Our mission is to inspire people of all ages to learn, explore, grow and be their best selves.
2 Deposit and Tuition Fees: A deposit of $500.00, payable in U.S. Funds through a U.S. Bank, is due with this application. Aloha, Hive and Lanakila tuition includes a $50.00 Camp Store credit. Campers may use these funds for supplies or for services received (travel pickups/drop-offs, rental clothing, etc.). Campers who exceed this fund will incur additional charges and will be billed at the end of the summer. The Camp Store credit is not applicable for Hive Elfins. Camping trips are a distinctive part of the program at each of The Aloha Camps. There is no extra charge for trips. Tuition payments, due by February 1 st, should be made by check, money order or wire transfer. Please contact us if you wish to make other payment arrangements. A finance charge of 1% per month, and any collection fees incurred, may be added to all late payments. Financial Aid: We provide need-based financial assistance to those families unable to afford the entire tuition. In the awarding of camperships, Aloha seeks to foster cultural and economic diversity as well as provide assistance to alumni and local families. Unused funds may be made available to additional families after May 1 st. Every effort is made to be equitable and consistent; if our offered award is not sufficient, we will refund your deposit. Applications for campership aid must be completed each year, and availability of funds in future summers cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us if you need assistance with the application process or reasonable exceptions to the above policies. Camperships are not available for Hive Elfins. Billing, Withdrawal and Refund Policy: Statements will be sent to the parents of the camper, at the home address, unless you notify us otherwise. The deposit is non-refundable. Families are responsible for the full tuition if withdrawal is made after February 1 st. If the Camps succeed in filling the place, which is usually impossible in the late spring, parents may be relieved of this financial obligation. The sooner any change of plans is known, the more likely it is that a vacancy can be filled. No reduction of tuition is made for late arrival, early departure, missed days, withdrawal for emotional or medical reasons, dismissal for misconduct, or any other cause. We reserve the right to dismiss any camper if, in our opinion, this action is in the best interest of the Camp. In this instance, no refund will be made. Optional Protection Plan: An optional travel, emergency and medical protection plan that will cover your tuition or other costs in case of cancellation is available through CampDoc.com, our electronic health record system Foreign and Domestic Wires: You may wire funds directly to The Aloha Foundation through the Federal Reserve System. Please contact the Business Office for details. Trips During Camp: Parents should note that travel during camp for trips or events is accomplished using 8, 12 or 15-passenger vans, school buses or cars, if necessary. Travel To and From Camp: When there is sufficient demand, we will arrange travel to and from Camp on chaperoned buses or vans. Domestic campers who travel by air must arrive and/or depart from the Manchester Airport in Manchester, NH (MHT) or the Lebanon Airport in Lebanon, NH (LEB). International campers may also choose to arrive or depart from Logan Airport in Boston, MA (BOS). You will receive a travel form with arrival and departure guidelines. Please do not book any flights prior to receiving this form as we may not be able to accommodate flights outside of these guidelines. More information on travel will be available in the Parent Handbook (posted on our website in March). All expenses related to travel will be your responsibility and will be charged to you at the end of Camp. Out-of-Camp Policy: We take every possible precaution to protect the health and happiness of our campers. Except for travel between our camps, we expect that all visits with campers will occur on our property. The Directors appreciate your cooperation in requesting no exceptions. Health Coverage and Vaccination Policy: Children at The Aloha Camps must be covered by a comprehensive Health and Accident policy to participate. Insurance information and policy numbers will be required prior to arrival. A member of the Health Staff is always on campus while Camp is in session and may include RN s, EMT s, LPN s, Physicians Assistants and Advanced First Aiders. Our Camp Physician is always on call and we have ready access to a local emergency response team and emergency room. All campers must be up-to-date on immunizations before camp attendance. Immunization records will be required with camper health record. Dietary Needs: We do our best to accommodate essential dietary needs when possible. We are nut-free, and also provide dairy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian options at meals. Because we cannot guarantee there will be no crosscontamination, any serious or life-threatening allergies may not be possible to accommodate. Parents must inform us in advance of allergies or dietary restrictions so we can discuss what we can and cannot provide. Release: By applying to send your child to Camp, you consent to his/her participation in all regular Camp activities, both on and off Camp grounds, and accept the fact that some of these involve inherent risks. By permitting your child to attend and participate in Camp activities, The Aloha Foundation and its agents, employees and volunteers are released from any and all claims for damage arising out of injury to your child while participating in any and all activities including, but not limited to: horseback riding, gymnastics, biking, hiking, rock climbing, all waterfront activities, all landsports activities - including archery, riflery, climb tower, ropes course, team and individual sports, crafts activities and fine arts programs. Such activities may occur on-site or off-site in Vermont or other states. Horseback Riding: Horseback Riding, offered at Hive, is available for an extra fee and takes place at Open Acre Ranch in Fairlee. We are currently working on improvements to the Hive Riding Program. Camp Photography: The Aloha Foundation uses photographs of camp activities in its brochures, newsletters, and on our website. The Aloha Foundation: The Aloha Camps are owned and operated by the Aloha Foundation, Inc. Its Board of Trustees is responsible for maintaining Aloha s traditions and high standards of personal service to all campers. The Foundation and its Board are represented at all times by The Foundation s Executive Director.
