2 4-H Camp Wyomoco is fully owned operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County. Our Camp is coeducational open to any boy or girl who has reached their 8th birthday, but not reached their 17th birthday by the start of their week at camp. It is not necessary to be a 4-H member to attend camp. Each day at 4-H Camp Wyomoco is filled with a variety of programs activities including camper chosen activities, recreational activities, cabin activities, all camp events. Special events are also planned on a weekly basis to fit the theme of the week. These events provide your child with opportunities to make new friends develop lasting camp memories. Campers sleep in comfortable, rustic cabins. Bathroom washhouses are located within walking distance of each cabin include toilets, sinks private showers. There are separate villages for the boys girls as well as our Counselors-in-Training. Campers must provide their own linens toiletries. Please refer to the Camp Hbook for the complete list of 285 acres of fields, meadows, streams, woodls. ARRIVAL/PICK-UP Arrival is Sunday between 1:00 PM 3:00 PM. Pick up is on Friday between 4:30 PM 5:00PM. CABIN-MATE REQUESTS Campers can request cabin-mates that are within 2 years of the camper s age. Although we do our best to accomodate these requests (when possible), cabinmates are not guaranteed. MEALS & SNACKS fruits, vegetables alternate choices. Meals are served family style by cabin in our dining hall. We also have mid-morning evening snacks. HEALTH & SAFETY certified possess credentials as lifeguards with CPR first aid training. The camp is inspected regularly by the Wyoming County Department of Health. CAMP WYOMOCO STAFF is trained in teambuilding, leadership, how to hle things like bullying homesickness. They lead games activities, sing alongs projects. Cabin counselors are available to meet at registration.

3 Camp WYOMOCO 2017 WEEK THEMES centered around five fun themes. From Superheros & Pirates, to a camp-wide Olympiad, these theme weeks are a great addition to the wide range of programs UPERHERO WEEK JULY 2-7 (Optional Horse Camp) Come join the action adventure of Super Hero Week. Design your own costume compete with other Super Heroes in our team competitions. What will your super power be? july 9-14 Pirate week will get you hooked on Wyomoco as you your sword play. JULY OLYMPIC WEEK country. You ll also experience activities games from around the world. JULY Bring your favorite costume for the costume contest, decorate your cabin for your favorite holiday enjoy our Thanksgiving feast! July 30-Aug 4 Enjoy the wholesome fun of a good old country fair! Join in the Parade, carnival games talent show! DIRECTOR S NOTE Hi, my name is Marie Wixner I am the Camp Director at 4-H Camp Wyomoco will be my 22nd summer at Wyomoco my 8th year as director. I am so excited for another summer at camp! I have a BS in Human Development with a concentration in Educational Psychology Youth Development a MS in Camp Administration Leadership. I started working at camp because I wanted to them to grow, learn become great leaders. I am a mom of two boys who enjoyed camp for many years as campers, world I can t wait to see you all at camp in 2017! NEW AUGUST 6-11 LEADERSHIP WEEK Theme: 4-H Grows True Leaders! This is a new week a new program for Camp Wyomoco. If you want to learn more about what it takes to be a true leader a member of an amazing team of people then this week is for you. We will do a variety of leadership teambuilding activities have guest presenters in addition to enjoying all that must be at least 14 by July 1, 2017 not yet 17 by the start of this camp week. Each participant must have attended camp during the 2017 season in the CIT program.

4 ACTIVITIES AT CAMP WYOMOCO Activities at Camp Wyomoco are customized to suit campers of all ages & skill levels. We will do our best to ensure that campers are given the opportunity to explore some of their top choices. However, placement is on a first come, first serve basis. Please register early. ARCHERY (AR) AQUATICS (AQ) BOATING (BT) Archers will learn safety skill with the help of a certified 4-H Shooting sports instructor. Campers can work their way through skill levels to reach the Master Bowman title. We also play shooting games to add some fun challenge skills. SWIMMING, WATER GAMES AND BEACH FUN CANOEING & KAYAKING PERFORMING ARTS (PA) SKITS, CLOWNING, JAM SESSIONS, DRAMATIC ARTS, COMEDY, VOCAL & DANCE! Campers have a blast learning performing with Wyomoco s talented performing arts instructors. practice for a brief, end of the week performance! Bring your favorite musical instrument No formal lessons here, just time for making music having fun! Write a song for campfire or just enjoy performing together! We will also play a variety of water games including the ever popular blob tag clams harpoons! All activities at the waterfront are supervised by experienced American Red Cross lifeguards Water Safety Instructors. Boating will take place on our three-acre pond includes canoeing kayaking. Campers learn boating safety, strokes maneuvering techniques, navigating rescues in case of an emergency. We also do games in boats races around the pond. Activities are supervised by boating instructors lifeguards. OUTDOOR LIVING (OL) ECOLOGY & NATURE (EC) OUTDOOR LIVING, SURVIVAL SKILLS, HIKING & FISHING NATURE, SCIENCE, WIND POWER, POND & CREEK STUDY & SOLAR ENERGY! Campers will learn the basics of safety survival in the wild. building techniques, shelter building outdoor cooking. The pond at Camp Wyomoco is stocked with a variety of fish including sun fish, bluegill, bass, perch the ever elusive Giant Grass Carp. Bring your own gear or use ours. guide campers through the wide variety of plants animals that inhabit the 285 acres of woods water that make up Camp Wyomoco. Ecology programs include experiencing solar wind power through our energy labs, pond creek study hiking the Wyomoco trails.

SPORTS (SP) BASKETBALL, SOCCER, BEACH VOLLEYBALL & MORE! Campers at the beginner level will learn the fundamentals rules of the games, while intermediate skill level campers work toward improving their techniques. This is all coupled with plenty of time playing! VISUAL ARTS (VA) COUNSELOR-INTRAINING (CIT) ARTS, CRAFTS & PHOTOGRAPHY LEADERSHIP, TEAM BUILDING, SERVICE PROJECTS, FUN! Try out a variety of crafts mediums including working with acrylics, charcoal, pastels watercolors. Learn about digital cameras principles of photography. Take some pictures, learn basic editing trick photography techniques. HORSE PROGRAMS THERE ARE THREE GREAT WAYS HORSEMANSHIP AT CAMP WYOMOCO. TO EXPERIENCE There s something for every skill level, from beginners to experienced riders. Under the watchful eye of knowledgable instructors, campers will practice a constant respect for the horses, safety while working with the horses. This program is for campers who want to learn about leadership working with children. Campers will challenge themselves build teamwork skills on the low ropes course. All CIT campers live in the CIT village participate in a variety of programs to learn how to teach have fun! CIT s at camp also develop help with service projects at camp. **Age Requirements: CIT 1 - must be 14 by July 1, 2017 CIT 2 - must be 15 by July 1, 2017 CIT 3 - must be 16 by July 1, 2017 Acceptance into the CIT Program is subject to age requirement Camp Director approval. There is no additional fee for eligible campers.

6 HORSEMANSHIP AT CAMP WYOMOCO There are three great ways to experience Horsemanship at Camp Wyomoco. Please apply early, space is limited. HORSE CAMP Takes place during camp week 1, July 2-7 this week is for experienced riders age 10 to 16. Campers can bring their own horse for this week or rent a camp horse. For this program campers are expected to tack untack without help, feed care for their horses whether renting or bringing their own. Campers will be riding for 2 ½ hours in the morning 2 hours in the afternoon, weather permitting. This is a strenuous program so it is suggested that campers horses spend some time getting in shape before arriving at camp. rides, trail obstacles, riding patterns, mounted games, jumping dressage. Campers can choose to ride either English or Western. After a short riding evaluation, campers will be grouped according to class preference. It is important to send camp a HORSEMANSHIP ACTIVITY Available during camp weeks 2 through 5. This program is open to any camper regardless of horse experience. Campers will help with horse chores in the morning have 1 hour of riding instruction. Based on the campers skill level experience riding instruction begins in the ring may include a trail ride at the end of the week. Space is limited. Please register early. This is an opportunity for campers to get more riding instruction time. Campers will spend 2 ½ hours caring for horses getting riding instruction. Campers will do a short riding assessment activities that improve their skills. Space is limited. Please register early. Week 5 Horse Focus requires an additional $175 fee, to be paid with registration.
