Cub Resident camps will be run simultaneously at each location. This is to allow greater ease within our Cub Scout Packs to develop leadership for camps. By running the camps simaltiounsly the packs can use the same leadership for both groups. The sessions were moved to the weekends based upon past registrations and to allow for greater adult participation. This in- COST - The fee Cub & Webelos Resident Camp is $75 per youth ($90 if paid after April 30, 2010) and $35 per adult. cludes all meals, programs supplies, handicraft materials, a trained staff, and equipment. REGISTRATION - Register by completing the 2010 Webelos Resident Camp or Cub Scout Resident Camp registration form and making a $35.00 per youth deposit. Youth to adult ratios must be 2 adults for the first 5 scouts and then 5 to 1. The balance of the fee is due April 30, 2010 for the discounted youth fee and to hold reservations. Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Native American Village (Te'pees) at Camp Brown requires a deposit and the balance of fees on June 1. Te Pee village capacity is 32 youth Total camp capacity is 120 youth per session. CHECK IN/CHECK OUT - Check-in at Camp Brown will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on the first day. At Camp Hansen Check in will be at 2pm. Families may arrive after 11:30 a.m. at Camp Brown and at 4pm at Camp Hansen on the last day to visit areas (not participate) and attend the family picnic & closing ceremony. The picnic is served at 12:30 p.m. Program areas are open until 4:00 p.m. HEALTH FORMS- All participants (youth/adult) must have a current BSA Personal Health and Medical Record on file. This requires the signature of the youth s parent/guardian. No doctor s exam is required. Reservation fees are non-refundable, but are transferable to another Cub Scout attending Cub Resident Camp. 7. Each leader must have a completed BSA Personal Health History.All Leaders attending Resident Camps must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. 8. The Coronado Area Council carries limited Accident Insurance on BSA registered youth and leaders who are attending Cub Resident Camp. Expenses beyond the Accident Insurance policy is an individual and/or parental responsibility. 13
