4 Warranty WARRANTY THE FOLLOWING WARRANTY APPLIES TO ALL FIBERGLASS PRODUCTS SHIPPED AFTER MARCH 1, 1999 Nordic Fiberglass, Inc. warrants all of its products to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from date of purchase when used under normal conditions and for the purpose for which it was designed. In addition, Nordic Fiberglass, Inc. warrants its FIBERGLASS products for a period of thirty years against failure due to loss of strength through degradation when used under normal environmental conditions. Acts of God are excluded. Purchaser s sole remedy for any defect shall be the repair or replacement of the product. Whether the defect is remedied by repair or replacement shall be the decision of Nordic Fiberglass, Inc. and shall constitute the complete fulfi llment of Nordic Fiberglass obligation under this warranty. All expenses related to removal and transportation incurred by the owner of the product in delivering the product to Nordic Fiberglass, Inc. for repair or reinstallation of the repaired or replaced product shall be the responsibility of the product owner. This warranty is expressly in lieu of any other express or implied warranties and Nordic Fiberglass, Inc. makes no other express or implied warranty, including any implied warranty of fi tness or merchant ability. In no case shall Nordic Fiberglass, Inc. be liable for consequential, special or indirect damages resulting from breach of this warranty. Page 4

5 Box Pads for Single Phase Transformers Box Pads, 1 Phase Transformer CBP A-MG-22x24 GS A-CE-2-MG-26x32 TP MG-12x20 Installed CBP unit CBP with Transformer CBP units (compression box pad) are manufactured of SMC (Sheet Molding Compound). SMC is a thermosetting compound which is pre-mixed with pigments that are molded into the fiberglass and cannot peel. Fire retardant and UV additives are permanently molded in throughout the laminate. GS units are produced of fire-retardant resin and a combination of chopped glass spray-up and hand lay-up using 18 oz. woven roving glass reinforcement for great strength. Munsell green surface coat is applied for superior weather-ability. Accommodates typical single phase transformers ranging from 25kVA up to 167 kva ratings. Optional tie-down brackets are available to hold the transformer in place. Bottom flange provides a stable footing for installation. Benefits: Molded in ribs resist sidewall ground pressures to help prevent sidewall deflection. No costly forms to set up, no cement needs to be poured, the fiberglass box pads reduce installation time by being built ready to go. 6 Box Pads, 3 Phase Transformer Box Pads for Three Phase Transformers GS RT-MG-56x16 GS RT-MG-56x16 TP MG-18x42 3 Phase Box Pad Installation 3 Phase Box Pad Installation RT series box pads for three-phase transformers are available in various heights. Designed for strength without excessive weight. They are produced of fire-retardant resin and a combination of chopped glass spray-up and hand lay-up using 18 ounce woven roving glass reinforcement. Multiple layers of chopped and woven roving glass encapsulate plywood and 2x6 s, providing a rigid surface for the transformer oil tank. On the 36 box pads, the 2x4 is encapsulated around the box pad perimeter halfway up the sidewall and vertical ribs are molded into the bottom half on all four sides. The height of the box pads allows for excellent cable training and cable mobility for most three-phase transformers. The box pads are spacious enough to accommodate looping of extra cable. Benefits: No costly forms to set up, no cement needs to be poured, the fiberglass box pads reduce installation time by being built ready to go. In case of elbow failure, the extra looped cable enables the lineperson to use the extra slack for installing a new elbow. Box Pads for Air-Insulated & Oil-Filled Switchgear GS MG-67x62 GS MG-67x62 GS RT-2O-MG Installed box pad Actual installation Nordic box pads for switchgear are available in various sizes. They are produced of fire-retardant resin and a combination of chopped glass spray-up and hand lay-up using 18 ounce woven roving glass reinforcement. Munsell green surface coat is applied for superior weatherability and protection from ultraviolet light. These box pads are designed with steps built into the sidewalls for greater vertical strength and resistance to deflection in a buried position. The steps are reinforced with 2x4 s, which are completely encapsulated in additional layers of chopped glass and woven roving glass. Vertical ribs are molded in below the steps for added strength. The RT-2O series of box pads have extra reinforcements to accommodate oil-filled switchgear. These box pads are designed with two top openings to meet the openings of the switch base. A footprint of the switch is required to ensure proper placement of the openings. Bottom flange provides a stable footing for installation. Box Pads for Air-Insulated Switchgear with an Access Panel Designed to accommodate various models of airfilled switchgear. GS MG-59x51-59x24-GSC is designed to accommodate S&C PMH-6 thru PMH-19 air-filled switchgear in the 15kV base size. GS R-MG-24x x20-GSC and GS R-MG-24x47-95x20-GSC box pads are designed to accommodate large G&W air-filled switchgear. Nordic Fiberglass requires a footprint of your airfilled switchgear to determine the correct box pad for your application. Access panel allows entry into the box pad in order to feed underground cables to the switch. Cover is secured with four penta-head bolts, two of these are inside a metal security case for added protection and padlocking. Cover includes the lettering, WARNING! ELECTRIC HAZARD ENTRY PROHIBITED Cover has down-turned lips around three sides of the cover s perimeter for extra security. GS MG-59x51-59x24-GSC Benefits: Access panel allows a lineperson to enter the box pad and pull cable up to the terminals. In case of an electrical fault or blown elbow, the extra room inside the interior of the box pad allows the lineperson to enter and repair the fault or damaged elbow. Provides a raceway between the transformer and the meter. In case of an elbow failure, the extra cable slack in the box pad s cavity allows the lineperson to quickly attach a new elbow and restore service. Install up to 2 meter enclosures on the outside walls of the MPP meter pedestal. Up to three secondary connectors can be installed on the inside walls of the MPP unit. Large expansive door on the MPP meter pedestal allows easy access inside the pedestal. Penta-head bolt and provisions for pad locking on the MPP give it a double security feature. This meter & box pad CAN T convert to a secondary pedestal/box pad combination. (See part number below) Meter and box pad are shipped separately, assembly is required. Secondary Pedestal/Box Pad GS SP-MG-22x22 15 high box pad accommodates single phase transformers ranging from 25kVA up to 167kVA. Provides a raceway between the transformer and the secondary pedestal. Accommodates free standing connectors. Accommodates Nordic s connector bracket with optional 350 or 600MCM connectors. P-107 stainless steel locking system with a silicon bronze pentahead bolt provides double locking. Stainless steel self locking cam arm holds lid open. Optional copper grounding is available. Typically installed as a one piece unit, the customer can unbolt the cabinet from the ground sleeve thus enabling the ground sleeve to be installed during construction without subjecting the cabinet to accidental damage. Benefits: Pulling elbows with a hot stick is made easier with the adjustable mounting bracket found on the PA or PB38 mounting plates. Rotational lid rotates on pivot bolts creating a lower center of gravity that reduces the force required to open the cabinet. The wide open lid allows cable pulling equipment to be used inside of the cabinet with no interference. Hot-stick operators have open access to elbows with no lid interference from the top, front, or sides. 25 Cabinet Extensions Cabinet Extensions Used extensively in wind farm applications where large diameter cable needs a large expansive area for bending and cable training. Cabinet extensions extend the height of the cabinet to allow for more cable bending radius. The extensions allow for extra cable looping. In case of an elbow failure, the damaged elbow and cable can be removed and the extra slack can be used to attach a new elbow. 18 or 36 high cabinet extensions are available for most of Nordic s three phase sectionalizing cabinets. 29 Covers, Ground Sleeve Covers for Ground Sleeves Standard Covers Rust free fiberglass construction and stainless steel hardware. The exterior is applied with a Munsell green gel-coat (not applicable to the GSC MG cover), which contains UV stabilizer and provides superior weather-ability and resistance to ultraviolet attack. The standard cover is fabricated of one layer of 1/2 plywood encapsulated in fiberglass, using fireretardant resin and chopped glass and 18 ounce woven roving reinforcement. The word ELECTRIC can be printed on the cover for an additional charge. Covers are available for all box pads and ground sleeves. Four brass penta-head recesses are installed for securing the cover to the box pad. Covers come with four 3/8 x 1 1/2 stainless steel penta-head bolts. For larger sized covers, two layers of 1/2 plywood are standard, as are six to eight penta-head recesses and bolts. For retrofitting to box pads or ground sleeves that were not furnished with inserts, Nordic can provide stainless steel 3/8 and 1/2 floating nut inserts for installing the cover. GSC MG UV stabilizers are contained in the resin to provide protection from ultraviolet light attack. The top of the cover is a textured non-skid diamond tread surface, which provides a safe operating platform in all types of weather. The GSC covers are produced by a process known as cold pressed molding. Ground sleeve extenders work great where you can shut off the power, excavate around the damaged sleeve, and install a ground sleeve extender over it. If the grade line has come up over the years, these units extend the ground sleeve up another 4 above grade The GSE-4A-MG-22x24 and GSE-4F-MG-26x30 go over box pads with a 37 x 43 top surface. Covers up a damaged box pad and raises it up 4 at the same time. Adapters GSA MG-21x10 The GSA MG-21x10 adapter is designed to fit on the GSLBJ C-CE-2-MG-22x24. This unit also accommodates the ND in either a single phase cabinet or tap pedestal. Because of its smaller top opening this adapter also accommodates single phase metal sectionalizing cabinets. Adapters GSA MG-25x10 The GSA MG-25x10 provides an adapter for the GS O-MG-TS. With the adapter mounted to the box pad, the ND MG-102A-X-X can be mounted to the adapter. The ND MG-102A-X-X can be used as a single phase sectionalizing cabinet. The ND MG-102A-X-X can also be used as a secondary tap pedestal called the ND MG-X-L750350P-X. Other metal single phase sectionalizing cabinets can be mounted to the GSA MG-25x10. Replacement Ground Sleeve/Transformer Pads RGS MG-21x10, RGS MG-55x10, RGS MG-24x30, and RTP MG-22x24.
