3 If your troop is camping on Friday night only, checkout time is no later than 1 p.m. on Saturday; if camping Saturday night only, arrival time is no earlier than 3 p.m. Saturday. Please note that if you plan to use the facilities after your 12pm check out time an additional reservation needs to be made. To ensure the safety of our girls and our property, please uphold the posted speed limits on all camp properties. Vehicles are restricted to certain areas of the property. Guests violating these rules will not be permitted vehicle access to the property. Please see the outdoor program staff member on site for any questions. Check in with the outdoor program staff member before going to the unit, they will contact you prior to your adventure to discuss check-in details. The outdoor program staff member will give you the equipment you requested and instructions on camp emergency procedures, as well as discuss happenings for the weekend and the check-out process. Campers staying in He e Nalu and Kai Lua may park two vehicles per troop in the lodge parking lot in marked spaces. All other vehicles must be parked in the main parking lot near the camp entrance; park all vehicles facing out. No vehicles may be driven off the pavement anywhere in camp. Carts for He e Nalu and Kai Lua are available at the Lodge for hauling gear and food to the units. The cart for Lani Kai is in the main parking lot. Prior to checking out, return any additional equipment that you requested. All equipment must be returned clean and dry. The outdoor program staff member has many duties during the weekend; they are here to help make your camp adventure run smoothly. If any needed equipment is missing or broken, ask for help. If equipment is missing but not really needed, list it on the post camp survey or tell your Program staff member during check-out. An all-terrain wheelchair is available upon request. All outdoor areas in Florida have bugs and critters. Be prepared with enough repellent and be sure to use it. Aerosol repellents should be discouraged. Notify the outdoor program staff member on site if your unit has non-human occupants in the buildings. He/she will remove them. Do not overreact and scare or upset the girls. Use a solution of water and disinfectant to clean toilet seats and lids. Conserve wood. Only begin to burn what you know you will need. Click on the link below to view the council/event cooks list.

4 The gate at Camp Wai Lani should be kept closed at all times. During check-in and check-out the gate may be left open, an adult should be in the parking area to monitor the gate traffic. In the case of an emergency, the outdoor program staff member will open the gate upon notification of need by the responsible leader or event director. Kaper list will be given to you during the check-in process 1. Check cabin for all personal items and remove 2. Clean all toilets, sinks, showers, and counters with disinfectant 3. 5 Camp Managers Cell Phone: (727) Hospital: Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital (727) The hospital is located 1.75 miles north of the camp on US Alt. 19. Come to camp prepared to handle emergencies. Keep parent permission slips with phone numbers handy. If an emergency affects the entire camp, a warning signal will be heard throughout camp. The warning signal will be the continual ringing of a bell and/or constant honking of car horns. Send two runners (at least one adult) to receive information and instructions. Meanwhile, the leader should gather and account for all campers and prepare them to move into action when the runners return with instructions. Evacuation instructions are in each unit; please review them upon arrival. All accidents or illnesses requiring a visit to a doctor or hospital must be reported to the Leadership Center within 24 hours or the next regular business day. Each troop is responsible for preserving and caring for cabins, equipment and our camps natural resources. Help prevent erosion avoid raking or clearing paths in the unit to include the fire pit. Recycled garbage is packed out. The outdoor program staff member will inform leaders of a tornado watch or warning. Campers are usually safer to stay where they are. If you see a tornado approaching, have everyone lie flat on the ground in a low area (ditch, if possible) and protect their heads by covering with a jacket, blanket, mattress, or whatever is available. Do not waste time running drop and protect. If the weather at camp has been severe, the leader should call the troop emergency contact person to assure parents the girls are safe. Notify outdoor program staff member immediately. The GSWCF staff member will make the appropriate call and assist as needed. If it is necessary to evacuate because of fire, move quickly away from the danger area toward a hard surface or body of water. Supervise campers so the leader knows where everyone is at all times. Return to the unit area only when the all clear signal has been given.
