2 Optical fibre is routed in many different applications and at the printed circuit board (PCB) level is no exception. Board level space is becoming more and more constrained at the X and Y axis. Low profile with small footprint fibre routing and spooling devices are being required and this section of the Richco fibre optic catalogue will showcase those items designed for optical fibre routing and protection at the PCB level. Introduction Product Highlights Fibre Reels Fibre Reels - We offer many low profile fibre reels for spooling excess fibre on the board. Some reels can be broken apart to form a controlled bend around a 90 or 180 degree turn. We also offer a 90 degree segment that can be assembled to form a complete excess fibre reel. Fibre Reel Accessories - Within this section of the catalogue are a Stacking Pillar and Stand-off that can be used on certain reels. The stacking pillar can be used to stack multiple reels for compact spooling of multiple runs of fibre. The Stand-off can be used to coil excess fibre above the board taking up less space on the board. Fibre Reel Stacking Pillar and Stand-off Corner Guides - Provides a compact and controlled bend radius around a 90 degree turn. There are a few bend radii to choose from as well as different heights for handling varied amounts of fibre. We have adhesive mount versions or rivet mount versions. Mini Optical Fibre Network Saddles - Routing devices designed specifically for optical fibre. The parts have smooth rounded edges and the entry point into the saddle will incur zero stress on the fibre. We have adhesive mount, arrowhead mount for a.093" thick board and a square mount providing antirotational benefit. Routing Devices - Richco has long been a leader in wire routing devices and many of these parts are used in the optical fibre industry today. We have routing devices that would incur zero stress on the fibre and then lock closed with a moving top. We also have routing devices that are miniature in size providing low profile and small footprints requiring little space on the PCB. Many of our snap-in routing devices have a low protrusion mount on the back side of the board for applications where space constraints exist for the backside of the PCB.
