2 The restart of a Tradition STEM This year Bayport Punkin' Chunkin' will become a Colonial Virginia Council STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) event. New features will be added to this year's chunk. There will be more information coming. REGISTRATION This year the main field (Catapult, Trebuchet, and Human Power) is limited to the first 20 teams that pay the $25.00 slot fee. The slot fee will help offset the cost of the STEM portion of the event. You must register these classes thru Double Knot. New this year will be a Pioneering Class which, along with the Theatrical Class, does not have a limited number of machines. Cost is $10.00 per head for registrations made prior to close of business Saturday October 26. After that date, there will be a $5.00 per head late fee charged. No registration will be accepted after November 2 nd. Check in at Bayport will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday November 8 th. Location of the Chunk The chunk will once again be held on to the Morgan s Farm. This is the second farm on the left when you go out the back gate at camp. This location will allow for more teams and longer chunks. Lunch Because the event is out of camp lunch will be best if brought to the site in coolers. Also, CREW 595 will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs and many other items. All proceeds will go to Bayport Scout Reservation and the summer camp staff. So you may just want to bring some cash. Daytime Spectators Because the event is out of camp, lunch will be best if brought to the site in coolers. Also, CREW 595 will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs and many other items.
