We can t wait for you to join us! Camp Life Here is a little information about what to expect at Girl Scout Camp. Singing. Lots and lots of singing. If you have questions, feel free to contact us: Camp registrars: COME TO THE Girl Scout St. Albans OPEN HOUSE Sunday June 29th 10 a.m.-12 p.m. campregistrar@girlscoutsww.org Jessica toto Carter before June 14th: St. Albans Camp Director after June 15th: campsa@girlscoutsww.org Open House is a perfect opportunity for first time campers to see what camp looks like and for all campers to meet staff. Camp tours will be available and the Trading Post will be open. Schedule and Activities You will receive a schedule of the week when you arrive. At that time families will sign up for the activities they d like to participate in together. There will also be adult-camper only activities and child-camper only activities options. Me Time will be scheduled each day for everyone to rest or have a little family time. Each evening will be an all camp activity such as a campfire or counselor hunt that everyone will participate in together. All campers will have the opportunity to do a variety activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, nature exploration and Viking boating. All adult and child campers entering grade 4 and up will have the opportunity for a two hour horse experience. We respect everyone s choice in how you want to experience camp and our professional camp staff are busy creating a wonderful fun-filled session, so come ready to participate in the activities! Everyone in camp helps with chores we call Kapers. This includes making sure your personal area in your unit is clean as well as doing something to help out all of camp, like picking up trash on the trails or cleaning a BIFFY (bathroom in the forest for you). We will have a flag ceremony each morning before breakfast and evening before dinner and we want everyone to attend. We will eat our meals together in the Lodge family style and we will take turns bussing the tables. (we call it hopping ) You must get any personal sports equipment approved by the camp director prior to use. Bicycles and personal watercraft are not permitted. Please call with any questions. Other than unloading and loading your luggage on the first and last day, driving is not permitted in camp. So, expect to walk everywhere on well maintained trails. Absolutely no food, candy or gum is permitted in the living units. If there is a specialty food you absolutely must have at camp you can keep it in the kitchen. We are very accommodating for food allergies, so just call us with any concerns. Smoking by people over 18 is only permitted in the designated area in the parking lot and never around children campers. We encourage all of our campers to remain on at camp for the entire session to get the most out of the camp experience. If you must leave camp we ask that you sign in and out at the Lodge of Nations so we can get a hold of you in case of emergency. Children campers must be supervised at ALL TIMES by an adult. Fun! Lots and lots of fun! 1
