Turn right at C St (becomes McClaine intersection w/stoplight). Stay on Westfield past Dairy Queen & First Baptist Church to stop sign. Turn right; go 2 miles (toward Stayton). At the bottom of hill (past small country school), turn left onto Finlay Rd; go ¾ mile; entrance is on the Finla inlay y Rd NE. I-205: Take the Hwy 213 exit (Oregon City, Molalla) and follow the highway straight into Silverton. Hwy 213 becomes Oak St; go to the 2 nd stop sign. Turn left at the Palace Theater; go 1 block. Turn right on Main St; go 3 miles (toward Stayton). Turn left onto Finlay Rd; go ¾ mile; entrance is on the Finla inlay y Rd NE. I-5 from south of Salem: Take the Kuebler exit; turn right. Follow Kuebler (becomes Cordon at the Lancaster crossing) to Sunnyview; turn right. Turn left onto Howell-Prairie; turn right onto Kaufman. Turn left onto Cascade Hwy; go 100 yards and turn right at the bottom of the hill onto Finlay Rd. Go ¾ mile; the entrance is on the Finla inlay y Rd NE.

3 What the Summer of 2009 is all about... The Summer of 2009 draws near... we ask ourselves What will it be like? How will this year be different from the 40 years of camp at Canyonview? How will it be better, yet still contain the values that we hold dear? Our theme this year is Shine Brightly, taken from Matthew 5:16, where Jesus instructs the crowd to Let your light shine before men... This is our hope & prayer as we prepare for another summer of ministry! This is what we strive to do, and what those who served at Canyonview before us strove to do. The world around us is changing. There are many questions being asked regarding the economy, the government, God s plan at work around the globe...yet in the midst of all those questions, God s Word still holds true. Our purpose is simple: to speak the truth in love and to let our light shine in such a way that all who come to our little canyone will feel God s love and be drawn to His light! 10 Teens in Ministry (T.I.M.s) An Interview is required for entrance into the TIM program. There are three interview days scheduled. March 14th (at camp), March 28th (at camp) and April 11th (at Cedar Mill Bible Church in Portland) If you are unable to be interviewed on any of these three days, another time can be set up.

11 Most camps have a junior counselor or counselor in training program - at Canyonview we have the Teens In Ministry (TIM) Program. On an average week, TIMs are paired up with a counselor who is stationed either at Horse Camp, Day Camp or an Overnight Camp and are with that counselor and group of kids for the week. Each area of camp has different responsibilities and different ways you as a TIM could serve the campers and show them the love of Christ! In every area of camp you ll have recreation time with the campers, and help the staff with campfire, large group singing and Bible time. You may also work on our Grounds Service Team for a week that does light housekeeping and maintenance. There are four sessions of three weeks each available this summer. June 14 July 4 July 5 25 July 26 Aug 15 Aug 16 Sep. 3 If you are unable to attend a full session or would like to spend more time at camp, it might be possible to be scheduled for individual weeks. Just let us know!

12 What to Bring to Camp Rain gear and extra clothes for the week(in case they get really dirty or wet) Sneakers & creek-walking shoes (not flipflops strap-on sandals, aqua socks, or an old pair of sneakers work well) Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste & brush) Towels Modest 1-piece swimsuit (modest tankinis ok) Sleeping bag Pillow Flashlight Bible Pen/pencil/notebook paper Horsemanship Camps An ASTM-SEI certified helmet is required for all riders under the age of 18. Bike helmets are not allowed. If you don t own your own, we have helmets you can borrow. You will need boots that are properly fitted; cover the ankle; and have a hard, smooth sole with a ½ to 2 inch heel. Hiking boots do not qualify. We also have lots of boots you may borrow. Because of the limitations of the horses we have at this time, riders weight should not exceed 200 pounds.
