Only % of Cub Scouts attended Resident Camp, Day Camp, or Family Camp. Help more youth learn about camping opportunities by participating in an organized camp promotion! Participate in D SDFN RU WURRS presentation that promotev camping, approved by your district Camp Promotion Chairman, and earn your choice of one of these collector s edition council patches. Earn an additional patch of your choice for each additional presentation. Contact your district Camp Promotion Chairman or your district executive for details.

3 CAMP PROMOTION PRESENTATION OUTLINES CUB SCOUT CAMP PRESENTATION Ideal presentation teams include a youth and an adult who have attended camp or served on staff. Contact the Cubmaster prior to the meeting to verify the date, time, and location. Verify audio/visual equipment needed to show a video. Arrive early at the meeting. Set up the audio/visual equipment and make sure the video will play and the sound is audible. Bring copies of flyers, brochures, and leader guides. Introduce yourselves and tell about your camp experience. Tell how much you personally enjoyed camp. Tell them you will show a video, tell about the various camps, and answer questions at the end. Show the video: Camp George Thomas Resident Camp Tell about the following camps: District Day Camps / Twilight Camps Family Camps at John W. Nichols Scout Ranch George Thomas Fall Family Adventures Tell about how to sign up for the camps, individuals are welcome to attend, and that they may attend multiple camps. Tell them that financial assistance is available. Know the following details: o Camp dates o Camp fees Answer any questions and leave your name and contact information.

5 CAMP PROMOTION VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION For volunteers and staff who make camp promotion presentations: For 1 camp promotion presentation: = choice of 1 Council Patch (CSP) featuring a camp property For each additional presentation: = choice of 1 additional Council Patch (CSP) featuring a camp property Presentations must be pre-approved by the District Camp Promotion Chairman. Presentations must occur at UNIT meetings: not roundtables or district meetings.
